Best Ultimate Tech Talk Hang Out Loud Edition Season V

Yo MarkMan, how does one get one of those TE Keychains with the hex tool in it?

I know its like… CES/E3 only so far… but is there any other way?

Looks like the forums were updated. Just testing quick reply for expected double post.

good, i always hated that glitch with the double post.

btw i went back to the stock JLF spring my accuracy with rogs rush punches were way better then with eh clipped LS-55 and old jlf layered over. my execution went down when i used the layered springs.

All the links redirect to shoryuken.com, so all the old links work now!

try it, go to http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=223705&page=34 and watch the redirect magic

Double posts are still there. Also saving edits in any mode doesn’t load the edited message (unlike before where it was just in quick edit).

Ah well, I still miss vBulletin 3 and Blue Steel. Post count is back which I’m sure is unintentional.

Edit: Definitely still double posting.

Well now you get two posts for the price of one

I thought they were supposed to bring back Blue Steel?

I’m guessing someone decided it was too much work. I have the old stylesheet for it. If there was a trial of VB I would load it up and play around with the themes.

Does anyone know the power consumption of the madcatz 4716 usb pad?

That’d be cool, I’ll try that.

I’ve been trying for three days to do this :frowning: I’ll keep working on it but its ticking me off.

I should be able to do that.

This board is made for a single channel LED. I’d love to make a controller for RGB LEDs because the options would be crazy awesome. The problem is, I can’t bring myself to do it because the wiring would be an absolute nightmare. At best, right now, the RGB channels could be daisy chained, with each button requiring connection to the RGB channels, an LED specific ground going to the controller, and the signal line and ground to the microswitch going back to the game controller board. Even that would be nasty nasty wiring.

Really want RGB? We need a way to modify the arc-eye so that everything for the button (RGB channels, LED ground, microswitch signal and microswitch true ground) all goes to a single connector, preferably a 2x3 0.1" pitch header. If someone can make that happen, then each button could have a dedicated ribbon cable going from the LED controller to the button, and we’d have clean and easy wiring. If that can happen, I’ll make the all signing all dancing RGB LED controller of doom.

EVO, if any of you guys are going there.

Also our next web store promo too!

That would be one hellafied ribbon cable!

Hold one for me and I’ll hunt you down there

me too!!

Hmm, based on the number of requests, I really should start charging people for downloads whenever I make an NSFW template. As a form of “age verification” off course.

Damn, if only I could go to EVO. Damn Pacific Ocean.

Just hacked my first pad which was also my first time EVER soldering. It was a PS2 Nubytech Street Fighter 15th Anniversary Chun Li pad.

Everything went fine, all of my joints are strong enough to tug on (didn’t hot glue them yet but I do plan to do that). They look pretty clean too. I suck at taking care of my iron tip and keeping it tinned, it’s black as the night and doesn’t work very well anymore. I really need to learn how to properly care for it(and how to fix the mess I made out of it!)

But, I digress, the pad looks great and all joints are strong. I plugged in into my PS2 and put PS1 Tekken 3 in and tested all the inputs (by touching the ground wire to one of the wires I soldered) and all of them work wonderfully. I made sure I turned all of the inputs on in the options mode and none of the inputs stick like I screwed up the ground or anything.

I’m really excited about it and I can’t believe how well I did my first time.

Seriously considering applying my site to the SRK Network. I wonder though if they’ll accept a new site that barely has any traffic.

Peeling ribbon cable is a pain in the ass.

no joke, my fingers hurt today .
