AVerMedia Device Thread -News and Help here!

Hey, yeah, you’ll need both to make it work, I assume you got a friend to buy it for you from North America?

Hey there, We’re working on mac support for a handful of our products, but we have no Linux dev team in our company (as I know) so it would be near impossible for support there. I know how you feel, I wish our devices worked on Linux so I can go to Linux 100%.

Any promotional discounts for the Extremecap on the horizon?

Have to wait and see.

Awesome, thanks. It’s really great to hear an effort is being made, and Mac support will be great (though I’m assuming you’ll be focusing on the USB devices, as that’s more practical for more people). Even a kinda-unstable Hackintosh is more stable, practical, and less annoying than a Windows PC at this point. Having my favorite capture device company working on supporting any *nix system at all is good news in my book.

All I want to know about is if the ExtremeCap will be less picky about USB controllers than the shuttle.

Was really impressed with how brain dead easy it was to get the ExtremeCap U3 up and working, using an Intel Ivybridge laptop.

A German webshop, which probably imports it. But something popped in mind, can’t the power adapter easily be replaced by any other power adapter with the right voltage? (regardless whether or not it would void the warranty)

Yep, it should be able to, just make sure everything matches up.

Also, Mac Support is officially announced to be released by the end of this year.

Good to hear, I hadn’t seen that! Is there a press release with the announcement you could point me at? I’d love to know which devices are going to be supported. Might inform my next buying decision (unless it includes the C127, in which case I’ll be super-set. :D)

I’m wondering if u could direct me to the correct device for my needs.

I Run my consoles through a standard hdmi cord to my TV. I want a device that can help me record hd video of my umvc3 matches and other misc games directly to my youtube channel. I use a hauppage for this currently, but I want a standalone device like the LGP portable or that one thing that has like a YouTube app for it or something? I guess it’s called the game capture hd 2?

Anyway, while portability is nice, it isn’t a necessity. I prefer a pc-less option that can archive my footage onto YouTube in hd and as best a frame rate as possible

Sometimes when I’m using the LGP’s HDMI out the screen will flicker. Do you know what causes this or if there’s a way to fix it? It’s a wonderful product otherwise.

Devices aren’t officially announced yet (From what I’m hearing it’s LGP and Extreme Cap U3)

Game Capture HD2 has editing and uploading to youtube.

I’ve never heard that problem before, connectors might be loose sadly, send me an email to nicholas dot murphy at avermedia dot com.

Is there possible online footage of UMVC3 being uploaded from said device? I don’t know if 30 FPS will have a noticeable effect on how the recorded playback appears.

Everything uploaded to Youtube gets cut down to 30fps anyway.

Mizuki, your attention is much appreciated! Signed up just to talk to you!

I’m interested in the Extremecap U3, but I’m running a rather early revision of USB 3.0 (a P55 chipset) on an Asus P7P55D for my capture machine. Do you have any idea on what the compatibility is for that chipset?

Thanks!

Thanks guys u convinced me to get the hd capture 2. However, I have a question, I guess I will need an external hard drive to make it run? Are one of these recommended or is there something more preferred to irk with the aver media device?

Sorry guys, been really busy :< So here’s a big follow-up post.

Like said before, YouTube scales down framerate to 30 FPS.

Hey, It’s an Intel chipset right?

Video demoing the Extremecap is up for those who are interested in it
