Sakura:
Good combos and evasion of Makotoās command grabs. I donāt know if thereās a different combo you can do after cr.mp into tatsu, but find a followup you can reliably hit. I donāt think you ever combod into st.lk into EX tatsu during the match. Also your neutral game is very obvious. Tatsus are punishable if they donāt fully connect so try to keep those to combos. Donāt just jump forward all the time, the Makoto shouldāve reacted to the jump and anti-aired you.
Makoto:
Karakusa is a good grab but you have to use it sparingly for it to be effective, otherwise the opponent will just backdash or neutral jump on wakeup every time. Either anti-air Sakura more or dash under her when she jumps. Fukiage is an awkward anti-air but an effective one. Jump cancel into Tsurugi for a knockdown and extra damage. Thatāll stop Sakura from jumping at you as much so you can do what you want more. Youāve got the best forward dash in the game, it goes crazy far, so use it defensively and dash under Sakura while sheās trying to cross you up.
Thanks for taking time to watch. I am the blanka player
You need to stop dropping your combos - EX electricity, and also cr.lkās into s.lp xx ball. Also, that Chun Li couldnāt anti-air you and you jumped a lot. Not hard to figure out who would win there.
I agree, the Chun was very passive and was not responding to Blanka troll tactics very well. :shake:
Kikokens vs sliding Blanka are a no-no, plus his hitbox is funny so you gott change up your bnb a little to get max hits off EX legs.
Donāt ball or slide at her when she has Ultra or full Super, you will get punished. Also take the time to bait out safe jump her EX Spinning Bird, she hit you with that as reversal many times.
Thank you for the feedback.
I want to know if my ibuki is any goodā¦and where I can improve. I seem to be decent on Xbox live. My gamertag is correcTechnique if anybody wants to fight. Iāll post a couple recent matches from earlier today.

long story short, your opponents were beginners and tall characters are naturally countered by ibuki (not as much of an issue at higher levels) so donāt get too excited over winning those matches.
pros:
-your execution seems consistent and you can do chains and special moves without problems
-you showed a cool head and patience at the beginning of the hugo match. assuming you were trying to bait 360s by waiting for him outside of that range, thatās a respectable tactic
-air chains do work exceptionally well against tall characters, so i canāt really fault you for that
cons:
-too many patterns. you did c.hk after every single f+mk except one. just because you do an overhead does not mean that the best next option is a low move, especially in a game with parrying. whatās obvious or intuitive to you is usually going to be obvious to the other player too.
-c.hk-s.hk as a chain is unsafe. hugo is often forced to block both hits because of his size, but other characters will just block the c.hk, stay crouched under the s.hk and punish. donāt get too attached to close lp-mp-c.hk as a chain because most characters will duck the second hit of the mp so the rest of the chain cannot be done in the first place
-not only did you start both rounds against q with the same move, but neckbreaker is unsafe and easily punished on block. what if q didnāt jump at the beginning of round 2? what if he blocked the neckbreaker and did close mk, mp dash punch xx sa1? youād be down to 50% health all because you guessed that it would hit, without being sure
-you kept doing d/f+mk then ex uppercut. what if the opponent didnāt press anything? get used to the habit of assuming your move will not hit then taking advantage of it when it does, instead of assuming that it will hit and hoping the opponent doesnāt know what to do with their opportunity
-qās taunt decreases the damage he takes. donāt let him do it. this couldāve been the one time that neckbreaker was useful!
tips:
-learn how to use a much wider array of strings, combos, and pokes (see wiki, ibuki forum, etc.)
-play better players. this might actually be less fun at first, but hey, you asked how to improve
-type xiao, higa, aruka, or atsushi into youtube and see what comes up. watch, enjoy, and take notes
I see what youāre saying. Iām going to try and switch it up. In retrospect my moves are quite predictable. Iāll fight again soon and post the results of those that arenāt shoto spammers
I finally landed my first dash ultra in a game!!! :DDDD
Havenāt playing in a month (it feels like a month), havenāt Dee Jay in two so I played like shit but just wanted to share.

