No we understand you just fine. You clearly don’t understand us. All the combo options in the world wont make up for your foes being retarded punching bags and 90% of DMC3 & 4s enemies are a waste of space. A Bloody Mari with a shot gun is more dangerous then most of the crap in DMC3 & 4.
I enjoyed the shark-like enemies in DMC4. The flying swords were fun as well. Its a shame that you fight them…once or twice the entire thing. They actually had a bit up unpredictability to them.
The rest of the enemies are…like BLAH. Especially with Dante. Dante with the Yamoto = INSANITY.
I really wish the fat marionettes with the blades were a bit more chaotic. But lucky for us, there seems to be a wheel-like monster covered in blades in Bayonetta.
DMC enemies arent aggressive enough. They wobble around the stage, only attacking if you get close enough. Not even on the highest difficulty, they just do more damage. The enemies that shoot projectiles are at best a minor annoyance, since you can always rush them down if you dont feel like toying with them. I find myself getting hit in DMC when Im not paying attention to the enemies around me when im beating the snot out of another one.
Yeah the fat Mari’s with the blades that spin like a wheel are awesome looking and could be really neat if they didn’t dance around doing nothing most of the time. Even the Frosts & Assaults aren’t as aggressive as they where in DMC1 and you had less combat options in DMC1 so what the hell? Blitz is pretty awesome though they need to do more enemies like that. Almost as good a Shadow in my opinion.
I really miss the sin scissors in DMC1. DMC4 tried to give you that nostalgia with a fresh twist, so I can appreciate that tho.
I dont really like the “Fausts” that phase through walls etc etc. They are cool looking…
but not AS cool looking. I remember DMC1 like it was yesterday. As soon as you pick up the shotgun you hear that evil moaning, and then those two witches floating around the room with a big ass pair of scissors. UGH!
I REALLY want the next installment to give you 2 things:
-boss battle mode
-bloody palace with the entire history of DMC enemies
That alone would be worth much more than any crappy DLC
I don’t like any of the enemies that phase through objects but the Scissors where the least worst of them all because they where aggressive and most of the time wheren’t hiding in walls. also you tend to fight them in open areas though sometimes in cramped ones. The thing that made them just sweet though was that you could critical kill them with the shotty making those fights cake if you could do it consistently. The Fallen where annoying cause they spend all there time just out of reach so the only way to kill them quickly is to JC them with a power attack like Hammer or something. The Fausts aren’t so bad i just hate fighting them in the cages cause they tend to hang outside the cages and poke at you with their nails while you can’t do anything really but shoot them which is slow and sometimes painful. Otherwise they are pretty cool and don’t bother me so much.
Bloody Palace always starts to bore me after about a week. I have always had a lot more fun with NGB/S Mission modes. They tend to be really well though out and can be tailored for maximum challenge. The way they challenge you to fight Doku, Alma and the Nicheea at the same time is a big challenge and can be a lot of fun. Imagine fighting Phantom and Griffon at the same time. Oh yeah. That’s a lot more tantalizing to me.
The big flaw with Bloody Palace to me is you always have to start at floor one and up until you get to around floor 30…ot’s pretty boring. A mission mode lets you pick your favorite challenges whenever you want.
DMC may be easier than GoW, and the enemies may often be punching bags compared to GoW. But DMC’s combat options are a lot more fun. I prefer the types of weapons you have and moves you can do in DMC far over GoW’s weapons and moves.
Not to say I don’t enjoy GoW too. I just prefer DMC because, despite being easier, the combat abilities that I have are more fun. Dante is a much more likable character than Kratos too. And at least you still have to pay attention; it’s not like you can just mash [] all day and win at DMC (unless you are using Easy-Automatic on Easy difficulty).
Yeah BP was boring. I still would play it to get all those old enemies one more time.
I also thought DMC needed a versus mode, or at least let you play with more than one characters. Minus DMC 3 SE and DMC 4, the alternate characters were pretty much the same.
Yeah the cloaked enemies DID hide too much, often times you found yourself running around like an idiot until they would “sneak” back into view lol.
What probably has me most excited about Bayonetta is that people are going to break this engine as well. Jump cancelling, weapon switch canceling, buffering …etc ect. I cant wait to see what else this engine can cook out. I remember when people found out about the BROKEN spiral gun canceling in DMC3.
GOW’s Titan Mode (and hard or whatever it’s called in GOW1) is pretty fucking hard. You really can’t be asleep at the wheel in that mode to be honest with you.
With that said I also prefer DMC and play a lot more DMC3 & 4 then I do GOW in general. It does have more options a lot more fun a protagonist and you spend a lot more time fighting then you do solving puzzles an such and GOWs puzzles can be really long. I also like DMC3 & 4s mission select systems that let jump right to the moments I like best.
DMC benefits with the mission select for the last two and DMC1 for being pretty short and a lot fun through and through. When I play GOW I have ot be in the mood for a rather long adventure and while I like GOW…i have to be honest here (and this just might hurt my credibility) but I’d rather play Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix + with the 0EXP ability on a couple times a year then play through GOW more then once a year. I tend to think KHII is underrated though heh.
I can’t wait to see what kind of crazy stuff people can do in Bayonetta but i hope JCing isn’t one of those things lol.
Why not? Jump canceling is fucking awesome. 2d fighting mechanics in a 3d hack n slash.

Because DMC already does it. I don’t particularly like it when all my games play exactly alike. It’s lame and boring. If I want to JC I’ll play DMC. Bayonetta needs it’s own mechanics.
I think jump canceling might be inevitable if you can buffer jump out of attacks. Thats all it essentially is. I think it gives the gameplay more freedom.
And if it’s there I’m not gonna complain or cry or anything cause it’s nothing I can change and it’s not inherently a bad thing. I just like my IP’s to be unique from one another that way I get to have more varied experiences. I like that NG plays nothing like DMC because i get to experience two varied and unique yet incredible games and the less things they have in common from a battle perspective the better. Even still a couple simple shared mechanics wont kill me and I’m sure Bayonetta will have a new and unique experience that I will love.
Something that was weird was how they said Bayonetta will be able to use every weapon dropped from enemies in the game like Kirby, but from the new footage its in the form of a power up that can only be used temporarily. I dunno how to feel about that. I want to KEEP the weapons enemies drop.
Maybe im being greedy.
I also hope she cant only be the witch dog for some missions.
You just might be a bit greedy lol. I think it’s bad ass we can pick nup weapons River City Ransom/Street of Rage style. That’s hot.
I wonder does that include bosses.
Maybe if the bosses drop a permanent weapon. And if there are a lot of smaller enemies, I wouldnt mind.
I wish E3 would hurry up already so we wouldnt have to speculate as much.
I wonder if the same weapons can be equipped to hands as well as feet.
I don’t know how you get them but you do get new permanent weapons. So far we know you get a rather large Katana and Snake Whip (A Snake that is also a Whip). You also get a pair of amazingly bad ass shot guns. From the sound of things you can equip anything to the arms or legs but so I’ve only seen guns being switched up but the way Kamiya’s been talking it sounds like you can mix it up either way. You do get permanent new weapons. Give me a sec I’ll upload a pick of the whip, shotties and her hand guns…er…feet guns…her pistol set heh.

Six new gameplay videos posted on neogaf. :bgrin: :bgrin: :bgrin:
You’re not human if you didn’t feel anything watching those videos.
The director of the game calls them final fight weapons. Which is pretty much what they are.
I was both excited to play the game and slightly turned on.
