the best part was when the firelord jumped of his airship and propelled himself to Aang’s location
as soon as that happened i was like “ohh shit, it is going to go down”
and the part when he first used lightning, he dodged aang’s attack, while charging lightning and then he used one of his feet to rocket himself from going over the cliff and then shot lightning
and i like how the sky changed color from red to green everytime there was lightning

though she became powerful almost out of nowhere…I loved watching Katara rush that shit down and do her thang throughout the series
…Katara has been that powerful since she met Pakku at the end of the Book of Water. And she only got more powerful when she met Hama mid-way through the Book of Fire. The revenge episode had her doing more absurd stuff.

Yeah I’m surprised Stabby just went MIA now…needless to say, it was pure awesome. everyone really stepped up and at a good pace for the show. Such a shame that Sokka lost his space sword. man WHy must Sokka lose everything? Yue…Hawky…Space Sword… :shake:

I’m not much of a fan of Katara, personally, though I don’t hate her like a lot of people seem to. To me she’s a pretty realistic person.
However, I don’t see what personality (or lack thereof) has to do with complaints that she “suddenly” powerful out of “nowhere” when the extent of her talents have been pretty much established since the end of Book of Water.
Is Aang a master of all 4 elements? He seemed to be pretty well with water after defeating Ozai (putting out the flames).
Also, Iroh’s massive shakunetsu hadouken was most likely one of the coolest scenes for me.
If they do a sequel, I hope they make it WAY after the fact. All new characters and storyline.

Zuko has been way more powerful and complete as a bender ever since the Firebending Masters episode. When he fought his sister during boiling rock he stood his own and didn’t get handled like he had all the times before. I think Zuko could lightning bend now, and I was kind of sad that he never did.
Sibling Rivalry
Zuko countered everything Azula threw at him and didn’t even break a sweat. Katara was the only reason he didn’t own her for free. Azula was fighting Zuko as hard as she could and was breathing really hard. He jumped in the path of the lightning like a true hero, someone with a real sense of honor. I think current Zuko would have given Azula prime a really hard time.
I think she’s both bitchy and emo.

Long ago it became obvious that Aang and his team would get huge powerups. I hate Katara as much as I hate Azula(who would smash jailbait and all) so I don’t like seeing her being some uber powerful waterbender but eh. She did good. I thought her freeze move was very nice.
I hate when people are unclear or when they miss things already in continuity. Just two of my infinitely many pet peeves.
If that’s the case, I sort of agree since there was nothing explicit. But considering she put cracks in the tip of a huge glacier just by getting pissed off without trying–at the very beginning of the series–pretty much says to me that she’s the Water Bending version of Azula: immensely naturally talented.
Katara has been getting more and more powerful throughout the series. Hell, she even gave her master a struggle before he started teaching her.
I sort of liked the fight between Katara and Azula since Katara won with trickery moreso than crazy power. She surprised Azula and immobilized her before they really started fighting.
In the end, they made it so Azula is really stronger than Zuko and Katara. Even with her fight againts Zuko, he wasn’t really dominating her. Zuko held up a good defense and got off a lucky trip (in my opinion). Had Azula been herself, she either would have been able to keep her balance when Zuko did his breakdance fire bending, or she wouldn’t have been constantly attacking like that in the first place.
On a side note, has it ever been applied who is stronger between Azula and Ozai? We know both can do lightning, but Azula seemed to control the blue flames way more than Ozai, so is that any indication?
First off, well said as most of the other posts about Azula.
As for Azula vs. Ozai, I have no doubt that Ozai would win even if he isn’t flat out stronger.
Ozai would win because he’s the only person that can manipulate Azula. The only person that she comes close to respecting. As Atomic # said, the merest insinuation that she would become like Zuko in his eyes set up for her breakdown in the movie.
On top of that, Ozai seems like he can control lightning better than Azula can given his constant use of double lightning attacks. It’s debatable as to whether he (or Azula) can deflect lightning given the look on his face when Aang deflected his lightning, but he out-trumps Azula’s usual trump card regardless.

In Avatar the flame colour doesn’t show case power. It’s mainly a parallel between Zuko and Azula.
Orange=passionate.
Blue= Cold hearted.
In reality yeah blue flames are hotter but not in Avatar, you even see when Zuko’s orange flames cancel Azula’s blue flames out, they are equal. That being said, Ozai would trounce her.
He was schooling her. Azula was out of breath Zuko was composed. He broke her ‘‘roots’’ which is pivotal in fire bending. Luck had nothing to do with it.
I noticed in the last bro-on-sis fight, Zuko was mixing styles. He was negating/parrying with water and earth movements (Bagua and Tai chi), and attacking with traditional Fire style movements (Hung Gar)

i wonder since redirecting lightning is a waterbender based move, does that mean all waterbenders can do it by default? or is it waterbending+firebending for epic counter…
I thought Earth bending was based on Hung Gar while Fire is Baji Quan
