No word as of yet. If I have to guess, I bet the series will debut after the Kids Choice Awards. Nick likes to debut new shows after their award show.
It was intended to release during summer 2012, but some reports are saying it may be delayed till 2013. Not an official delay though.

One thing that I am worried regarding this showâŚ
The ONE thing that I am worried about is that they may stray too far from the traditional martial arts approach and move too much towards the contemporary arts that are starting to trend (ie: wushu, tricking, parkour, etc). I donât have any hate towards the contemporary martial arts and urban recreations or anything (Iâd have to agree that theyâre actually pretty amazing to watch); I would think the blend to be a good thing since it would better show how the times and the show itself have changed with a more modernized setting and a new generation of characters. Iâm just hoping it doesnât overshadow the traditional approach which was one of the things that made the show what it was. But it doesnât even look like thatâs happening so I guess I have no idea what Iâm talking about. o_O

I do like the different intro and moves. If you notice, the air bender did a flare, which Zuko did in one of his fights.
I just read (and observed) that Legend of Korra is going to have more of a modern/contemporary influence than its predecessor including itâs action and combat scenes. As long as it isnât too defiant from The Last Airbender, then it should make for a good transition.
The wait for this show will be painful >_<
I heard they took inspiration from the âroaring twentiesâ and you can see it because they finally have early automobiles, roads, and the clothing looks âwesternâ (even though there is no west, it reminded me of those movies when you start seeing asians adopt western styles) I have to say it is a rather unique theme because not many cartoons or any media off my head really take place within or took inspiration from this time period.
