Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

But you know i didn’t mind that because

final fight

Spoiler

on one hand, that fight was pretty even up until the phoenix king realized when Aang didn’t redirect his lightning towards him, that Aang wasn’t going to kill. Thats when Pheonix king started rushing him down. So that fact that once Aang was pushed to the brink and after getting impaled, i knew the Avatar state was gonna be a factor and it was cool to see Aang just beasting on him from that point on

Each book was about Aang mastering one of the other elements, and because he has Air tattoos, then he is already an air master, and no real need of another season to show him rebuilding the airtemples. Since Aang is now a fully realized avatar, I think that another season would be really lame. The writers/creators even said they weren’t interested in doing another season.

why I liked the final fight

Spoiler

Avatar State puts him WAY above any bender, even with the Comet, it shouldn’t matter because he is THAT powerful, FUCK YO COMET NIGGA! I hate in Anime how the main character gets beat down for ever and then somehow after taking an incredible beating summons the strength to beat down the bad guy, that is lame, and really getting old.

TIS, remember, not only was Aang in his Avatar state, but he was powered up by the comet too.

At least thats how it works in my head. He had buffs like crazy. Ozai should have never tried to fuck with him.

see for yourself…

Um…Aang has ALWAYS had that.

As far I’m concerned, that’s been established since they visited Roku’s island in the Book of Water IIRC.

And it’s not like he has the straight solutions to everything with that considering they ALL gave him cryptic answers.

(Speaking of they, am I the only one still a bit unnerved at finding both female incarnations of “Aang” or rather the Avatar surprisingly attractive? Hmm…Kyoshi…)

at last I watched it…and I LOVED it! ended in a great way. Sokka should try to wrangle a threesome between Suki and Ty Lee…let the ladies get friendly with each other 1st.

man rewatched the second hour of the finale for the… 10th time?

Avatar Shield is TOO BROKEN

I’m pissed Zuko never got to shoot lightning (was lightning a “angry firebending” thing only?) or do rocket feet. Pretty much all the other badass Firebenders in the last episode at least did rocket feet, but not Zuko.

Re-watched it again… funny stuff to note:

Azula’s armor was cracked when her friends switch sides, and started to break away with Ozai’s meeting: she wanted to go with her father, but denied, she automatically assumed to be thrown away like the failure Zuko. She recovered after reassuring that she would be fire lord, but the damage was done; there is the seed of doubt whether the people around her will stay loyal. The cherry pit, the troops tardiness, hell, even her hair betrayed her. The mirror incident gave a chilling revelation that all she wanted was what Zuko (mother’s affection, friends, relationship, etc) had, and her only peace of mind was the tired and true, “If I can’t have it, then nobody can.”

They have to add an epilogue showing what happened to the sociopath princess… hell she is the most interesting character out of the whole show…

Watched the whole 2 hour ending yesterday, and all I could say was…holy mother of fucking shit! That was awesome! Before my thoughts on the finale, the recap play was like watching a bad English dubbing of the low budget Chinese adaptation of the original series. It was that goofy.

Katara taking down Azula with the water time freeze was just too cool. I almost thought she was going to die when Azu directed the lighting at her.

 Shed a tear for Azula at the end, no fooling. To see that everything just crumbled around her made me feel sad for her, even though she was a bitch. Like the old saying, “power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutley.”

Battle against Ozai was awesome. I figured Aang would have to cripple him somehow, but I didn’t think he would do it like that. Cool!

I figure the whereabouts of Zuko’s mother and Azula’s fate will be revealed as an extra episode on a video release or something similar.

By the way, a three way between Sokka, Suki and Ty Lee DOES need to happen.

Saw it earlier today and yup, it was 100% awesome. And everything everyone said about it was already said, but did anyone else think that bounty hunter girl looked like she was fighting a Ryu lookalike in the bar fight during the first hour?

Anybody else get a creepy, Sandy-Duncan-as-Peter-Pan feeling from that actress portraying Aang?

Yeah Aang done some Neji shit on him.:lovin:

i noticed that too

Hmm. I’ll have to check that again.

i think that was the whole point

Yeah that did piss me off. No lightning bending or rocket feet? WTF? Well at least he can do break-dancing flame kicks.

well azula was still stronger than zuko in raw power, but azula was off her game, even zuko noticied it,

That was her downfall

i was surprised that all she did was bannish the cheery seed girl

i thought she was going to kill her, and then when she said she would be merciful, i thought she was only going to burn her face off or something lol

omg, i had an emotional reaction to when zuko and his granfather reunited yo

:sad:i did some tear bending on this part:sad:

Oh man that was classic.

I watched this thing on Sunday and I gotta let it be known: Best Series Finale I’ve ever seen for any show. I loved it and I was riveted (yes I said riveted). Fasted 2 hours of my life. When he fought Ozai I was just looking and couldn’t turn my eyes away. Azula losing her mind was also appropriate. She’s a monster and it all made perfect sense to see her lose her mind when she was defeated. At the end when Ozai’s powers were extinguished by Aang I already logged an A+ for the show. This is up their with The Simpsons and Batman for best American Animated Series (I think it is better than Family Guy and South Park). I love Family Guy (when it is consistent) and South Park, but I never had the emotional investment that I had in Avatar. I’m going to miss this.

On a side note I gotta say this: There is room for a future sequel but they need to wait for it. Also this story’s conclusion could have gone in multiple directions and I think that it should be explored. I’m going to steal a line from the great Grant Morrison and say that I wish they could do a comic version (like Evangelion) in which the creator follows the same basic plot but reimagines certain aspects of the events and themes. That would be interesting.
