Nice.
I still want a Galaxian 3 cab.
gettin tired of seeing the flood of TE, SE paint or art, button swap and it getting passed for a custom these days.
misses the days when Big Pockets, Finkle, Byrdo were making sticks. Thinking about whether or not I should start a thread for fully custom sticks only, (no art, button, paint swap), but fully created from scratch.
the custom thread is just not like how it used to beā¦
Iām going to take two of the yellow buttons on my MvC stick and have them swap places. Iāll post it in the custom stick thread.
(if itās not stock, itās custom)
I feel exactly the same, but in all fairness to noobs, the title of the thread is āCheck out my new arcade stick!ā not āCheck out my new CUSTOM arcade stick!ā
This could be nice. Just make sure the opening post is explicit about cases having to be hand made, as Comrade Tao pointed out, otherwise teh madness will start all over again. Maybe call it, āCheck out my new HAND BUILT arcade stick!ā

lol!
Big Pockets scared everyone else who makes customs when he showed off his Ragna stick.

First PSN goes down Monday, then my ISP cuts me off for 24 hoursā¦
I got shit DONE when I dont have immediate distractions.
Gah damn there was a lot of glue on my headset jackās molex plug on my TE. The port looks like a damn flower now with how much bending I put on that plastic.
So when shall we be expecting the Rosetta Board, then? XD
Iāve noticed what looks like a clone of the original PS1 Hori FS going around some shops here. Am tempted to get one just to see if I can mod it (with Hori parts since I have a few lying around).
Iām all for this. I spoke up about it months ago in the thread because, although I donāt doubt the pride and work that those guys put in to swapping their art and buttons, the sheer amount of them really does dilute the hand built stuff on show, and letās face it, once youāve seen one youāve seen them all. Many times Iāve posted up a stick only to have it vanish under pages and pages of TEs & SEs in a Willy Wonka array of colours.
Not that Iām saying mine are worthy of note, but I do think there is a vast gulf of difference between a completely handmade stick and a 30 minute button/stick swap job (oo er), there needs to be separate threads, especially with the impending release of SSFIV.
Itās only TEs, SEs, and Hraps that seem to bother me though, I do like to see a good Agetec/Namco mod. Would you call that double standards?
Madcatz houses the SE USB cord too tightly to the case. :shake:
Bastard wont come off >.<
Finally got the website up, hate the stock templates thoughā¦ah well gonna be a busy weekend anyway
Soujistiks.com
Ah, nice one. I hope youāre gonna upload more pics. Youāve got a boatload of fantastic work, but only 3 pictures on there.
ā¦and yeah, thereās a lot of modded sticks on the customs thread these days, but I think anybody worth their salt knows that thereās far more work and planning goes into a scratch built stick than a mod job.
I didnāt have a problem taking mine outā¦o.O
Whatās the problem, exactly? Other than āit wonāt come off/outā, lol.
Haha, I feel the same on that too, although it is indeed a double standard :razzy: Iāve spent a good deal of time on my Capcom Power Stick Fighter (and Iām still not done ) and it had nothing to do with swapping art or figuring out how to solder to a pcb.

If itās not stock, itās custom. The level of customization, however, is another story. Some people just donāt have the time or skill to make a full blown custom hewn out of solid billet aluminum or carved from a sequoia tree, but theyāre still proud of their handiwork, even if it is baby steps. I say lighten up a bit andl et them get some shine too.
Mind you, I see your point. Replacing the buttons in your TE is not in the same league as a b15 or Big Pockets custom. But Iād hate for someone whoās just starting to feel their efforts arenāt good enough to warrant a little shine.
I guess I see it like car racing. There are different classes. Wanna get excited about 1up-ing people in your same class? Right on! Keep it up! The fact though is, you will never realistically run your stock car against an Indy 500 racer.

i think im gonna tighten the stock screws a lil tighter and put a smiley face sticker on the start button.
Hey its not stock so I guess I got a custom stick.
You know I just dont like how lots of people put hard work into scratch building a stick then it gets overshadowed by the sticks which were not scratch built.
Maybe a thread for modded store bought and scratch built customs? I understand that when you mod a stock stick its exciting and all, I was like that with my first Hori. But, I feel these are two different entities we are dealing with here.
