Just started working on fitting a Dreamcast controller inside a VMU. I know it sounds impossible/ridiculous/preposterous, but I’m making really good progress. It’ll end up like one of those project boxes that people make for universal joysticks. And yes, the VMU will still be fully functional (well, minus the annoying “BEEP” every time you turn the system on without fresh CR2032 batteries inside :annoy:).

Haha wow, I really want to see a picture of that when it’s done. I assume it’s for use with the Agetec stick, as a (really bitchin’) project box or something?

Has anybody heard any information on this?^ At first glance, it looks like an ls-32-01 flash, but i have no clue why that huge thing is. Looks like it will need a lot of clearance.
It’s a stick with built in vibration. Look at the offset weight in the picture. It looks like there are solder tabs for microswitches on the board, so I suspect it’d still be a microswitch based stick.
shit, i was kind of suspecting it would be something else. i would buy one just for shits and giggles
Actually, I did not have that in mind, but that would be pretty cool to use a pile of VMU’s as project boxes for an Agetec stick :bgrin:
Pretty much the only pad that wouldn’t fit inside a VMU is for XBOX 360. The smallest I can do on that is a MadCatz retro joystick inside of one of those clear cases for the original GameBoy carts (yes, I’ve actually done this, tested/working).

Dude, vmu project boxes on an agetec would be the coolest thing ever.
Was just watching a guy repair the JLF mounting on an Astro City cab (with MvC1) over lunch at a local arcade. Couldn’t help but get warm, fuzzy feelings while doing so, especially since the guy sat on the machine and started playing afterwards, would’ve challenged him to until he started doing infinites with Gambit, then realized that my Marvel skills were no where near that level.
Buy it and see if you can get it to rumble.
I will buy it, but first I need to find out the pricing of one of these bad boys.
Just got my plexiglass covers (HRAP3 and TE) from jello900 (anyone in the Philippines who wants this done should get in touch with him) as well as 6 red Seimitsu PS-14-KNs and red bubble top, he even gave me a free red shaft cover.
EDIT: Jello also does customs, I believe MarkMan has already expressed interest in getting one.
Yeah I have been eying his works. If I would blow money for a second stick, it’s a tossup between a Qanba and a Jello custom. I’m not sure if Jello does delivery (to Cebu) though.
Everytime I go to the mall I check if the sole HRAP3 in stock is still there, hoping that I can hold on to some money and get it. Before I got my Sanwa parts the only way I tried to feel them first was by sitting down in an idle machine (SC3:AE hardly gets any play) and twirling the stick around and pressing buttons. I’m glad I eventually got my parts for modding.
Also, today I discovered an electronics store that sells microswitches and some cheap tiny pushbuttons. I bought two pushbuttons to replace clumsy pressure pads for start/select on my modded stick.
So i was at work browsing for some parts and found a USB > RJ45 cable from an old Back Up Battery, since no one is going to ever use that im going to grab it for my dual stick mod
The first time you try to mod a stick usually starts like a Top Gear challenge, you tell yourself “how hard can it be,” it also usually ends up like a Top Gear challenge (turns out quite ahrder than you thought it would be).
So… I’m waiting on Art to get back to me on the feasibility of the artwork I sent him for a full acrylic TE top.
My cursor has been hovering over the “buy” button for a pure black Seimitsu rig w/ black meshball all day.
hello all-
If anyone can give me some advice it will be valued i promise, Starting on my first stick i’m looking for a site for 360 pcb. Any ideas on where i could get one? i have etokki.com but it is kind of pricey.
Thank you in advance!
I can’t find that thread where we post all the cool stuff we just bought.
Just buy a MadCatz 360 pad and padhack it. Only reason to buy from etokki is if you want that Datel/Joytron dual console PCB.
that new hori VLX is a total bullcrap
costs a fortune for no particular reason
I want a Namco Galaxian 3 cab.
