First time making a fully custom stick. Got all my parts save for a hacked PCB, which I’m still undecided about which to use. Though I’m leaning towards a PS/2 since I have PS/2>almost anything converters; any recommendations on which to use are appreciated. Good experience all-in-all, even though carelessness has lead to a couple minor issues when building my case.
Need to ask a quick question… What is the correct mapping for a JLF Wiring Harness?
I’ve got two sources telling me different things, and quickly browsing through various threads didn’t find a definitive answer
Only smaller because of the slimmer sides, other than that, they’re practically the same. According to MarkMan, you can even swap the sides of both sticks around.
has he done anything to it lately? like taken out the joystick and put it back in? he may have just hooked the joystick up wrong i did that once when i first took out the joystick when i first got it.
Just got this through the mail today. Going to start doing my first mod out of tupperware on a PS1 PCB. Wish me luck. Got this kit from Kitchy, thanks a lot man.
So I was wondering…What cabinets are known for using the ls-56, ls-40, ls-55, ls-33 sticks? I’d guess a SHUMP of some kind with the exception of the ls-33.
I mean I here about cabs like candies having either JLFs or ls-32s.
I’m guessing there’s no actual standard for this, just arcade operator preference.
This is something that has puzzled me since the very first “arcade” fighter sticks came out long ago. They always advertise street fighter sticks as being “straight out of the arcades!” and “just like the arcade!” blah blah, but since ive ever known sf in the arcades they always use bat tops instead of ball tops with their sticks, yet home sticks always have ball tops. I always imagined “just like the arcades” would copy the bat top but it never happened. I know you can get a bat top mod but why the strange omission if every arcade machine uses bats?
I recently made my V3SA very heavy by putting magnets inside, stuck to the top and bottom panels. Is this going to hurt anything? I am thinking of the cell phone in my pocket when I put the stick on my lap but also the pcb.
European cabinets used either bat-top (iL/Happ) or ball-top (Suzo) sticks.
Also, bat-tops are poorly manufactured now, and they’re MUCH bigger to install, which increases stick size, which increases shipping cost/decreases inventory size, which makes them unfavourable these days when Asian sticks are much smaller.
