Balrog (Boxer) Combos

pretty rare to make any new combo discoveries in this game these days haha

I’ve been doing this one a lot lately.

Well more so just the cr.mk, cr.mp, fierce headbutt (or dash upper, etc etc)

Reverse Punch -> Jab -> Straight

I dunno if it works on everybody but I did it on Sagat a few mins ago. It looked hawt. lol

I’m assuming you mean TAP (turnaround punch - I just call it turn punch) - the one where you hold 3P/3K, then release.

That only works on counter hit, I believe.

Anybody ever use these?

jRH > clRH > jab > sweep

289 damage, 524 stun, untechable knockdown

jRH > clRH > jab > ultra

534 damage

Probably really late as I don’t really play Balrog or visit here much, but his links into sweep are so good. The two roundhouses leave you at perfect range for far st jab. Anyway they’re pretty nifty if you can incorporate them into your game.

Here’s a reset combo I’ve done. It does 1080 stun and takes 60 or 70% health. I’m not very good at the math of SF4. lol

how much damage and stun does that combo do with a dash punch at the end?

I was socializing in one of the local arcades today, and supposedly Balrog can combo Grounded Ultra > Super, but it has to be from one corner to the other or something to that effect. I was like WTF? No way… I’ve never heard of that before.

I don’t have access to my 360 for awhile ( letting someone borrow it ) Can anyone confirm this?

Sounds very questionable. I don’t have access to my console right now either, but I’ll give it a shot when I do.

Not that it makes it any more credible, but he’s a really good tournament Rog here in Hawaii ( placed third in one of our island tournaments that go on, which Evo Semi-finalists also compete in - think Hawaii had 4 in the Semis this year for SFIV )

He didn’t detail it for me, but he said it combos. I’m like 90percent sure that’s what he said over all the other loud cabs and people.

Also think he said something about for flash, not damage - doesn’t fully connect or something.

I don’t think it’s possible, unless there is some kind of reset. For example hitting a jumping opponent who trades with the ultra.

I just did it, it is VERY possible

i found it best works when you before the middle of the stage. Like in training stage the opponent has to be on the 2nd square from the center red line. So far I’ve only got it to work with a stand alone ultra, no headbutt ~ ultra. Its got some ridiculously strict timing

I found KPKP worked best with the super because you still get the final hit of the super

it was a total of 14 hits. only the K’s on the super and the final hit of it actually hit. the P’s whiff. I didn’t think i was gonna do it and i never put the attack info on

ive tried like 15 more times and can’t connect it. i will keep trying though. Im gonna GUESS the damage is probably somewhere in the 600s, maybe 700

All punch ultra or all kick?

pretty sure i did all kick, but i know i got it to work a few times with all punch

my first time landing it i did all punch ultra and all kick super, the super only hit twice

thanks man. i saw your initial post last night and was tempted to try it then and there, but it was like 4 am haha. trying to see if it works was like my main goal today
