I always find the hate for DMC4 funny cause I personally like it a lot more then 3. 3 is great an all but I was playing it a few months ago and just ended up turning it off cause the demons are boring as hell to fight. I know I’m in the minority on this one but I feel really strongly about the enemies you fight being fun to fight. You can have all the options in the world but if what your fighting is mentally challenged then what does it matter?
I think Bayonetta is better then DMC3 or 4 by a wide margin.
I still say DMC1 is where the challenge is at for DMC games. DMC3 is good and can be hard, but DMC1 utterly rapes you even on Normal like there’s no tomorrow.
I think DMC3s DMD mode is harder cause you have to deal with crap like Enigmas and Soul Eaters teamed up with Hell Vanguards and shit. Not to mention it takes so long to kill anything on DMD it kind of just puts you to sleep after a while lol.
well they did state DMC4 wouldn’t get DLC. Though when that was announced, I just expected them to put a shitload of extras in the main game. How disappointed I was. Shit that was a staple in the past games wasn’t even included.
I know right? No extra costumes, LDK-style, nothing. What you get in the main game is it(unless you count Super Nero/Dante. Oh and Bloody Palace). Bayonetta has a shit load of extras, including Super Bayonetta and a Bloody Palace mode, but also broken ass unlockables(like your magic gauge is used for Witch Time, kinda like a Devil Trigger), and two unlockable characters in Jeanne and Zero, and about half a dozen different outfits(some coming in three colors. Pink > *).
So, I like the little nods to different games. So far I’ve found:
not really spoilers, but whatever
[details=Spoiler]
“Dancing a go go, baby” (Viewtiful Joe)
“Whaddaya buyin? I heard that in a game once” (RE4)
Luka listing his young ladies: Trish (DMC), Silvia (Viewtiful Joe), I forget who else
Any more?[/details]
This game is awesome, and most of the time, the framerate is amazing as well. I heard there’s less screen tearing if you set it to 720p. I’m in 1080p and I might have to switch to see if its better, I’ve encountered a good amount of screen tearing.
of course this game has to be better than the DMC’s becuase is still the same team it made the original DMC, no surprise in that
what I think I hate about this game is the lack of originality in the characters
a witch sara palin that fights give me a brake, she’s basically she-dante
also I don’t know where the DMC3 hype comes from, the game was better than DMC 2 that’s for sure, good acting, good dificulty but in some areas it can’t beat DMC1. I haven’t played 4 but is doesn’t seem that innovating either.
Alright, just beat the game, clocked in at eight and a half hours game time. I agree with the QTE’s being shitty, but one thing I can say that Bayonetta does better than the big 3(4 now ) is that it takes a shit on those games in the level design/platforming aspects. Also, some of the mini-games are fucking amazing. I’m gonna start the game on hard soon, I only found 3 Alfheim’s through my first playthrough.
I Should have run #1 finished tonight (much improvement needed). This game will be difficult to top, imo. Resident Evil references (Whadya buyin’), musical homages to Out Run AND Afterburner (anyone else catch those?), a fuckin’ pedophile angel, breakdancing, motorcycles, lollipops, baby mama drama. What doesn’t this game have?
The game is tight. Period. There were some loading times that were a bit excessive, but the game looks and runs exceptionally well. The option to install is the only thing the game lacks, imo.
I still haven’t played DMC 4. I don’t want to play bayonetta till I beat that. I never beat DMC 3 either. Some of the stuff Dante did was just really fucking cheesy. It’s mad over the top instead of being cool. I hear Bayonetta is better than DMC 4 so I don’t want to step back.
But damn, I hope DMC 4 doesn’t have the cheesy bullshit DMC 3.
DMC4 is one of my top-ranked games of all time…absolutely legendary gaming experience there… but I’d agree that it is a good idea to play that before Bayonetta. I have to admit that at least gameplay-wise(combat), this game “raises the bar” as Simon Cowell might say. It would be tough to judge DMC4 fairly if one has played Bayonetta first. The Nero half of DMC4 certainly can’t compete with all the tools B has at her disposal. She’s already in Dante’s league, easily. Besides, it shouldn’t take long to run through DMC4 at least 1 time on Devil Hunter(the “normal” difficulty), then enjoy Bloody Palace mode…and move on to Bayonetta if you’re in a rush. DMD mode was interesting though since enemies(even bosses!) were more aggressive and had their own Devil-Trigger.
