This move is ASS!
were the fighting styles represented well?
most definitely yes. Especially near the end with the Waterbending.
I just want to reiterate something though. It think we all wanted this movie to be perfect and amazing. But itâs not perfect, nothing is. Is it a terrible movie that ruins the Avatar name and franchise? Fuck no. If the movie were given a three hour run time weâd have an amazing flick on our hands but with the small amount of time it had I personally think it did a good job, could have been better but ultimately the movie did what it was supposed to do. It entertained me.
This movie is an introduction, itâs the first act and the characters are just getting established. As it progressed thereâs a distinct sense of scale building up to the final scene with the Firelord.
No dude⌠as a future writer I can tell you right now, this movie is terrible. itâs not even that it was just done bad, it was done terribly. When the Harry Potter books got turned to movies, I was a little upsett hat things got changed, but I got over it because over all, they are good movies for those who havenât read the books, heck even for those of us who have.
The acting in this movie is horrendous, there is no plot and there is no character development. The way everyoneâs back story is told is told at really dumb times and by either the wrong people or just so damned weird.
The fighting is cool, but the martial arts that is supposed to accompany the bending is done terribly. Itâs like, they do some martial arts for 5 seconds, then the element they are controlling does something completely unrelated to the movements they were doing. At least in the show, if an earth bender wanted a big chunk of rock, they swiftly with much strength moved their arm, had a strong stance and what not. In the movie, they spin around for a bit, then stuff conveniently happens.
Nothing in this movie is done right.
Took the words right out of my mouth.
idk how Kusanagi02 rated this movie more than 1.5
MAN THEY COULDNâT EVEN GIT THE NAMES RIGHT!!! I mean really, WTF  !!! Im just sooo upset @ dis crap, I dont even no where 2 begin!
Saw the movie, here are my main issues:
-
Missing too much thanks to being only an hour and 45 minutes long. Avatar had a lot of minor episodes, but they mostly had a purpose be it foreshadowing, character development or explanation. Thanks to the movie restriction, none of that is there, and you donât care about the characters. Speaking of characters, important ones are nowhere to be found: Jet, King Bumi, and the Kyoshi Warriors.
-
Mythos was changed too much. Aang not talking to Roku is dumb, and removes a lot of the character development and the spirit world seemed rather thrown in there just as a plot device. And while in the series, not everyone was a bender, in the movie, seems like thereâs only 15 or so benders in the world.
-
Costumes and Music. Costumes looked cheesy and fake, likeâŚMK:A fake costumes, and the music became typical, overly epic action fair. What a bummer.
There are more tiny things I can nitpick at, but my fear seems to be reality. What made Avatar great was the presentation (music, world ambiance) and character development. A less than 2 hour movie is not enough time to create either of these. And yes, the 3D was so bad it hurt to follow the fights. Which by the way, only the last one with Aang waterbending was cool. For the most part, there wasnât enough bending for me.
Should I steer clear and pretend nothing happened?
M. Night Shyamalan is a hack.
Look at that fucking âNightâ in his name. Do you know how pretentious you have to be to do that?
I read from some people that it was worse than Legend of Chun Li and Dragon Ball Evolution. eeek?
Dragon Ball Evolution wasnât even that bad of a movie, itâs just that it wasnât quintessentially âDragon Ballâ at all. Legend of Chun Li was a mess.
Seriously. The Last Airbender, directed by the same guy who did Signs and Unbreakable? Is this guy bipolar or something? One side of him is good, or at least decent at what he does, and the other is a joke.
I knew in my heart that they would cut them out. OH how important they are though for the rest of the frigging series.
Calm down.
Looks like I shall be saving my moneyâŚbut Iâll still see it. >_>
this movie is fucking trash
anyone who likes this shit has horrible taste in films
Daaaamn

Damn the reviews are just horrible for this movie. Not only the 6% fresh that it has gotten from critics but look at the actual score averages. Its 3/10 or 1.5/5 and 1.2/4. That has got to be one of the worst scores for any major release in recent memory. The opinions of some of the critics I donât care for because they a) are condescending towards a show theyâve never watched and equate the movie with the quality of the show. However, animation buffs who are fans of the show like Roger Ebert have torn this movie to shreds. Iâm still going to see it, but I will be more than ready to walk out its shitty.
Dragonball Evolution basically said, âFuck the showâ and went off in its own stupid mess of a direction. It was a bad movie period.
I was being generous with the rating cause i mean i would give it a 3 instead of a 4. From whats been told, M. Night did film the Kyoshi warriors already so iâm guessing its gonna be deleted scenes on the DVD. The movie did its job in offering a quick version of Season 1. Had they made the movie longer, I think it couldâve been better. Like i said before the exposition is what killed it.
dayyyyum!
Quoted for truth. This is a fiasco, thank you Shamalayan: you fuckin blew it.
dayyyyummmmmm!
âI shouldâve seen Twilightâ
