I agree. The comic is really like the show. I can picture almost every scene.
One thing I did feel kind of forced was Toph’s lines. As funny as they are, she didn’t do that many blind jokes in one episode.

It’s because they haven’t seen Toph in over a year; she’s gotta make up for all the lost Blind jokes
Damn, that show looks fucking gorgeous.
Has a real fluid yet gritty feel, like one of my favorite anime.
I’m super excited for this show. Looks like they’re doing a damn good job. I already know I’m going to love Korra. Curious about that Polar Dog-Bear thing.
I always assumed katara was strong cause she was on her period constantly…like really she shouldn’t be a water bending consider how emotionally unbalanced and frantic she tends to be. If anything she should have been a fire bender, also toph would have logically been the better gf for aang. Katara is nagging, emotionally unstable and talks too much!
lol if katara was a firebender she’s have gone heel. that bitch is maniacal at heart. only avatar dick calmed her ass.
Can anyone send me a link so I can read it online. Please & thank you.
Good to hear positive feedback bout the comic book, was considering picking it up and if its got the stamp of approval of the srk avatar fans(cause we know how hard it is to impress srk fans of anything) its definitely awesome. Only question now is when I pick it up.
Ha true enough, actually the more I think about it had she been a firebender she would have been possibly worse then zuko’s sister and right up there with the fire lord…actually nvm she would be worse then the fire lord. They should have just made zuko’s sister and katara the main villains, I’ve always believed women made the best villains for a reason lol.
she treated her brother like shit and they were fuckin family. half the time id be like “bitch, wtf is wrong with you?!”
Her line about fireworks made me feel sorry for her. For us, it’s fun. For her, it could be an artillery attack with no indication of what direction it’s coming from.
Does anyone know how many parts there will be to The Promise? I really like how the story is turning out, but I’m kinda sad that we have to wait till May for the next bit. I’m not a comic book person so I’m not used to waiting for new volumes and junk
Edit: Nvm, found out there are going to be 3 parts. If the time frame between the 3 will be equal, then it would only make sense to expect LOK to be out late 2012 or earl 2013, which I’d be content with.
An interesting bit of info I found on the wiki:
Someone PM me link to the comic, plzkthx
I feel that “The Promise” doesn’t seem to make sense to me considering…
Zuko spent most of his life ostracized and treated like an outsider, so I have no idea where all this “his people” crap is coming from. Especially after he had seen how cruel the fire nation had been to other people, it really didn’t make sense. I thought Zuko had seemed borderline enlightened since he learned the dragon dance.
Leadership’s fucking with him. He thought the Fire Nation was just a bunch of oppressive assholes, and they deserved to be forced back where they belong. Now he realizes shit ain’t black and white, and that he, as his people’s ruler is responsible for their happiness, and doesn’t want to fuck up their lives.
Someone mind pm’ing me the comic?
To me Zuko has cared for his people. For instance, it was because of his concern for fire nation troops that he got his scar. Then he risked his life saving one of his crew members. He’s also usually against hurting others when there’s no reason like when he didn’t destroy the water nation tribe in exchange for Aang. All in all, Zuko has a sense of justice, but he was conflicted for most of the series with his desire for his father’s acceptance which would go against what he thought was right. Lastly, I wouldn’t say he was treated as an outsider and ostracized for most of his life since he was banished for about three years. Before he was banished, his mother and uncle showed him love and kindness. Later on, Iroh would raise him as a son and he’d gain the respect of his troops. So, he wasn’t completely alone.
Just google Avatar: The Promise" and add “.cbr” at the end. WEAK is your google. My padawan, you nowhere near are ready to become.
Got to read the comic pretty good also, Toph <3.
What program you use to open the file?
Just read the comic…oh man why wasn’t this animated!? quality stuff even if we have to wait a bit more for part 2 and 3?
