If I go the EL route, I will be dropping you a line for that, for sure! I talked to VMS, who did the original one. I’ll make the decision once the case is finished.
For the life of me, I cant remember what I did with the old Capcom Power Stick that my brother used to have. It very well may still be in the drawer at my parents house. Used it twice, hated it, never used it again
My fightpad is about to die. It gets stuck in upwards directions all the time. Should I open it and see if I can do something about it, or just give up and buy a new one? I have been using it intensly for a long time.
open it up, it’s long out of warranty and chances are it’s the rubber backing just wearing out/tearing. you’ll see it immediately if that’s the issue (that’s what mine was). Call madcatz, they’ll send you new ones for free.
Also:
god damnit, I only ordered them a few days ago but I want my design kit samples! >.< Iwantiwantiwantiwant
Some of the arcades I go to over here have sticks that have been in their candy cabs since the turn of the century. In this environment, you learn how to win on loose sticks or else you end up wasting your Php5 (equivalent to 1 US cent, except for T6 and SFIV which go for the equivalent 50 US cents).
I have this fancy idea where you use two art pieces, one film with a nice translucent design, and another card stock that sort of masks bits of the design for a desired effect. Not sure if it’s practical though, of even if the extra art piece is needed.
That may be needed anyway. If I’m not mistaken, the panel is a little shorter than the actual template. The panel is A4 sized, wich is about 11 inches. I believe the template is 12 inches, which meand I need a 1/2 inch border of black on either side. Trimming it would be a serious PITA to be sure…
That’s exactly what I meant. However, no… fixing it with tape or glue will most likely not cut it, it needs to be flexible in order to work correctly. You can experiment with stuff and see if you come across something I never thought of, but I called madcatz and had them send me some replacements, I’m not sure how they’ll handle the shipping but you can ask… it can’t hurt. There are other shady ways to getting replacements, but that’s a little frowned upon
its not loose as a think about it. both sticks were the same way and the one i stretched the spring out on. i didnt use that stick once i got my round two which is why i gave it to my niece.
god forbid it, but i’m thinking of modding my namco stick.
i’m not fond of the lightness and the square gate.
for the square gate, i’m gonna replace it with a sanwa octagon gate. not much of a mod here and the process is easily reversible.
however, for the weight issue. theres two things i can do. add lead weights inside it or make an enclosure.
i think i’ll go with the enclosure route but its too much work. i don’t want to add lead weights inside since the stick is pretty compact. it’ll take a lot of lead weights to add another 5 lbs.
One thing I saw somebody do is to take rolls of pennies and duck tape them together like dynamite and use double sided tape. A roll of pennies only cost 50 cents! Looks like they could be useful for something.
wow i really should not post 10 mins after i wake up.

It’s not as loose as I thought it was. Both fightsticks had the same feel, but now my Round one is tighter since i stretched the spring. my round one felt the same as the out of the box round two. I ended up giving the round one to my niece since I got the round two