This thread was the reason I sighted up for the this site and it saddenes me to see it die so this is a desperate attempt to bring it back to life
GJ sir
Itās a sticky so I doubt it will go anywhere soon. We just need more guys to stop being shy and use the thread. I still check in from time to time, but I only help with vids where I feel I understand enough to help.
Hello all, I would like to get some tips on how to improve my game. Let me start off by saying Iāve only been play for about a month and as you can tell from the video Iām not very good( Iām the one playing as yun if you couldnāt tell ). Also I play on keyboard which I personally donāt think is all that good for this game ( just my opinion I know that there are a lot of good keyboard players out there ). I ordered a stick a few days ago and hopefully once I get used to it I would be able to improve. So yeah any specific tips besides just keep practicing( because I do plan on practicing a lot more ) would be great. Thanks in advanced to anyone who replies.
Yeah, while you can do stuff on the keyboard, getting a different controller may be beneficial. Learn to do combos I suppose. If you canāt achieve what you want on keyboard even after some practice, do switch to a stick or pad asap (it will also really help, esp if you will attend offline sessions).
I know Yun is a divekick character, but you also have to be careful about overusing divekick and jumping too much. Sakura hit you with her c. hp anti-air many times. Keep practicing your combos and learn how to sustain pressure on your opponent.
Look for guides like these, there are a lot on YT:
Thereās a lot of matchvids too. Search for āKazunoko Yun SF4ā, as it is heās currently THE Yun to look out for.
Looking for a critique on my Ibuki. There are a few things Iām already aware of, such as the bad habit of raw neckbreackers and ultras, as well as execution errors, but aside from that, Iām curious what other people think. These matches are against a friend so Iāve probably developed a few bad habits against him personally as well. He only recently switched to Balrog and Iām having a really hard time approaching him, the jabs are so good for Balrog.
Heck, if anyone wants to critique the Balrog as well, go ahead. And sorry for the stock YouTube music, it caught audio from the show I was watching on another monitor while recording, so I replaced the audio.

That is a good start that you are already aware of some of your bad habits. I saw many of them in your video. What have you done to correct them?
1:15 Missed opportunity for more damage. Learn basic combos.
In addition to those you tend to do a lot of random jump ins an example would be about 2:30 into the video.
At 3:59 you could have scored a knockdown after TC4 but did not go for a special after.
4:44 neckbreaker after blocked combo - unsafe
4:58 your unsure what to do after a focus attack hit. An example would be to dash foward and use ultra 1.
Some good things that I see in the video are that you already know to to cancel into neck breaker at the end of TC4. And you do a decent job blocking against some of your friends attacks.
When you do get a knock down do you have a specific game plan such as safe jumps or kunai vortex?
Sorry for any errors im on my phone.
I would review the footsies handbook(link below) to help your basic gameplay development.

I also recommend checking the ibuki forums for more information.
Get a hold of Mingo Dynasty on the Ibuki forums if heās still there. :china:

Well itās obvious you are a beginner and there is alot that can be improved upon, alot.
First of all i like how you donāt press your luck when someone is knocked down and youāve baited alot of reversal dpās and counters by the dudley.
But that is about most of the things i can compliment on xD
In general you need to Anti-Air, Punish better and use Hitconfirms.
You also have 5 other buttons aside of the heavy kick you donāt use haha.
You want to control the space in front if you, stopping people from advancing, it is what Ryu does best.
Dudley is susceptible to low attacks because of his advancing moves and good walk speed. Throw out cr.mk xx hadoken so that the end of Ryu his cr.mk will only hit. This is also the range people like to jump at. So before you do this you want people to stop from jumping, to force them to stay on the ground. Although dudley can go around fireballs fairly easily because of his duck it is good to throw it out more, especially outside of dudley his jump in range.
When anti-airing people try to use hp shoryuken, most damage. You can buffer the motion before people jump and press the hp then. You can do this from a crouching position so it isnāt obvious. You do df, db, df, basically roll your thumb if you are on a pad.
Only Dudley his light machinegunblow is āsafeā every other machinegunblow is -4 or more so you can atleast do a dragonpunch.Dudley his light machinegunblow has the shortest distance and duration so itās easy to discern between the other versions, donāt challenge with buttons after this basically. Sweep is also a good punish for his heavy machinegunblow though more difficult to time. EX machinegunblow is -8 so you can do more probably like cr.mp/mk xx whatever.
I havenāt seen one hitconfirm and this is something youāll need. At one time you did a cl.hp xx tatsu on his wakeup, but you didnāt hitconfirm it. If he blocked he could have punished youā¦though maybe not this dudley Set the training dummy to random block. If you do cr.lp cr.lp and he blocks try a throw, if it hits continue combo and do a cr.mp, cr.mk xx hadoken. Though you can do this combo on block too but someone might reversal through it. This way you train yourself seeing the attacks hit and your offense will be alot more scary. Also donāt use cr.hk when being pressured, when someone has tight blokcstrings and good frametraps you will get counterhit or grabbed out of your cr.hk. If you must press buttons do a dragonpunch when you ahve 2 meters to fadc or a crouchtech(db+throw).
In general look up good Ryu players(Daigo, Valle etc) and see what they do in alot of situations, how do they control space, how do they deal with people jumping, what do they do when being pressured, how do they apply pressure, which combos and blockstrings do they use etc.
I recently played a couple matches. Some against good players some against average players. Point out any holes in my gameplay you see. The few that I can see is Abusing Condor Dive, Jumping, random DPs, and bad blocking on cross ups. Any criticism is appreciated.
