Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread

rush > conquest

My buddy ordered a server so I’ll be playing on that. I hope that you guys can come play with us.

Brand new so we need to get the numbers up. 32 slot, Chicago (Clarifying) IP: 205.234.152.119 Port:16567

Look for it and add it to favorites =D

Name : The company = carnal gaming & team origin (Name will be change sometime in the future but lets get some games in!)

I’m going to see how well my bluetooth works with my PS3. Cause from past experiences, if I had my bluetooth connected, my PS3 either a) lags like a bitch or b) flat out disconnects me.

But we’ll see. If all goes well, I’ll be yelling at people for running away from me when I try to toss 'em a medkit.

i gave this game another shot today with only four of my friends and i had fun

Had some great games with Draeger and ShadowInfinity. As soon as I get my mic up I think we could put together a pretty beastly SRK squad. I’ve got Engineer handled!

Been having problems with this game freezing up my system. I’m going to uninstall and try again. I think the latest retail PC fubared it pretty good…

GGs to Gibb… we were both top 2 players in almost every game.

Since for now, we can only do 4 (or is it 5?) man squads, I got dibs on Gibb. Medics4life.:rock::rock:

lol Destrado, we were in the same games last night. Didn’t realize you were from srk!

I cannot play this online at all. It won’t find me a single game .

I got the game yesterday and it wasn’t working then either. I thought maybe EA kept the EU servers down until the release date (today over here) but I’m still having no joy. DAMN!

did you download it or buy it at the store? If it’s the latter, go to your install directory and run the gameupdater (as admin if it gives you problems). Hopefully that’s the reason why.

edit - not a huge fan of the m95 at all.

I joined to a game yesturday fine… no problems. The EA servers are fucking up again… just look at the soldier stats page on the bad company 2 site… oh wait you cant because its fucking down!! :annoy:

Played a game and a half with my friend and Irennicus last night. I added several of you and saw a bunch playing.

I was telling Irennicus that I need to break my MW2 habits. I miss my .44 mag with tactical knife! I had more fun last night than the few days I spent on the beta, and I can’t wait to get better.

We could certainly make an SRK squad and could probably use Skype or Ventrilo.

I’m debating on whether or not to get the PC version of this, or the XBox one. I’m not to experienced in PC FPS games, sometimes they hurt my hands/wrists. But everywhere I read people say PC is better. Is this true? My PC will run this game well, so that’s why I’m considering it.

Have any of you guys who’ve had the game for a few days now tried using the 12 gauge slug spec.? Was curious what you thought of that if so, especially in relation to level design. For example on the more open levels are you better off just taking a rifle or when using a shotgun justl better off going building to building with no slugs. And then on smaller levels do the slugs do enough damage to bother being used when you’re packed in tighter when shooting enemies.

About the only thing I’ve seen come up in relation to shotguns post launch are a few people who are enjoying the Saiga, they don’t feel they need to be standing right on top of something for it to kill.

Edit

PC offers 32 (16v16) fights compared to 360/PS3’s 24 (12v12, I think that’s the max), so more people can be on a PC server at once. Both console and PC offer dedicated servers, that should eventually be ironed out. They’ve already supposedly fixed the kicking issue on PC servers if the server owner updates. Graphics wise, PC can be better tuned to be more crisp and overall look better if you’ve got a decent computer which you already said you did, so PC wins graphics wise. Likewise the game offers far more fine tuning in the graphics department post launch for PCs to run better on higher and lower end computers, as people on the PA forum especially are saying it runs better than the demo, but even on lower end systems runs better while looking prettier. Sales wise it seems a lot of people are buying it on all three platforms, so you should have a stable, large player base for a long time to come no matter the system given how popular the BF franchise is.

It seems to boil down to graphics, if you have a decent rig, PC wins there. Player base they all seem even/in good shape, no matter the chosen system. And player count, PC wins there again. Across the board PC is better, but marginally; the game is still great with the console limit of players and looks far from ass on 360/PS3. At the end of the day most people seem to say on every board I’ve been checking about the game get it on whatever you have hte most friends to play with for your four man squad, that should be the first and foremost factor to pick a system on.

Would you rather be forced into games where the battle is only 24 players or would you much rather have the choice to play with 32 players, find any game mode/server/ping/game size with ease?

It just boils down to how much control you want. I’m sure the console versions are just as good. But I’m a PC man at heart so I’m semi-biased.

Here’s a tweak guide I didn’t see posted before.

That should be handy for getting more FPS and most importantly, setting a good FOV. Read the instructions though, because this game doesn’t calculate FOV like others. Where 90 FOV is pretty standard in other games, the equivalent here is 55.

I think some servers disable the FOV. I’ve been unable to join a few servers; removed the fov setting and rejoined them with no problems.

Hm, that would be terrible. I’ll try to find out if they are enforcing settings somehow.

It seems the online is working for me now, so feel free to add me to the list on the first page. I have it for Xbox 360. I’ve only played 5 minutes but I know I love it already, I was really into the demo.

Sensitivity is a big issue for me. It feels rather slow and sluggish so I boost it up, but then I find I struggle to maintain accuracy and control. What do you people personally do when it comes to sensitivity? Do you leave it alone or adjust it?

Damn, you make it sound like console is the spawn of Satan.
