Awesomenauts SRK unite!

I think I’ll be using Yuri from now on instead of Derpl. Bubble makes for some really quick matches with competent teammates. All of my matches today were wins and under 7 minutes!

There was a patch between the PS3/360 patch and the start of the Steam beta, but I don’t know how big it was or what was in it. I assume there will be a new patch to go with the release of the full game tomorrow.

Lonestar seemingly got buffed?

It’s a mix of buff/nerf, but mostly nerf. Lonestar can still only have 3 Dynamite sticks at max, which means his top damage is now 60 instead of 75. Contact Grenade was important for Lonestar’s damage burst (because it is hard to hit one character with all 3 Dynamite without Contact Grenades). Now that Contact Grenade is changed from burst damage to a damage over time skill, Lonestar is not as scary to be around. They also made it so the Missile upgrades can’t shoot out of his gun at the same time, which is another nerf to his burst damage. His speed/triple jump upgrade costs 55 more Solar (a slight nerf).

For buffs he got: better Blind Grenades (not used by anyone), better Lifesteal Grenades (rarely used), and the Dynamite skill starts with two Sticks (possible 40 damage instead of 25).

It’s pretty obvious (especially if you look back at his Bull Buffs from the Console patch) that they are trying to turn Lonestar into more of a Utility character instead of straight burst damage. I think it’s a good thing, and it will change the way people play/fight Lonestar considerably.

EDIT: There will definitely be a launch patch because the Devs said that they plan to revert Derpl’s Nuke back to normal (no ammo), but with a slightly longer cooldown, for the full release

You realize that grenade bounce explodes on contact too, right. If the new contact still last like mines, then the bounce + contact BS is still in. Also, 40 damage at the beginning of the game is huge.

All they needed to do to Derpl was add a blast range indicator to his nuke and remove the range+ upgrade or split it into stages.

I severely underestimated the crit clover. I should’ve been rocking that bad boy in the pre-patch day too. That crit lets you annihilate Clunk hard.

PC version turns Leon’s attack into autoattack?
The aiming feels a little funky on PC but only took me a single game to get used to it. It plays nice. It seems laggier for some reason - could have just been unlucky on my part with hosts. Runs awesome at 1920x1080 all high.
People on PC are terrible so far. I guess they just got the game yesterday, but I always hold PC gamers to a higher standard of play than console gamers (sorry, console-only guys)

Pretty sure I was being trolled by my teamates today… Was a Froggy//Lonestar guy + (1) they each went 0/7 and 0/3 respectively and the Frog was almost always in the base using his tornado when I passed him. Needless to say we lost :mad:

EDIT: Dang I forgot to mention that they each only had like 1 droid kill in each of two games. That is why I think they were trolls and not just shitty players, which I can see happening. Why I played more than one game with them is stupid but I thought they left after the 1st game… they didn’t.

So…I meant to buy Awesomenauts on steam, but I never got around to it because I got into the Smite beta that day.

On a side note, if anyone wants a Smite beta key, then just PM me your email address.

Up to level 20ish on PC, but I have to say that I still prefer Awesomenauts on console. I have more connection issues on my PC for some reason (this is probably the first game I’ve experienced this with :lol:), and the people seem to suck really bad, relatively.

It’s still fun as hell though. And hell is pretty fun.

Derpl’s +1 LongCat puts the range of his cats outside of the turret’s range so he can stand safely outside of the turret’s range hitting them with 7 dmg per shot if you got the Batsuit.

I’d have to play around with it but outside siege mode he’s way way to vulnerable to go that rout early game.

Longcat, CatCat, and Cat Batsuit are what I run. He can do some damage and kite so well with that set-up. His upgrades don’t seem as flexible as other people. Outside of the Snare/Nuke the other columns are pretty set (Health, Speed, Piggy. Long range, Shields, Damage for Turret).

Its fucking sad because this type of game would be perfect for MLG shit. Stupid absurd amount of money needed to patch games. Thank you Sony and MS for ruining the fun for all gamers.
