It is and it isn’t.For gameplay it doesn’t matter at all, but diversity is important to reflect the demographic of the people playing the game. Blonde Whiter 5 has done a poor job of this so far, so hopefully the final two characters and additional DLC fixes that.
My expectations arent exactly high when they make a Kenyan character(Elena) have light brown skin, white hair and ocean blue eyes. They’ve always been relatively clueless and blatantly offensive with their designs. Word to Dee Jay and T.Hawk. But I do hope they get it right in a time where racial sensitivity and respect should be at the forefront.
Laura looks dope though and I like that they paid homage to afro-brazilians by having her hair in a traditional African style with the corn rows. I really dig that.

Son, its a fighting game Idgaf about my race being represented. My favorite characters are Gouki, Dictator, and Ken. A japanese man who tans too much, a Thai, and a half japanese half white guy. I absolutely hate Elena and Deejay.

Maybe she will be more like a counter character than a hybrid grappler.
