Can I get a PM of the link too? Please?

who said he needs range? some VAs are picked because of their distinct voice.

Nevermind, got that shit. Shout outs to thirtyfour

Lorenzo Music says hi from beyond the grave.

Um, who’s ā€œsakā€?

^^Sokka. Evo’s right, Suki was normal compared to the other females.

For anyone who hasn’t seen the episode gogoanime has it on their site surprisingly!

What if Aang gave Korra his stick when she was a kid. I can imagine seeing her whacking people with it saying, ā€œDeal with it!ā€

She seemed like a normal teenage girl…then again she was barely present and only showed up briefly for about 5+ episodes so her lack of character development is probably the only reason she gets the award for "most sane female"lol.

I don’t quite get the Katara hate. I mean, I don’t think she is the best character by any means, but she is still far preferable to Zuko(or a number of more minor characters). My only real problem with Katara was that waterbending seems way op compared to the others and, as a consequence, it made it seem like Aang was just there for the ride, while Katara could handle any of the problems,

Katara embodied all the worst possible aspects of women, which made her seem more fit for the role of a villain then it did as one of the leading hero characters. Nothing about her is charming or likable and its easier to identify and build sympathy for the bad guys in the show then it is her…that kind of defeats the purpose of her role as the moral voice of reason IMO. In short she was just a badly written character who was supposed to come off as the appealing selling point for girls but instead came off as a crazy psycho bitch we all wanted burn in a fire…

I liked her.

i liked katara. she was a good foil for aang’s playfulness and sokka’s immaturity. i don’t get the hate for her.

I agree. I liked her as well.

spoiler tags you fuck.

Zuko is a better character than Katara. Also for me it is not the characters flaws, they all have them, it is the fact that Katara is portrayed as the saint of the group, the level head one etc. When she can be just as immature, insensitive and selfish.

because she’s still a kid.

is this really a thing? i didn’t think people cared about such particulars with a children’s cartoon.

Eh. It’s a cartoon that is targeted towards kid but its more appreciated by young adults. Like most cartoons.

What’s your point?

i think people read into things too much.

have you ever sat in any english major classes? in a story, you might see the author talk about a bird flying overhead. an english major will take that and tell you that the bird is a representative of the main characters wish to be more open and free without caring about the consequences that might be foreshadowed.

in the end, it was just a bird flying overhead, but people add in their own inflections and projections into details when they aren’t intended to be there.

katara is a kid trying to be an adult. now, i can dissect this to mean whatever you want. and you can dissect it to mean whatever you want. i could tell you katara’s need and desire to be an adult is a stressful act since it centers around the loss of her mother and some self inflicted need to grow up and be her. this is stressful and causes inconsistencies because she is still a kid with active and varying emotions that she cannot control knowingly because she does not really know how to be an adult. and it would be absolute bullshit. you can tell me the opposite. and it would be bullshit.

in the end, the writers need a plot, a conflict, and a resolution. and you characters might need to be a little inconsistent to add some variation to the story. katara was far from the only inconsistent character. and expecting them to craft characters that legitimize these variations is asking alot for a show aimed at pre-teens.

its great you can pick out plot holes and character issues, but at the end of the day, its a show written for children and you’re lucky that it wasn’t written with the consistency of barney the dinosaur.
