AVerMedia Device Thread -News and Help here!

Thanks man, I tweeted it out on our twitter tagging you

Hey I made an account just to post as currently there seems to be very few to instances of sources of help. I got my U3 today. Set up and installation went like a breeze. Went directly into testing the settings. I go into the recording screen and it works smoothly for 10 seconds. Now for some reason the Recentral crashes and goes unresponsive when I try to use it. I thought my Desktop would be sufficient with its specs to be able to use the U3 or please correct me if I am wrong. I honestly don’t know whats wrong. could someone help me out? Some of the more violent crashes of the Recentral device + U3 caused my computer to crash and restart itself due to errors, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220257

Hey Mizuki, I know this is asking a lot, and this is probably niche area for Avermedia on the business side, but do you think we’ll ever see Linux drivers for devices?

That’s the only thing that holds me back from getting a LGP.

Hey Mizuki,

I also have a P55 chipset (eVGA P55FTW motherboard) so yes, I can confirm that it is an Intel chipset. If I’m not mistaken, this was among the first family of Intel chipsets that included USB 3.0 support (for 1st gen i3/5/7 processors).

I’d be most interested in an answer to this question as well.

What are you recording?

I wish  Right now it’s just Mac support, and I don’t think we have anyone in engineering that knows Linux, I wouldn’t be surprised if I was the only person in the company who knows how to use Linux.

Yes, it should work then.

Word, thanks for the honesty.

Bright side is I just reinstalled Windows so getting an Avermedia device isn’t entirely out of the question anymore.

Would anyone happen to know what specific color space / subsampling method the Extremecap U3 uses? I know it’s 4:2:2 but I’m wondering if anyone could be more specific than that. Not all 4:2:2 sampling methods are created equal.

Hey, I just have a some questions I need help with:
-I’ve read the recent posts, but which of your HD capture cards are compatible with Mac??
-How does the pass-thru work with the ExtremeCap, do I need something separate to actually play the game?
-Based on having a Mac and wanting to record and play in HD (with 60fps), what is the recommended capture card? I want to be able to record, and then export my clips onto a computer without having to worry about working with the file, if that makes sense…so then I can send them to ā€˜editors’ as raw footage. I’m not worried about price!
-What is RecCentral? Is it essential based on previous questions?
Thanks!

I"m incredibly dissatisfied with my Avermedia HD capture 2.

I used it one time to record 5 minutes of gameplay. It asked me to download a driver so that I could correctly use the phone app with the system.

I tried to install the driver, for whatever reason, installation failed. I have not gotten the machine to work since. All i get is a flashing green power light. The HDMI light is steady,m but the power flashes green.

I see no gameplay on my tv screen, i’ve tried every resolution from 720-1080p, I’ve tried all the hdmi ports on my tv, i’ve tried diffrent HD sources, and I’ve tried different HDMI cords. I"m frustrated and don’t know what the next step should be.

Will the extreme cap U3 device work on this laptop?

By upgrading my laptop, my Intensity Shuttle isn’t even being recognized in windows , so I’m looking for a high-quality capture/streaming solution

What are you recording?

xbox 360 gameplay. So I Upgraded my RAM to 16gigs and still nothing. Recentral starts up fine but when recording it does the same thing. Recentral crashes, today I got my first sighting of the blink/fade red light. Is my unit defective?

Hey y’all, sorry about the no response. From vacation to some restructuring here, it’s been pretty hectic.

1-Live Gamer Portable has beta Mac software, works well apparently from our customers
2-There’s no passthrough, so you’ll need a splitter.
3-You can use the Game Capture HD II, just connect an external HDD and record onto there, or just use an LGP.
4-RECentral is the bundled recording/streaming program provided by us, right now it’s fairly barebones, but getting an overhaul in the coming months.

It might’ve bricked. Send a support ticket here: http://avertv.avermedia.com/Support/ContactSupport.aspx and you should get a response in 24 hours, if they don’t RMA your device let me know again.

Right now, there’s been reports of some Nvidia chipsets not playing nice with the Extreme Cap U3, so I honestly can’t tell you if it will work 100%. When the next update comes out, which should be the end of this quarter, it should work.

Can you help me with my LGP? It used to capture and record footage perfectly, but now it just says out of range. Video and audio passes through fine to my monitor, but simply says ā€œOut of Rangeā€ on the REcentral program. I’ve tried AVERmedia’s support page, but I didn’t find it very useful…

What is your setup?

Is full range rgb support being added to the U3 in this or any other update in the near future? The lack of that is the only problem I have with it; to my surprise it has yet to not work perfectly with any program I’ve tried.

I am honestly unsure of the details of the next full update. You might be able to email support dot usa at avermedia dot com to find out if they will.

For those in the States, the Live Gamer Portable Lite, now known as AVerCapture HD will be released in April, if you’re in Europe or Australia, it has already been released to my knowledge. For more details on the device, click here: http://gamerzone.avermedia.com/game_capture/lgp_lite

Was asked this by a friend at our last tournament, so I figured I should ask this here.

Is there any way to get replacement component cable adapters for the LGP?

The RMA sent through and they gave me a replacement. I’m wondering what is the smallest size I can record in? 15 minute video is like 2 GB and takes me a really long time to upload footage.

Officially no, but I do have access to spare cables and if I have time I can send them out personally.

Goodness, I don’t even know honestly. Possibly 10mbps 480p? Also, what’s the source of your avatar?
