Yeah, the newest CRT I have is actually an arcade monitor I bought from Wells-Gardner to retrofit an old arcade cabinet to use MAME with. Manufactured January 2007. Works like a champ and has a direct VGA connection to boot. Unfortunately I can’t really transport it anywhere since it’s pretty much a completely open tube. Haven’t seen anything newer since, and W-G pulled almost all the CRTs from their site about a month after I ordered that monitor. Sad…
Can’t really find anything on the LS-32 through straight googling, and i don’t have the tools to measure it that accurately either
Personally though what I had in mind was just a wire harness with quick disconnects on one end and a connector for the SE/TE on the other end, like what I did. Just…not as ghetto
So…Why not make one? You know the QD’s are normal 0.187" QDs, and the other end that plugs into the TE/SE board is a JST brand 5 pin XH or EH connector:
Digi-Key - 455-2268-ND (Manufacturer - XHP-5)
and needs some crimp pins:
Digi-Key - 455-1135-1-ND (Manufacturer - SXH-001T-P0.6)
Crimp the QDs to the wires including the ground daisy chain. Take the five wires, crimp the JST pins to the other ends, and insert into the connector. Viola, TE/SE -> LS-33 harness.
Sitting around wondering where I can get some HAPP microswitches…the ones on the happ site are 4 bucks each, which is robbery.
Ponyboy used to sell Cherry switches as best I remember. I would hit him up.

I got three albums on vinyl today for 75 cents total.
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell
Black Sabbath - Live Evil
Not a huge Dio fan but whatcha gonna do?
Master of puppets is a great pick up at a quarter.
He no longer sells them. =(
so just recently i found out the MC cthulu picked up DC support.
and i just found out there is a custom pcb that is xbox 360 compatible.
i always have tech talk open as a tab, how the hell am i missing such big news?
FG TECH IS EVOLVING SO QUICKLY. MIND = BLOWN
It’s not very new news, at least. So you haven’t missed too too much. But yes, soon we will have small cookie-sized ovens ready to be dropped into TEs, to allow for fresh cookies during the most intense moments of battle, it’s all just a matter of somehow drawing more than 500 mA of current. We’re considering batteries as well as DC adapters. Let us know if you have any suggestions.
Why not harness the kinetic energy used to press the buttons? Every time you press a button or move the joystick the more you store up energy. Convert the stored up energy into heat and boom cookies!
press jab 1,000,000 times and pop comes a muffin
Ingenious! You have a muffin warning when it’s time to replace those OBSF-30s! But, I think a manly Seimitsu player could manage that in 500k pushes with all the extra effort they like to put in them.
Maybe you should figure this out for the joystick and all 8 buttons, too. Maybe you could make a super-long charged project Leo set-up going! Play intense wireless matches for days on end!
really? its not a big deal? i was under the impression that cracking the 360 controllers was a nearly insurmountable task, i was really surprised when the paewangs came out and stuff.
i mean now theres several ways to get dual modding besides getting like a 360 + chimp/cthulu (~$50-60)
paewang ~$45, ps360 ~$50, with much less soldering and work too if i might add. i personally thought it was exciting but i guess thats just me :-X
Ugh, I hate it when people think that a collage is a great idea for stick art.
Titties or nothing, baby.
Someone should program a counter that will count the number of times each button has been pressed. Maybe it could store the data somewhere
I’m stuck trying to figure out what SNES controller to gut for its PCB. I have a pair of these which are my favorite.

I have one real SNES controller. And I have an ASCII Fighter Pad with six face buttons.
Meh.
agreed. Personally, the simpler, the better.
Probably the nicest stick i’ve seen in a long while.
That stinks. If $2.50 isn’t too spendy you can take them from these. I’d also contact Chad and see if he can stock them separately.
IL 1 Player Imprint Pushbutton, Black
Indeedy. This is the first stick I’ve oogled over in a long time. It would look nice with a variety of color swaps.
2L12B goes for 6,900¥ at Akihabarashop. Sadly, the 2P Blast City version of this panel doesn’t seem to be in production anymore.
Dear SNES ASCII Fighter pad,
Thank you for your contribution.
