Anyhoo, my VLX looks like it exploded, but actually I am working on MCC dual modding it and without appearing that I voided the warranty. Keeping the box unopened I plan to tap the quick disconnects with intermediaries, and am using a USB extension on the original cord to tap the Vcc and D+ and D- off the PCB. I only had to solder on the VLX to the Guide and Back button on the top daughter board where the ribbon cables solder to. I can solder off those two wires and nobody will be the wiser.
Now getting the Ascii Optical joystick in there, I had to make a daughterboard to have the original harness to plug into and did some hacking to make a pass through. Lastly, for the RJ-45, I am not going to drill the case I am just going to have a ethernet coupler in the cord compartment.
Pop the cover off of that bad boy so we can see the new Hori 360 pcb

Sorry, Iām trying to maintain the warranty sticker and plan to do the Dual MCC mod without damaging anything so it is revertable incase the Hori PCB shits out on me. Networkingyuppy thankfully hooked it up with the pictures.
I got my my daughterās stick via UPS an hour ago, Iāve already desoldered the PCB from the buttons and Dremelād the tabs off the button holes, yanked the art and put the white plexi cover and new buttons on.
Iām taking a break with a Sam Adams before I solder the new wires/quick disconnects to the PCB and finish it up.

What size are the LEDs in the Turbo panel of the SE/TE sticks? And are they the same size as the 360 Ring next to it?
0805 according to my notes. Pretty certain theyāre the same for both turbo and guide ring LEDs. Easy way to check is grab a caliper and measure the width of a single LED. If the width shows as 0.05", then its an 0805.
I said it before and Iāll say it again: Iām not so sure if I like this JLW. I finally got my VAS-HG wires up temporarily to make sure somethings work. Even modding the spring it feels like a half breed - not quite as loose or accurate ad a JLF, not quite as stiff and familiar as a Happ Competition. Some of it could be chalked up to a square gate and levered microswitches, some of it could be just getting used to it. Hitting diagonals is no problem with the square gate; my charge moves suffer for some reasun, while I have absolutely no problem with the Competition. Iāll swap with the circle gate to see if I like it anymore, but Iām seriously thinking about just going all Seimitsu with this project and dropping in a LS-32 and switching between my 2 sticks if I want an american stick or japanese stick. This halfway stiff doesnāt feel too good, especially if you have the real thing already.
