Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

That was my reaction too.

First Young Justice blew me away with the Flash family reunion now this.

Spoiler

Seeing Team AVATAR “Beyond”, lol!! in action was just bloody awesome!!
The way Tarloc was becoming more powerhungry and ruthless was well done. He even verbally pimp smacked Korra.
The way the final confortation played was just… It was the most incredible swerve I’ve seen an animation.

I never took Tarloc as a really serious physical obstacle for Korra.
During the fight I thought, okay he’s putting up a good effort but his shit will be pushed in. And lo’ and behold when Korra had him beaten and defeated, he pulls out the new form of “fucking” bloodbending.

Then came the flashback of his dad obviously, punking out Sokka, Toph, and Aang with the new form of bloodbending.

Tarloc has just supplanted Amon as “Holy shit” major threat #1 and shows why the LOK craps on all the other shows on television!!!

…Also!!
Did anyone else get any rule 34 vibes when Tarloc defeated Korra with bloodbending? I seriously had that feeling, that Tarloc was going to put her in place, off-scene and…in the ahem way.

[details=Spoiler]When Tarrlok (we need a new name for this asshole) first bloodbended Korra, I was thinking for a second that he was airbending or doing some remote chi blocking. The return of bloodbending took me for ride.

And yes, this show craps on plenty of other shows on TV. I really hope that if Korra is very successful, it might finally pull us out of the Animation Age Ghetto.[/details]

Calling it now, hes going to freeze her for the next 100 years.

Korra was going to kill Tarlock.

Mind=blown

[spoiler=]I’m interested in how the Tarrlok is able to bloodbend without a full moon. That’s some broken ass shit right there.[/spoiler]

(Yeah, I have to agree that Tarrlok looks a lot better with his hair “down”.)

Hmmm…I forgot I had last episode recorded.

Looking at it again since Ragnarok64 corrected my egregious error, it just seems like Lin was just about to finish disabling or possibly killing the pilot since she had more than broken the window before she got thrown off. So the guy/girl is probably still alive, but there’s still nothing definitive.

With regards to the “Rule 34”, yeah, I kinda got that possible vibe and unfortunately can see that happening with people who are more pornographically-minded. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are a couple of dozen (horrible) fanfics about it by the end of the day, because, you know, only men can rape someone.

Haha. Looking the episode again right now and realizing what she was about to do before she got “remote chi-blocked”, she totally was about to roast his ass point-blank. Even if she wasn’t aiming to kill him, she was going to fuck him up.

fixed for ya

Remember the story Tenzin’s wife gave a couple of episodes before, on how Tenzin and her got married? All the girls were awwwing at how romantic the story was, but my thought was “That’s horrible! You tried to break up a relationship because you thought your crush was with the wrong person? What a bitch. You’re a bitch!” Yes, I know Tenzin and whatsherface were indeed meant for each other and Tenzin’s relationship with Bei was slowly slipping, but how would younger audiences, who tend to be much more impulsive, respond to this kind of message?

It’s easy not to trust a guy whose always double talking and smirking like he’s got something sinister going on. The REASON not to trust this guy is what got me excited. And now I know. And now I’m scared.

Shit happens??

Out of curiosity, has anyone made a single Ikki Tousen joke in this thread?

(It’s “Tarrlok”.)

Yeah, looking at the end of this latest episode again, Korra was totally going to double-flamethrower his ass point-blank even though she thought he couldn’t defend himself anymore. Hunh. This show really is getting crap past the radar about trying to kill people with these last couple of episodes.

Oh, you mean Pema and Tenzin’s story. I’m still not sure how that relates to the glare that Asami gave Korra and Mako, but I suppose I can see what you’re getting.

Still, at the same time, Tenzin later made it clear that him and Lin were already having problems rather than Pema making him “realize” that she was “The One”; yes, Tenzin’s wife is secretly Jet Li.

Like was said above, I think they’re supposed to get the message that “shit happens” and “you should at least try to pursue people you’re interested in and then give up gracefully if they want to be with someone else”, as seen with Korra begrudgingly supporting Asami and Mako’s present relationship. Whether it’s anything beyond that they’re “supposed” to take away or that gets done due to being impulsive (or just people) isn’t something that I think you can fault the show for (yet).

