AVerMedia Device Thread -News and Help here!

Hey there!

You might’ve heard down the line that I’m the Community Manager for AVerMedia’s North America Region (Probably not haha)

I’ve been working at AVerMedia since November 2012. We’ve sponsored multiple events such as Community Effort Orlando 2013, The Fall Classic 2013, IPlayWinner’s Lost in Space 003, and even did stuff with Team Sp00ky’s Next Level Battle Circuits.

For those who don’t know what AVerMedia is, we’re a company that produces capture cards, our most popular device is the Live Gamer Portable, which many players use at tournaments to record their footage directly!

If you have any questions post up here or hit me up on the twitter!

When are we gonna get any info on that ExtremeCap U3?

Also you guys wanna give me a Game Capture HD2? Kappa

We have a bit of info on our GamerZone website here: http://gamerzone.avermedia.com/game_capture/extremecap_u3

Also you know where to hit me up for a GCHDII

Always great to see companies getting involved like this!

I personally use a Avertv HD DVR card in my PC for streaming and it has never let me down. Link here on amazon

Very pleased with the options and capabilities. My first purchase from your company and will be looking into your new stuff.

I wish you guys would price that new card that does 1080p at 60fps.

It’s still going through some testing, so not yet ready to release info.

I remember back then a capture card that handled 1080p 60fps was around $250. Worth the wait for price drops.

Is there an estimate? I’m between it and the X-Capture 1 and price is going to be a pretty big defining factor.

Can’t say just yet…

I currently own a c875 live gamer portable and I’m actually having some trouble getting it to work for live streams
The packaged software ReCentral works perfectly for both recording and live streaming but when i broadcast via OBS or xsplit i run into problems

  • OBS either works or i get a red or black screen but when it does work the stream runs fine but eventually the frames drop, then audio lags and then i have to force restart
  • Xsplit always recognizes the device and works for the most part but after a few minutes it also starts to drop frames and then eventually turns into like some pixelated mess
any suggestions on this? recentral is great but it lacks the options for webcams and audio settings

Are you using the Stream Engine in conjunction with the LGP on Xsplit and OBS? If not use this: http://bit.ly/H6NlFI

What you will need to do is start up that program first before xsplit/OBS and do your settings and check the box where it enables it. Then start up your streaming program.

To piggyback off of that note, make sure you have Skype disabled if you’re using the LGP Stream Engine in conjunction with OBS.

It seems like some shared resources come into conflict when OBS/LGP Stream Engine and Skype are active at the same time.

Any chance stream engine will ever become compatible with 64bit OBS? Currently, I can only use my LGP with 32bit OBS, which pushes my CPU load to ~90%, lol.

Of course, the most awesome thing would be to somehow get the LGP to work with OBS natively, lol.

64-bit OBS has compatibility issues with a lot of directshow devices. OBS would have to fix update their software first.

What is everyone using to edit their videos?
I have a nice big video file I want cut into individual matches.

Native support is coming from what I hear. It’s a whole bunch of technical stuff on why it doesn’t work now. I might throw an LGP at Jim from OBS maybe he can do something with it to work directly with the device. The Live Gamer HD originally didn’t work with most directshow programs, but was added to work with it.

Most of the people I work with that use the device uses Sony Vegas.

Hey there, I’m having some trouble with my LGP and I guess this would be the place to ask for assistance.
I was recording some gameplay earlier on my xbox with my LGP onto an SD card (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=752188&is=REG&A=details&Q=) and all of the sudden, my LGP got stuck and wouldn’t stop the recording when I pressed the button. I’ve had it for a week now and this happens every once in awhile, and what I’ve been generally advised to do when it gets stuck is to turn it off by removing the power cord. However, this time, when I plugged it back in, the light on the LGP was just a rotating, blinking red light going in a circle. I expected the light to go solid again after a few rotations, but it just kept blinking. I let it sit about half an hour and came back and it was still blinking red in a circle. I tried unplugging it again, switching it to computer mode, letting it sit off for awhile, and nothing has worked. I can still get the video/audio to go from the xbox into the monitor through the LGP, but I can’t record with the LGP and it won’t stop blinking red. Any idea what might be wrong and what I might be able to do to fix it?

Sounds like a defect in the unit. Fill out this form: http://avertv.avermedia.com/Support/ContactSupport.aspx and email me the ticket number to nicholas dot murphy at avermedia dot com.

Before I filled out the form, I decided to check one more time and see if it worked. It blinked red for like 5 seconds and then went solid and it’s working fine. Left it off for like 12 hours and it’s working fine now. Not sure what was up with it. Thanks anyhow though!
Edit: Although sometimes if it messes up it blinks between red and blue. Do you know what that might mean?

I was hoping for something free. I don’t need anything that good.
