maybe im just used to it. i can still see what’s happening and can react and if i get hit its my fault. i havent played the 360 version though. i played the american demo and did notice the difference, but then i was like “fuck this i rather play a later level” and put in the real game. But if i hadnt ordered the game before i heard they were patching up the US release, i wouldve waited for sure. Cant stop playing this shit now though.
Yeah the game is still dope, I also like how much there is to unlock in the game. It’s almost like you get DLC in the box. I wish more developers did this, but DLC seems to make companies money so they leave stuff out intentionally.
If you really want to see the difference between the 360 and PS3 versions of Bayonetta, Eurogamer did a good side-by-side comparison where the difference in texture quality and frame rate is really apparent.
Whether this’ll be the case for the English release remains to be seen, but there’s a reason people say the 360 version is better.
Thought this was a pretty interesting read.

Just played the demo. This game is mad dope!
The only frame-rate issues I saw were in the cutscenes, then again I play on a normal t.v.
Wow fuck, just finished watching the cemetery scene, shit is insane!
Time to play.
LOL it gets even more insane, you’ve seen nothing yet.
damn this game is making a lot of people talk shit about it for some reason. About it getting such high scores and then people only playing the demo and making up their minds about it and saying “its average and doesnt deserve such high scores”. I never make up my mind based on demos. i never even play them. I played the demo out of curiosity and knew it wasnt going to capture the whole game. there’s just waay too much in the game and in your own mind as to how you want to play the game. Also a lot of ps3 vs. 360 bullshit. atleast it’s getting a lot of attention. i hope it does well over here. For sure it isnt for everyone though. i got a friend who wasnt impressed at all by it and another who loves it. Artistically/aesthetically speaking though, very nice achievement… details and style up the arse. if i were to score it, it’d probably be between 9 and 9.9. not taking into account the ps3 flaws people would take points off for cause i didn’t care and had fun the same way anyway. at the point you fall in love with the game, its as much as you ever loved any game the most. i can understand the perfect score based on the cause of that feeling. only shit that annoyed me was probably cheesy shit in the story but Japan never gets that perfectly right with me. too gay for me at points, but i knew i was in it for the gameplay. some good classic fun, arcade style even. shit regenerates like mega man and such. i like the old-school feeling along with new gen craziness.
I guess I’m just not seeing it. They both look the same.
It’s a lot like when you have 1080i and p and I can’t tell the difference at all.
And Famitsu hands out 40/40’s like candy now a days.
I notice the difference, I guess some players can tell when something chops and others don’t see much of a difference. I have a few friends who are casual gamers and they don’t really know the difference between 30-60 frames. I am hoping to see some footage of the US version soon. I will also never understand why Bayonetta had no install option.
Played the demo for this, and I must say that just from the demo, it really seems like will shit all over DMC4. I know a lot of you liked DMC4(I sure as hell did not), but this game seems just crazy. The only thing though, it does seem a little mash friendly, but I’m sure that will quickly be fixed by simply bumping up the difficulty. Can’t wait for it to come out.
Only up to chapter 4, but it is fucking awesome.
Any skills I should get in particular? I only have the air dodge atm; did buy uhh, Selene Light and Gaze of Despair.
I downloaded the demo and gave it a whirl, thoroughly expecting the worst game of all time, and I have to grudgingly admit that I enjoyed myself a great deal. I must have played the demo ten times…
That’s called smart design. See, they even have that ‘easy combo’ mode in the demo. They want sucky people to play this.
But go watch a combo video, you’ll see that there is a ton of depth. I mean the fact that basic attacks are tempered between weak and strong in a single button opens up a lot. Then you have the pick-up weapons, all the moves, the transformations, the dodging, and weapons you keep…
Makes me even more pissed off at Sega for not bringing NA the LE. Fuck them. :annoy:
DMC1>This.
Some skills that you should focus on getting.
-
Break Dance. It has a couple of invulnerability frames, hits a lot, and you can jump cancel out of it to begin any other combo of your choice. Can even be done in the air.
-
“Stinger”. Just like in Devil May Cry, and just as useful.
-
Tetsuzanko/Heel Stomp. Both of these moves are very nice, in that, not only can they do a nice damage in themselves, they’ll also summon a Wicked Weave Punch/Kick respectively, for 3 orbs on your magic meter. Sword’s version of Tetsu is a VERY nice clear out attack, and you’ll need this for the various “Kill only with Wicked Weaves” challenges.
-
After Burner Kick. Like the Red Hot Kick in Viewtiful Joe, only better. You not only a great, flying kick that goes downward, if you activate while you’re rising from a jump, you’ll get a great way to add on to air combos.
-
The “Beast Within” moves (once you get the chance to get them). Bird gives you Vergil like “swords” that you can either shoot while in the Bird Form, or the “circle of swords” that you can have circling you and shoot out when ready. Bat gives you a nice “Just Defend” feature to your dodge. If you Dodge at the last second, you will transform into a small wave of bats, that damage nearby enemies, and put you in WT.
These, to me, have what I’ve thought to be the most useful of the skills. You can buy the other ones once you get a good handle on things.
As for accessories? Well, eventually, you will likely want to have either the ability to Parry or V-Ism. Either will serve you well, as soon as you get a good handle on the basic mechanics of the game, first.
Cool deal because I was just wondering about this.
Yeah I can say that as a casual gamer, I noticed a big difference between the Xbox demo and the PS3 demo. Am I the only one that felt the PS3 demo looked like something that would play on the PS2? The graphics seems to look pretty bad.
Not too mention it was a rip off to not get the first bell tower level that the 360 demo received.
Agreed. I’ve played it like five times already (the Xbox version).
Thanks, will look into the skills and work on the combos.
I think I’ll finish the game first, then try and do plats for all chapters.
Its not like the game is unbearable to play. Ps3 may have issues, but it doesn’t take the gameplay away. The game is great and thats all that matters.
Agreed. But after playin the 360 version at a friends house and then going home to download the PS3 version, i was pretty frustrated :tdown:and it put a bad taste in my mouth.
