Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

I was hoping Korra would blend the elements together, making more unique attacks, which would give her the upper hand. Her strengths lie in her elemental powers, so being the first to mix lightning/water, or flaming chunks or rock makes sense to me.

Couldn’t agree more.

It feels like a korean drama. I’ll only truly believe it when season 3 is completely over & they kept their word throughout it all. I’ve been adamant of a Mako+Asami combo, however…what Mako & Korra said still sounds like broken promises to me.

Unlike most, I actually think this can be quite interesting. Korra can basically be a new line of lineage that was the very last bridge to the past, while being a completely new line for the future. Again, will this truly last forever? I also have my doubts (We all love the previous Avatars that much, especially Aang so I don’t believe they’ll be completely severed or lost forever). I believe this was done on purpose so as to isolate Korra as the Avatar to see how she will cope, learn and develop as a character without direct ties to her past lives instead of just simply “I’m stuck, let me just meditate and talk to one of my previous lives for help”.

Definitely. Got irritated a bit since she got little screen time however it was expected but still it would be nice to see her more. She was my fave female since the beginning of the Korra series. Season 3 is without question highly anticipated for me.

Lol at Varrick…LOVE his character, this scene in one of the episodes on Tumblr had me reeling (You have to be signed in to see it)

Rodimus don’t get no love lol.

But I’m not really getting everyone’s statement on her development regression. The whole first season was about her facing her destiny, the inevitable (which was her fear of Noatak/Amon).

Nothing in last season touched her brashness, hot temper and decision making (the first 2 of which I think will stay apart of her in some sense no matter what as that’s just her personality).

At every turn she was reminded that she would have to face Amon eventually. As far as maturity I think she’s actually grown more in this season than the last.

Just posting this for some Asami appreciation.

[spoiler=] I just hope he found his moms [/details]
Though I didn’t read the last 2 comics…

What…Does this mean no more Adult Aang flashbacks? :frowning:

THis show went full Anime on the last 2 episodes.
Tentacle porn? check
Giants vs Giants? check
Surprise power up for the main protagonist? check

Energybending was established in TLA…

Energybending didn’t turn Aang into a Kaiju

And…

That kinda would’ve been overkill for lil ol’ Ozai.

He didn’t have some mystical tree where he could access the astral plane or wherever the hell Korra meditated off to in the spirit world.

That tree is basically like the full moon for waterbenders.

Aang still had access to the cosmic energy to master the avatar state

Ya they pulled way to much shit out of their butts in the last few episodes for me to call the ending anything but lazy.

Whole giant thing was cringe worthy at best. Really Bolin was the only thing in the last few episodes I enjoyed. It was a 5 year olds idea of resolution also lol at the DBZ energy fighting. TLA and book 1 didn’t end perfectly but ended a whole lot better then this. Called this BS a few pages ago, just change power of friendship to believing in myself because I’m stronger without Rava then with her even though she is the source of my avatar powers which doesn’t make any sense at all. Jinnora being super sage or whatever also didn’t make much sense. She can go to the spirit world … ok … she apparently has super light powers that can halt the dark avatar in giant form and cleanse giant korra “You have to be fucking joking me …”. Reminded me of the end of Indigo Prophecy with the aliens and DBZ laser bullshit. Just completely out of place and random.

Add to the fact spirits as a whole don’t seem to really like humans and the stronger spirits can fight on par with the avatar … yeah that couldn’t go wrong at all. This will probably be the focus of the next book and the reasons it seems like a bad idea will be the conflicts that need to be resolved, but at least that seems like a reasonable thing. Essentially the non-bender discrimination of book 1 but now will be between spirits and humans …

Sozin’s Comet>>> Full Moon. Fire benders have the best power up.

Well, he did turn into a giant monster in TLA when Yue sacrificed herself.

Full Moon allowed bloodbending from waterbenders. :coffee:

Also… Aang turned into this very early in book 1 of TLA:

For SOME waterbenders. People forget bloodbending itself is rare and obviously even rarer to do it without full moon. Even then you can still break bloodbending (Mako overcame the strongest bloodbender known) But fullmoon never gave waterbenders levitation powers and essentially the closest thing a normal bender can get to the Avatar state. Azula/Zuko got power ups during their fight too iirc.

Nothing is fucking with Sozin’s Comet.

Yeah! Was a satisfactory ending to Book2. Best part for me was Bolin kickin ass and taking names AND getting the girl

Lol. You just reminded me when my thoughts when Sozin’s Comet was first mentioned in the series.

“Wait, aren’t comets a condensed mass of rock and ice? How the hell does that work?”

Sozin’s asteroid would’ve been more apt. :coffee:

So much bullshit leading up to the last few episodes but in the end it all wrapped up nicely and left the story wide open for a great season 3.

I feel satisfied. Like smoking a joint after sex then eating a steak satisfied.
