I built and painted an arcade stick which at first would only need one start button because of the console it was going to be used for. Now, I’ve decided to use it for the PS3. What would be the best way to drill 2 more holes without messing up the paint as much? Smaller buttons? Different location other than the painted area?
Why don’t I put 2 holes on the bottom and glue the buttons so that they’re facing down and to press the button you would have to put your finger inside the case!
Anyone happen to know where I can pick up a bulk pack of pcb feet? I know Chad has them in sets of 4 but I wanted to grab a jumbo pack, thanks in advance
I was always curious about these things. Not that I wanted one, just wondering why it had such a following (heard a friend talk about it, huge message forums, etc.). I’m just getting into PIC stuff (well, on my own. I did to a tiny bit for a lab in college) and it’s pretty similar to my experience with Motorola parts (now called Freescale). I do a lot of 8/16 bit stuff @ work on Freescale stuff. Mostly just handling general purpose I/O and then handing that off to a proprietary communication ASIC. Once you’ve built your core functions, it’s just a matter of adding a feature here and there and keeping customers happy.
I finally got the turbo thing figured out, and I had to change to a different 360 pad because I couldn’t tap into the trace. Everything had tested out fine, and I was just gluing it up when one of my cats came charging out of nowhere, jumped onto my counter, and bumped into the stick. When the stick shifted, a wire caught on my helping hands and then tore off (guess what?) the hot glue, solder contact, and leads to the home button on the original HRAP3 PCB. It’s trashed. I’ll have to scrap the PCB and replace it with a Cthuhlu.
By my time it’s ProtomanSTi’s B-day today. Let’s give a shout-out to him.
Thanks for making that wonderful thread about putting custom art onto a TE. That was the only guide I read to learn how to do that when I first started to at least show up on SRK.com more.
Been wondering, with the new MK just announced and DOA5 apparently listed for E3, will MadCatz be producing TEs for these games as well? We wan’t to know Mark!
So anyone wanting to get a VAS-HG, you know where you can get your art for it now. Remember, every paid commission brings me closer to a new stick (possibly even my own VAS-HG).
You want a really hard stick? Try cutting an LS-55 spring down by 2/3rds and putting that bad boy in. Amazing that such a tiny spring (smaller when clipped) can make a square gate feel like and octogate, yet lose none of the execution accuracy. I luvs it.
(Real talk: I really only replied because certain parties here feel powerfully compelled to fap to Her Bounciness every time I make a post )
1: did that in my personal taylor swift fightstick. i main charge and dont need a octo to do 360s. i didnt clip it though i liked how the tightness the LS-55 as is. I will keep that in mind as the spring gets used more. i only play like every other day so its gonna be a while lol. i have a JLW spring but its too wide to fit i was curious to how it would feel in a jlf. i actually have a octo in the stick i took that spring out of, i left it as is because they said it was fine.
