Bayonetta demands Dante (DMC) to make her a sandwich. Patch fix available for PS3!

picking up this game tomorrow…i was planning to buy a xbox game and this happens to catch my interest.

Life mimics art or does art mimic life?

at 3:50 another DMC reference can you guess what it is?

DO NOT READ THE COMMENTS you’ll spoil it.

You mean Ebony and Ivory? That was pointed out in this thread a while ago lol

Unless you meant something in the music?

Damn and I thought I was cool…oh well.

Do the purchasable Alt versions of weapons perform any differently than the originals? I have always been curious, but I haven’t really noticed a difference.

nope, they are just there so that you can put one in the hands slot and the other on the feet, ie. durga x2.

question from me: does the crow port (rb x2) count as a dodge offset?

Yes, the Umbran Spear (double-tap r1/rb) works as a dodge offset, allowing for the combo to continue. It seems to be distance-limited, so you might drop the combo if you’re too far or accidentally lock onto a foe that’s further away.
It’s awesome for getting behind guys like Ardors and Grace & Glory, so you can pummel them continuously. Looks damn cool too.

It’s reasons like these that keep me playing this game. I just finished Hard Mode (and while doing that I picked up Sai Fung) and as soon as I got Sai Fung I’m like “Time to learn new tactics for this bad boy!” And I had been toying with the Umbran Spear (aka Birdie Poke) but not sure of what would be a good use for it but now I know. Ooooo boy!

I’m really looking forward to Non-Stop Infinite Climax now. 63 hours…

So I accidentally saved over my old game data when I started a new game to play as Jeanne. Fortunately it only took like 10 hours to beat the game and grind the halos to unlock everything with the phone cheats.

I’m currently about to do it all again with Bayonetta as well, it reminds me a lot of when I used the duplication glitch with rotten eggs in RE5 to grind money and unlock everything.

on chapter 10 with my first playthroguh on normal… was it hard for you guys in your first playthrough because i can’t seem to get platinums at all in these verses. and at the end of the level i would get the fat guy’s stone gargoyle rank… am i missing something here? what are some of the best combos in the game?

It’s the exact same for everyone, don’t worry about it since it’s your first run. You can select any chapter you want anyway once you’ve completed it once so yeah. Also dying counts as using an item so that’s one way to get stone ranks easily lol

Question regarding Chapter XI: The Cardinal Virtue of Justice

There’s a verse (fighting in grassy field) before the boss fight. Does that count towards your overall score for that Chapter? Not that it isn’t easy to perform at Platinum/Pure Platinum level for that part, but I’d rather not restart the chapter everytime I think I may not have taken full advantage of that verse (if it indeed counts).

I’m thinking the answer to that is yes, because it continues to be “Verse 1”, despite the cut-scene interruption afterwards.

Yes. It still counts. If you are ever fighting, it’s a verse.

Went back and picked up stuff I was missing, like the Kulshedra whip and finally getting Lt. Kilgore.

Found out about phone cheats so I’m farming Halos.

I also spoiled myself on who the platinum ticket led to… If I’m paying 10 mil Halos, when I can dish out that much and not worry about it, I should definitely be given a memorable/difficult fight.

You know, beating the game on Hard isn’t impossible. Granted, Sai Fung might take time, but really, everyone should attempt to beat the game on Hard. It’s an interesting experience and since you have Kilgore Geohound you can perform the glitch which will make you an offensive powerhouse (but you still need excellent defensive game).

I figured as much. I don’t even know why I bothered to ask.
Good news! I Pure Platinum’d that Chapter!
Yay mummy, you’re the best… eh…

I would say beating the game on Hard is easy. Hell, beating NSIC is easy.

Completing Normal/Hard/NSIC gracefully (All Platinum, Pure Platinum) without exploits is where the real fun and challenge lies. I feel bad for those who will not take on at least some of the Platinum/Pure Platinum challenge. There’s so much satisfaction to get from doing so.

Funny you say that. I got up to fighting the big guy with the cannons and I had either Pure or Regular Plats in hard on Chapter XV. I don’t know what I was feeling but i was unstoppable up until I zigged when I should have zagged. But yeah it’s a great feeling to be near-perfect consecutively.

I feel like Bayonetta will get glossed over for End of Year awards but SRK won’t forget will we?

Well, I managed to Platinum The Broken Sky with a performance I felt was absolutely horrible. When that Platinum trophy appeared, I was really shocked. In some places, my performance in my previous run through TBS on NSIC was much better (like my fight with Jeanne). The hidden verse in what I call the “propeller chamber” was a disaster. I recorded some ideas that I was planning to use in the NEXT attempt, which involves me triggering witch time and running all the way to the Alfheim portal, then destroying every propeller, THEN fighting those sorry bastards. Damn glad I didn’t have to turn right around and use that. Ugh… it was just a crappy run that somehow was awarded Platinum. Worst_Platinum_Ever!

But I’ll take it!. The way I see it, I’ve got merely two more complex chapters (A Tower To Truth & Requiem) to do in this run towards unlocking Jeanne with All Plats or better.
