In a team of Iron Man/Shuma/Felicia, who would benefit more from being on point? Iron Man with mystic ray or Shuma with unibeam/repulsor?

Sorry, but that team is all sorts of 0_o.
I’d say IM on point, just because he can probably kill at the beginning of the match much better than Shuma can, more so because of Felicia’s OTG assist rather than Mystic Ray.
Well, my usual teams are IM/Task/Felicia and IM/Dante/Felicia.
I’m just trying to mix it up with low tiers. I could just switch Iron Man with a better beam assist like Mags or Doom but I won’t.
Dante (Jam Session) / Ironman (Repulsar) / Dr. Strange (Eye of Agamotto)
The theory’s fairly simple. Two separate 2-man units that work fairly well together as well as 3 characters that can survive on their own.
Dante / Ironman;
If I touch you with Dante, I can do a little over 1 million damage for 2 meters, the combo itself builds 1 pixel shy of 2 meters on its own, so it’s pretty legit. Dante can zone fairly well, and the Repulsar covers the area right above his head and allows a great meter-building combo. TACing with Ironman in second is a great option with the scaling as well, builds even more meter and all that jazz.
Ironman / Strange;
Once Dante dies, this pair comes out. Strange assist helps in the fireball war which lets him fire off the higher durability beams. The Eye allows a double-repulsar combo extension in the corner as well as a lockdown assist which lets him use his instant overheads. Ironman also has the benefit of coming in with close to 3 bars if Dante died fairly early, which gives him quick access to kill a character. TACing to strange in the corner also gives you long meter-building combos that also rack up the damage fairly quickly.
Strange;
Personally, I think Strange as an anchor has alot going for him. He can instantly blow up an assist safely with a level 1 into XF3, always a plus. He also has infinites in XF so he doesn’t have to spend any meter to kill a character on contact. This leaves a potential 1v1 situation with a fully stocked Strange. He also can’t be chipped out on the ground because of the anti-fireball super.
Thoughts, suggestions, random hate, things I’ve overlooked, possible tech, anything is appreciated. I did alot of character hopping before deciding on this team and I think it really has alot of synergy. It works in absolutely any order and has very high damage output given good execution. I still haven’t incorporated a Dante combo using both assists and I’m still punching 1 mil, so there’s alot of tech I’ve yet to discover.
I’m looking at doing Iron Man/Strange (eye)/Akuma or Iron Man/X-23(crescent scythe)/Akuma next as a side team. Akuma cuz Tatsu assist is one of the best answers for start of round crap.
I am trying to run iron man/doom/sentinel but I am not sure what order and what assists I should go with… Can someone help me
I play Deadpool/Iron Man/Sentinel and run Sentinel Anchor. Iron Man really benefits from Drones but I still think IM is a better anchor than Sentinel is. Maybe because my Sentinel is just ass right now.
I really don’t know with that team though…I mean I’d probably do it Sentinel/Iron Man/Doom. Sentinel on point with a beam assist an assist that can be used as an OTG combo extender would probably get you high damage, maybe even TOD, second is a great spot for Iron Man because you get access to his great TAC combos and as Danke has shown Doom is an excellent partner for Iron Man for both space control and combo extension/damage. Doom is in last because of those three character’s he is without a doubt the best anchor.
Iron Man Spencer Sentinel <------ Best point iron man team imo.
B B A
smartbomb+slant wire grapple assist makes H repulsar blast possible for extensions.
Sentinels drones makes 2 repulsar blast for extensions.
2C, Unibeam + drones = free lockdown
max range 2b, 5c + spencer assist helps for long range converts
repulsar blast assist for spencer is insane
repulsar blast + drones
Spencer + sentinel has obvs synergy
You are doing yourself NO justice by putting IM on point. Spencer with Ironman is literally his number 1 pairing synergy wise giving him his best assist and one of the most retarded THC’s in the entire game(Invincible, hits during flash, full combo after with time to position). Please don’t use repulsar assist I’m begging you, the THC becomes way worse because of the angle and you lose the godliness of unibeam.
Ok thanks but i am a bit torn on assists. Iron man’s repulser assist is just so good, and it is possible to use sentinel air s to OTG after a hit confirm with it with the right timing. If i do that i would probably use doom’s beam but then Iron Man suffers, because missiles > beam in my opinion. So should I try to go with Drones,Repulser,Plasma Beam or Drones, Unibeam, Missiles?
i think its good in that order with plasma beam if you like to rush down and hidden missiles if you like zoning. i’d go with the beam. and drones of course.
Does Nemesis benefit Iron Man at all or vice versa? If so, how?
I honestly think Repulsor is pretty bad but Unibeam is the best beam assist in the game. You should use Unibeam.
edit: Repulsor as an assist, on point its amazing and one of the few good things Iron Man has.
Iron man could use launcher slam as a forced ground bounce to continue with repulser after smart bombs. Nemesis could use repulser as a defense assist and if you time it right it is possible to use nemesis’s air s to cause a ground bounce for a combo. And unibeam is just there to help control space
vergil plus iron man, any thoughts or tips on these two? Just learning Vergil at the moment
Ironman’s entire synergy with a character depends on basically two things, do they abuse unibeam, and do they abuse THC. Vergil can use the unibeam for teleport mixups but doesn’t really get anything out of THC. Ironman gets a combo extender out of vergil assist. To be honest the synergy isn’t anything to write home about, but if your set on using Iron Man, there are worse choices than vergil to pair him with.
Feelings on anchor Ironman?
Lol I use iron man anchor and let me tell you, he’s pretty damn free without assists haha. Then again, I’m pretty bad with him and really only play him out of character loyalty :/.
Edit: Oh and because unibeam assist is godlike
I’m torn, on the one hand throwing him anchor to allow him to be an assist for two characters may honestly be the smartest option due to him not being very good, but in reality he’s not a very strong anchor at all. His optimal spot as a character to do anything is second by a long shot. He needs an assist to startup any part of his game due to his slow movement and startups, and he has a tough time at the start of a round due the close proximity created by them walking at you. Meanwhile he get’s to give the first character his assist, a high damage dhc, a high damage tac option, and one of the best thc’s in the game(super long, high damage, locks them in place, 0 frames from close range and like 2 from anywhere else).
It really depends on how necessary he is to your other characters in the end, if you’re playing something such as Vergil, Spencer, IM, then yeah put him last, but if you have doom or sent or ammy on the team you can afford to put him second.
Thanks.
I’m trying to see if it’s possible to run Zero/Ironman/Frank. Zero/Ironman is fine, but I’m not sure if IM can do anything to get Frank leveled. I did small testing last night, but didn’t find anything. So I thought perhaps moving IM to anchor at least Frank would have a nice assist to work with to get him to lvl3 off one combo. But with IM by most accounts being a crap anchor then I won’t be going with that plan.
Really need to get more lab time tonight.
