probably going to gut my SE stick, mod it for PS3 i think now for tourneys, and maybe go wild with the faceplate
just thought it was about time i went up to the TE stick now hope they are worth it!!
What ever happened to the Hori VX that was supposed to replace the ex2?

Dunno, it almost feels like Hori has dropped them in favor of the wireless FS series.

That’s actually a Very sexy idea, might have to look into that…
Toodles:
Google’s SketchUp is pretty damn easy to use, I have to admit. Took maybe an hour to get the hang of how to specify lengths so I could get some precision, but once I got that, it’s been pretty slick.
I have a buddy who uses that and has made some pretty sweet home designs.

Well that’s a shame I really like my ex2. I was hoping to mod the vx too!

After making my led mod do a fade out after letting go of the button I now ponder how to make it fade in.
RC circuit with a long time constant is your friend for both of those XD
if you want I can bust out my old circuits notes for those specific scenarios when I get home.
also, Rnd. 2 of prototyping begins, aaaaaand here we go.

that would be great if you could please. I’m really digging the fade out effect and wonder how well a fade in would look.
Using an RC filter, since you want a huge tau=R*C, you’d probably have a huge R, which means the available current would either be too low to light the LED, or the LED would just drain the cap in no time. You’d have to use the RC filter going to a rail-to-rail opamp setup for -1 multiplication (Vout=Vin * -1) so you’d have power available that wouldn’t upset the RC filter. Plus, since the signal line is high when not pressed and low when pressed, you’d need the * -1 to flip it around to power the LED on press.
Proper. Fucking. Response.
Ugh, I’m having a hard time waiting on my multimeter! I got sticks that need modding! >.<
I’ll try to come up with a small circuit tonight. If I come up with something successful I’ll let you know ASAP.

You mean HRAP VX SA?
Because the 3 in V3 is exclusive for PlayStation 3.
Laugh.

I stand corrected. VX. I didn’t know it had a different name on 360.
What are your opinions on the hori ex2?

I have two of them.
Had three.
Own six Arcade Sticks total.
But I still use my EX2 for playing; stock.
6-Button is cooler.
8-Button is dick.
So I’m guessing the PCB and stock parts arent so bad? And it’s pretty mod-able too I assume.

imo the hori ex2 is utter garbage in terms of trying to mod.
