Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

Spoiler

Honestly I don’t want to believe Amon or Tarrlok are the same or even working togetherbut I just thoughht it was a coincidence that she has these visions when she is in the presence of Amon and Tarrlok has me doubting things. That probably is more due to the stressful situations that she is in. But I think it was pretty much confirmed that Tarrlok and Amon aren’t working together as soon as she was locked up by Tarrlok.

and KumaOso’s reaction was pretty much mine. I kept going “holy shit… :0” while watching this episode. And fuck me that its only Saturday and I have another Saturday to go.

Damn it, I missed the episode. Anybody care to tell me where I can watch episode 8 online?

He reminds me of the villain from Eureka 7 don’t know why.

Sent from Hueco Mundo using Garganta Talk.

I sent you a link of it I believe. Enjoy.

Well we know airbending’s secondary [details=Spoiler]Fart bending.[/details]

In all seriousness, if Aibenders could create and bend other gasses, it would be awesome. An Airbender assassin using carbon monoxide would be awesome.

Edit: flammable gasses would be crazy also.

It’s said that Air’s 2ndary is sound.

Also this episode explains what Lin meant by “our past”.

Calling it right now, Korra is gonna go “Avatar” state and take out Tarlok while also at the same time finding out more stuff about Amon in some sort of flashback.

Yo damn, Meelo is gonna be such a pimp in a few years.

I did not expect a episode like this so soon but damn it was good. Personally I never thought bending has gotten weaker and I think this episode helps prove my theory. The bending was pretty top notch and I don’t think I’ve seen any bending as versatile as Tarlock’s even in the original series.

I’m really interested in seeing how Amon and Tarlock are related to each other. With that disgusted look he gave when he was compared to Amon there has to be something that has happened between the two of them. It almost seems as if they are using everyone for a personal war. At first I thought they were working together; with Tarlock making things easier for Amon to gain supporters by passing stupid laws. But now maybe he’s calling Amon out by saying “Get all the supporters you want. We benders will still stomp you and your army in the end.”

Tarlock possibly having something to do with Amon’s family getting murked perhaps?

No matter how much I liked this episode, it’s not the kind of episode I can watch more than once.

I cant stomach that flashback.

I already liked Tarrlok.

Now I like him even more. I’d get man moist but my man moisture is a weapon in his hands.

This has been a golden rule of females since the 1st moments of the universe, it doesnt have to be learned it simply"is". Although I suspect korra and her will eventually end up as friends towards the end of the series…which you can tell is just a work of pure fiction cause that shit ain’t never happening between 2 women in real life.

Anyhow is episode is quite simply DAMN amazing. It’s funny how at 1st I got the impression korra was a lot more advanced and ahead of her skills in terms of bending then ang was due to her cocky attitude in the 1st episode. However it looks like korra does kind of suck at least as far as avatars go…like she’s been KO’ed and beaten in nearly every confrontation with amon so far and her recent loss just makes her look free as fuck. I wonder if this is because bending as a whole just got weaker or because non-benders adapted. When you consider the bender gods of the last series(firelord, uncle, ang 3rd season)its a bit hard to believe this new generation of benders is getting overcome so effortlessly by non-benders.

You mean the one where she rushed the shit out of Tarrlok and only lost because he had a trump card?

Pretty much.

She was about to roast Tarlock until lolicanbloodbendwithoutthemoonbitch.

(Yeah, I also think “Soundbending” is Air’s secondary. Gasbending, as silly as it sounds name-wise, would be rather awesome too.)

I noticed this yesterday after watching the end of the episode again, but given what a lazy bastard I am, I didn’t want to post on SRK since I went for a walk and working on something else. Anyway, in the most recent flashback, the guy who is probably Tarrlok’s father appears to be bloodbending the entire courtroom. While in handcuffs.

Unless it’s night court and it’s like a full moon outside, then…he seems absurdly powerful/dangerous.

Are you talking about Electric Baton Guy? (He really needs a [nick]name.)

Because he showed up fine in the very next episode.

Not that I haven’t wondered about her ruthlessness–since I’ve wondered about Lin’s, especially since she launched two people off the roof even harder–or that think it’s wrong to try to kill someone who is trying to kill you, which Tarrlok clearly tried to do. It’s just kinda…jarring on someone who was supposedly defenseless/already defeated, especially given Aang’s technical pacifism being such an important part of the first show.

It wouldn’t exactly surprise me. Bloodbending looks painful and “at best” looks unpleasant/uncomfortable, especially if you try to fight it. (And why wouldn’t you?)

She’s had visions in the presence of both because both have knocked her unconscious. I’m pretty sure that’s all there is to it.

Him hitting on Asami was hilarious, especially since it’s the first time we’ve seen him act coherent.

Watch him turn out to be gay.

Get man moist anyway. He can already use your blood against you, which certainly explains the awesome, not-painful priapism; a little more wetness shouldn’t hurt.

(Whoa, this manages to sound even creepier typed out.)

I still dont think bending has gotten weaker. I think we are all still a little blinded by the final fights in the last air-bender. Keep in mind with Sozin’s comet firelord, uncle, and Aang were all powered up. And we are only 8 episode’s in. Sure this series is moving faster but in the first series we really didn’t get to see really powerful bending till the fire nation invaded the south pole, which again was during the full moon and 20 episodes in.

for real. she was gonna drop dat hammer on his ass.

You always knew he was a schemer but I actually gained respect for him during his dust up with Korra.

I wouldn’t say it is all benders. Korra just doesn’t have the air bender keep away tactics or the Avatar state that Aang used to fall back on in the early part of the first series. She is basically all about the rush down and overwhelming people because she grew up knowing that was the way to win simulated fights that she was taught bending in. You can see her starting to change in the pro bending matches and here on you will see a little bit of growth as well. She is getting smarter in fights and learning to use what she has. The other benders usually get straight out hustled by the equalist foot ninjas in close quarter combat (Which has been benders’ bane since the first series with the Blue Spirit and Ty Lee) and their tech or taken by surprise.

This last episode is probably the first one on one bending battle we’ve seen in this show where there were two sides and both went all out. And based on the direction of the story we should see some more down the road.

I will say this as well when Korra finally goes into the Avatar state, she is going to fuck some shit up.