I love Tenzin. He is pretty close to his father in terms of his goofiness.

“YOU really are the WORSE… EVER!”

I understand what your saying, however if you aren’t bounded by marriage (when leaving for someone else is the absolute worse period!) and you meet someone whose 100x better and more compatible and you could see that their would be far fewer tensions and everything just simply works better, you should have every right to leave, or change your relationship. I do believe in that if I’m going out with a girl she shouldn’t be having any second thoughts, however what if we go through more hardships and problems then anything that’s remotely positive and self growth together? Is that a great lasting relationship? What if she meets someone whose ultimately better with the qualities that fits her persona and her road to a better life (I’m not just stating from a financial standpoint, but from an emotional standpoint which to me is most crucial)?

Yeah, it would suck hard to be left for another guy, however ultimately you’re in the relationship is because you truly care for this person and most importantly when you two are productive and happy as a couple. What Pema did wasn’t bad in any regards, she simply confessed her feelings to Tenzin. It’s not even like Tenzin cheated on Lin either, because from what we can see, he clearly broke the relationship between Lin due to the circumstances because he felt that it would do more harm then good between the two.

Now, I could understand your plight more if Tenzin and Lin were going great together, were completely compilable and out of nowhere shows up Pema who simply takes Tenzin away because she was also in love with Tenzin. The circumstances were not of such case, because Tenzin’s feelings for Lin were already on the downside.

Yeah, it’s painful for Lin, however the choice made was the right one. Tenzin is obviously much more happier with Pema and they have a strong lasting relationship that’s real. As much as it goes against even my own ideals of a relationship where you should try to weather the storm, however their is a limit to every person and if you are no longer happy being in a relationship, why stick with it.

What would’ve been worse if is Tenzin fought through with Lin, both got married, had children and did nothing but fight. You can clearly see that both do not have similar values in viewpoints, which would’ve been significant in straining a relationship, and a married one at that.

On the episode itself, I really liked it, and hope that now things will really start to take a nose dive, because when everything turns to turmoil is usually when the best of things come to pass.

Did I not say it earlier? Water Bending is the most broke ever!!! For me, I’m hoping that this road will lead to Korra tapping into her spiritual state, for I’m assuming that she may be in seclusion and thus this will be the breaking point which may ultimately force her and allow her to finally reach her spirtitual side which will finally open the door to a whole new world of possibilities as will as piecing together many of the whats going on moments that we are now at.

7 days of pain, I really can’t take it anymore, wished an episode was 1 hour instead of only 30 mins.

Real talk, Tenzin took his opportunity to cash in with a woman 16 years his Jr. Being serious unless Tenzin has a children with Lin he more than likely split up with Lin because she did not want to have children, it looks as though he seeded Pemma soon into their relationship.

She is has a ruthless streak, a few episodes back she kicked an equalist off of the dome and didn’t look back. You’d expect that man to fall to his death.

i get a feeling that the one of the lessons young women learn from this is going to eventually be “women cannot function together until they get the whole ‘man-possession’ thing taken care of”.

even if they give you a shit ton of money or let you live in their home.

Just a minor theory but

Spoiler

Maybe Yakone was indirectly responsible for Toph, Sokka, and Aang’s relatively early deaths. He bloodbent all of them in that scene, perhaps causing permanent organ damage that either cropped up later or something. Notice that Aang, Toph, and Sokka all died relatively early while Katara and Zuko are still alive and well, the only ones not affected by Yakone’s bloodbending.

You know…
That art of Korra fighting Bolin and Mako as nonbenders…(or not…)
This is too much

And I have a feeling Korra will be able to reverse Amon’s doing when she meets with Aang.

Sokka…

I’d imagine if a Chakra can be closed…there mus be some way to open it again. Doors can be opened again after they have closed.

Hands down best episode so far. It’d have been better to have the week break after this episode with that hype ending.

[details=Spoiler]I think Amon and Tarrlok are biologically related or definitely had some past history as enemies. Dude spazzes out anytime he is compared to him. Makes me not sure they are conspiring together even though it seems that way. He may legit want Amon out of the picture.

I think Amon has a counter to bloodbending.

You know what, I think there is a high chance Amon and Korra will team up.
[/details]

You know Hoamaru, it IS possible for there to be multiple antagonistic factions.
