Rog v. Rufus

I haven’t really played this matchup much at all, and it’s killin me, just have no way around that EX-Messiah Kick. Learn me!

I also just purchased a stick a week ago (former pad player) and am still in the throes of getting used to it, so that’s why my execution has suffered a bit, especially with crossup blocking :o

If anything I’d say turtle a bit more, a jumping game against Rufus is asking to get hit. He was also really getting you by baiting you in with his focus, and maybe EX headbutt could get him, but i’d just stay away.
Also there was once your did the meaty low dash and he punished on wakeup. He’ll beat you every time with EX messiah. One more thing is not getting hit by the jump kick after you block the messiah. Anytime you block the messiah block standing just because the jump kick comes out quicker. If they go for the sweep it’s easy to block on reaction.

beddachedda, konkrete

I’ve had a lot of success vs the sweep/overhead after a Messiah Kick with TAP. Sometimes back dash works for me as well. Sometimes.

My big mistakes during the wakeup blocked messiahs were not ex-headbutting :frowning:

Good advice.

I still have to get used to this damn stick though for reaction blocking, it’s killing me

When used in a combo Ultra scales as if two moves were involved in the one, same goes for Focus attack. So in actuality Ultra scales at 70% if it is the third move in the combo not 80%. The numbers look like 20 + 160 + (45 x .7 x 5 + 53 x .7 x 2) = 411.7. Your probably thinking but thats not 414 :xeye: Damage is rounded so the ultra damage looks like 32 x 5 + 37 x 2 = 234 instead of 31.5 x 5 + 37.1 x 2 = 231.7… 20 + 160 + 234 = 414 :cybot:

is this a joke post?

no offense but your opponent is either doing this on purpose or he’s really bad. gj linking after your ex upper though. can’t really critique games like this… but again i don’t know if it’s a joke post or not.

WTF Aganist Bison

DaTrueScarface what I learned in the Bison matchup is
personally whomever has the offensive momentum usually has the advantage. The bison you played relied on jump, you could’ve shut him down with some Jump back fierce, or cr fierce. I can’t say much about his tick throws cuz for me bison is hard to tech.

From my experiences, I fare better against Bison when I’m more offensive rather than defensive against him. He doesn’t have much when he’s cornered except maybe ex headstomp, ex psycho crusher, if you play a safe offensive game.

It was really hard to be offensive against this bison and I didn’t have enough time to do crouching fierce that’s why he keep doing jump ins.
Thanks for the feedback
Any More Comments?

Posted this in the Boxer video thread about a week ago, still hoping to get some feedback.

I’m the Boxer on the 1p side in both videos. Been playing him for about two weeks now. Vs Choi (Ryu), I failed very hard at absorbing a lot of fireballs, and vs. Chrisis (Boxer)I just felt lost. The Boxer mirror really screws me up. Please to critique.

lol i kno how u feel that chrisis guy he sent me to losers my first match at fudd. You kept getting hit by him jumping in while he’s crouched. Back dash some come in then out bait him out like with the cr fr learn the range stay outside then counter. neutral jumps into bnb. Throw alot. Throw out ex moves.

against choi that fool been throwing fireballs since forever. Just practice absorbing and dodging. Don’t wakeup hb anymore unless they’re doing something u can punish. You were also in range to headbutt know that range during that fireball barrage. Watch those jumpins also when they got ultra super just waiting for a trade or something

That last match against ryu omg dude T.A.P. is your friend USE IT!!

I only have six videos but will be uploading a ton more tonight, please… PLEASE ignore the dumbass comments that I make while playing these matches, it was really early in the morning and I was just stupid as hell.

Let me know if you see anything that I could do to improve.

Thanks

I had a look at this. You use the EX dash sweep to good effect as well as mixing in the overhead. the headbutt into ultra is what i liked, and it seems that your execution is pretty good.

Now for the bad, i know you hate to hear it but here are some things that you could strengthen so please do not take this as harsh feedback

  • You got stuck on a Down back charge too often you were getting hit with aerial attacks, so you should try and tighten up you defense otherwise a good dhalsim player for example will be scoring easy damage.

  • if you expect or see a jump in, use the EX rush upper more you will trade hits, but the opponent will be on the arse end in terms of damage.

once you tighten up your defense, i think you will be better for the long run.
