Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

SPOILER ALERT

WARNING!

Okay so I just finished season 1 and I got a bit of a question, (this show kicks serious ass) okay so Ang has to defeat the firelord because when the comet comes back the firelord will be beefed up because of the comet and be unstoppable. How come Ang isn’t going to get beefed up the same way? Wouldn’t his firebending be really badass too? Thanks in advance.

Its not just the firelord-- its EVERY FIREBENDER IN THE WORLD.

He has to beat the firelord before then, or else they’d still be unified enough to coordinate an attack while at 4-5x power.

Well, if you didn’t watch it by now, you already missed it.

Next week is a new episode too, so it’ll be basically new episodes until the end of the season. Someone post a torrent link once the episode comes out.

A full hour of new Avatar and I caught ALL of it!

-I can’t believe Jet is back! His hatred towards Firebenders isn’t gonna end very well, I bet!

-Sokka is a pimp! First, he and Suki finally hit it off, and now we find out that Toph has a bit of a crush on him. IMO, He almost has this “Usopp” thing going on, because he’s a goof, he’s funny, really smart, and has fangirls!

-Heh, Aang should change his name to “Aangst” or something. Just kidding, but he obviously couldn’t pull off the hard-shell stuff for much longer. I hope he finds Appa, though.

-It’s official: Katara wins ANY highdiving cannonball contests! Waterbending Bomb FTW!

-Plus, it’s nice to see Azula, Tai Lee, and Mei once again. Mei was all like, “Fuck that, I’m just gonna chill back while you do the dirty shit.” Tai Lee was also cute with her ditzyness and hand-to-hand combat skills. I should also mention the fact that she still likes Sokka, only adds to his pimp-status.

-Aang and co. owning that drill was also some good shit! Waterbending can create blades, huh? That’s very awesome! However, not nearly as awesome as Aang’s battle with Azula, which led to him delivering the deathblow to that drill. When it comes to battle finishers, that was almost on par with Luffy hitting Crocodile with the Gum-Gum Storm in my book!

-sigh How many more episodes will there be until we no longer hear Mako’s voice anymore?

On a sidenote, I realized that I missed the Teen Titans movie and that Robin and Starfire shared their true feelings, along with a liplock (I think I can hear Robin/Raven supporters screaming bloody murder).

That blue stuff that Firebending girl emits, is it fire or lightning?

Sometimes both.

Her normal fire is always blue, but she also shoots lightning.

But she does a special stance when she shoots lightning.

Apparently, they had season 3 recorded before he died, since that is apparently the first thing you do in animation.

What is kinding ticking me off is how Toph is still pretty much the loner. She stayed outside in the library, and in this episode, she stayed outside to stop the bigass drill. I understand that it makes sense for her to do this stuff, but you’d think that she would be around a bit more, considering she is a new character.

The drill ownage was top tier. I wonder if the daughter is so badass, then how badass must the firelord be?

Actually, I like that Toph is still a bit of an outsider. These are pretty much the only friends that she has ever had. The show has been dealing with her blindness more and more to show that she is uber like we all thought we should be, though for believable reasons–ice, sand, air, and water. Other than that, Aang and Sokka and Katara have been a rather closr group for a substantial period of time before Toph came along, and while they accepted her, she probably still feels somewhat awkward. The recent tension over Appa probably hasn’t helped that much.

Now that they’ve made it to solid ground, I’m sure they’ll take some time to show the group getting closer.

Still, she continues to own the shit out of things. I’m surprised that Tai Lee survived being the sludge water/mud for long.

Speaking of ownage, that last fight with Azula was pure ownage. Waterbending really does look it’s top tier, but it’s nice to see that it was air and earth bending that took Azula out. Azula’s so damned hot. is burned for his puns

Too bad Mei didn’t get to do much. It’s kind of said that she can’t live up to her full elite-ness since she uses knives.

P.S. My mother has a horribly dirty mind. She immediately though the giant drill looked like a giant cock, though not in a so explictly vulgar way.

What the heck is running through her mind?

Anyway, I rewatched the scene where they were cutting through steel griders with water, is because of that special “miracle water” the water master guy gave her? Or is something else.

And if it is the water what is so special about it? Dasani Power!!!

That be normal water. Remember Aang refilled that bottle in the desert? The special water is somewhere else.

Damned,

I understand that, but I guess its just because this season feels so slow because of that long break.

And I want to see Aang and Azula fight, without Aang handicapped to shit. Anyway, Aang is almost fully broken now. He’s a combination of Storm and Sentinel.

Doesn’t explain cutting through steel unless we’re going to get scientific here?

Except with out the coolness factor.

You mean magical? Water can be used to cut through steel at a high enough pressure. They did it gradually by chucking the water back and forth at high-speeds while molding it.

This can’t be a debate since either it was, or it wasn’t the ‘special’ water. And it wasn’t. It wasn’t the container that the guy gave it to her in, and she even said that she refills that container with whatever water happens to be lying around.

The water he gave her was probably some healing-type crap.

Honestly?

Considering she thought of it before me, I don’t want to know.

Probable rust and ice for the “I don’t fucking know”.

Stabby EDIT: Nevermind. Stabby got to it.

High pressure water jets can cut damn near anything. The water was moving very fast in a thin stream.

Though it IS just a cartoon, lol.

Yes, in a form of a beam at extremely high pressure and density. (Bill Nye the science guy should this!::lovin:) The fact that I could see the water travelling means it wasn’t sufficient in the general sense. Even with impurities…oh wellz…

You can see the water being shot out of a water jet. http://www.waterjets.org/waterjet_testfire.jpg

Well it’s probably IMPLIED that it’s traveling at a fast enough speed to cut through eventually. And actually if it’s possible to do that through water bending, does that mean you can make a blade of wind if you compress it enough? If so I’d think he could just cut through all that metal with an ultra thin wind blade.

Cool. :bgrin: I said “should” when it should’ve been “showed”.
