I couldn’t connect earlier on my first try, though I tried again and got on. I was getting disconnected earlier in Conquest modes on PS3, though I took a break for an hour or two, hopped back on and played some Squad Deathmatch with no disconnects.
Conquest is by far my favorite mode. It was awesome in the first game, and it’s awesome in the sequel. Only complaint is that their are barely any maps. I wonder how well the game’s been selling? It must be doing a lot better than EA thought it would be considering all the server hiccups.
Can you explain this to me… So if I see an enemy, simply tap the back button and enemies pop up on the map? I constantly press it but don’t know if’ i’m doing shit. Also, can someone explain to me squad commands? Something about aiming and then pressing the back button?
Aim your cursor over the enemy, press back and there’s an arrow over his head for everyone in your team plus he shows up on the minimap for your team. This also applies to vehicles, helis, and the UAV. Even if you don’t kill them, you get a spot assist for it. The same applies for the objectives too.

You can’t spam it nearly as much as you could in the demo, so keep that in mind. Think of it like a second to second and a half cool down before it will do anything again, so spam usually nets zero spots. Basically what walnut said but do your best to have cross-hairs/cursor over the intended target and then tap “spot” rather than spinning in circles mashing “spot” like people could in the demo.
Thanks guys for the tips. I’ve been wondering for a while; luckily I got on and tested it out. Wow, so cool. It’s like another dimension of gameplay that i’ve been missing. It’s a bit involving though, and as a medic, I find it a bit cumbersome trying to spot enemies when I could spray em. Now, if the enemies are far then I spot on! =) I’m assuming that this feature is best fit for players wielding long distance weapons (note, I did not say recon… or maybe I should have?).

The spot system isn’t the only thing you can get out of the Select/Back button. It also does
squad commands for objective attack/defend. AND YOU GET MOAR POINTS for that too.

I love the game. Do not like Squad Deathmatch. At some point almost everyone goes recon and we are all just searching for each other while the snipers pick everyone off.
I only play Rush, then I could see myself getting into Conquest. If I can convince my friends to play, then I can see doing Squad Death Match. As it is, I just can’t see myself teaming up with strangers to play that mode.
I’m sure there are PC players out there, this game has been a blast so far, but no one talks on the servers and I have a mic =( Maybe someone wants to get some games in with buddies they know?
You know what, I just played two series where all my team member were recon… =/ WTF!!! They did NOTHING to progress the game. Not a fucking thing. This sucks monkey balls. I’m sure to that a good recon is worth it, but so far I think it’s 10% good, 90% BAD!!! The ones that are good actually pull their hand guns out and get into the mix.
If someone in your squad is running the recon kit they should be spotting for you. If that were the case I would run an assault kit this way you can help each other out. Unless your pistol skills are god like then I see no reason to get into the mix with the recon kit at all.
The recon kit can get you a ton of points if you keep spotting the other team. You don’t even have to pull the trigger just spot and let the other people kill them.
I mostly myself run the Medic kit or the Assault kit. Last night I had a guy running a recon kit in my squad and spotting everyone for me as I did some street sweeping with a shotgun. I ended up getting a 8 kill streak on a conquest until a Abrams came and messed me up.
This game almost requires you to get a mic. So you can communicate with your squad.
I hate when people do run the recon kit and they are not the eyes on the battlefield for you. It is very annoy.

I had that shit the other day playing rush with my buddies. My squad were literally doing all the work while everyone of the other team mates were recon. Lets just say we were pissed. Obviously we got the gold squad pin, while the other team members had paltry scores.
For people who play on PC, my favorite server is brbuninstalling Gold version. (yes it is named after Pokemon :tup:)
