Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

Props to LeSean Thomas The Boondocks animator. No wonder these scenes are better.
I think people see the correlation between him and Ty Lee is because the whole squad can chi block. Who was so far the only chi blocker we knew of? Ty Lee? Is it possible she taught Amon and the clique? Yeah.
Yeah. They are pitting the two against eachother. “Spirituality is gone”. If the Spirits actually gave Amon the power then it would most likely mean that Aang fucked up somehow (which will probably be addressed in The Promise). Hell, bending has gone to mob bosses and hooligans. I wouldn’t be shocked if they wanted to search elsewhere for spiritual people.

Should the thread name be changed tho? :xeye:

Stabby’s prob. too lazy to do it =V

Great ep. IMO, and is it me or are the bouncer and the head of the Pro Bending tournaments were voiced by the same person?

Enjoy guys-

It sounded like it with just a slight change in his pitch. That voice actor appears a lot in a bunch of stuff as the gruff big guy. Overall I really liked this episode.

Amon’s Powa

Spoiler

To be honest, Amon is very much like those religious fanatics. THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU! Do these guys actually have the divine power to make these people faint? Probably not but they are very manipulative and charismatic that they can fool the weak-minded. Chi-blocking and Energy Bending are somewhat similar but in different tiers. I think he may have just mastered a higher level of Chi-Blocking to extend the Bending restriction more than others. Now the other theory is that… he found some troll-tastic Lion Turtle that taught him this technique lol.

How long until Korra meets Aang like Aang met Roku?

Re:Amon’s P{owa

Spoiler

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Aang fucked up some where and told to do it or if it is someone related to the previous Fire lord. I can believe he took their power but I suspect someone else informed him how to do it.

Since she was stated to not be good at the spiritual side of bending I’d say a while. But then again this series is only 26 episodes long so probably during or after mastering air bending.

Has there ever been a time in the avatar universe where all benders, and non benders lived together in peace?

Every time Amon did this to a bender, he targeted a pressure point on the right side of the neck/shoulder in conjunction with the right temple and the place where mystics say your “Third Eye” is, the center of your brow. These were not just touches or strikes, but steady, hard pressure. Possibly he’s using that pressure to permanently damage key nerves in these points.

They’ve explained that there was a time before bending and where bending game from
Earth - Them Moles
Fire - Them Dragons
Air - Bison
Water - Water

Compare non benders near/in Liberty City to minorities in early America

I thought water Benders were inspired and powered by the moon.

I’m sure some time after the war in Last Airbender. In The Promise, earth kingdom and fire nation citizens start to live in harmony (Hence Mako and Bolin being two different types of benders, yet come from the same parents). My guess is that people from the water tribe will begin to move inland since that is where all the industrial booms take place. Steam-powered technology = new jobs for water benders.
However, I doubt many of the conflicts in avatar history was due to bender vs. non-bender differences, up until now.

That story was BS. He’s a leader of a rebel party speaking at a rally trying to gather support for his cause. Sympathetic stories like the one he told is a good way to sucker people.

It was the moon. Benders studied how the Moon controlled the tide of the water or some shit like that

I thought this too, but I can’t take Aang’s chinstrap seriously B. If I was Korra I would of deadass laughed at the nigga lmfao.

but yeah, case in point, people stopped respecting spirituality, and shit is outta wack in New Yor- er… Republic City. I wanna know if Suki and Sokka had babies and Yue coming back as moon goddess and laying down law.

That was an awesome episode today. The fight scenes have definitely improved, and it raised a lot of interesting questions. I cant wait to see where they go with Amon.

Yes, it’s Kevin Michael Richardson. He also voices Panthro in the new Thundercats series.

Production on this show is literally through the fuckin roof! Loving it so far. ON PAR with the previous 4 seasons imo.

I wonder if the reason some of the pro-benders seem weaker is because they’ve moved away from the spiritual roots of their bending. For instance, in the first series, you wouldn’t see people running out of power after only a few minutes like you’ve seen some pro-benders do. Plus, it would make sense if the show plays up this angle since it’s one of Korra’s problem and the move away from traditional bending has been brought up before. Not to mention, the lose of spirituality in general would fit with the changing time period.

If Amon was telling the truth, which I doubt he was, I wonder if they’ll make him be Mako’s father. I hope not. Right now, I’m betting Amon is a bender.

Yeah I know the VA but forgot his name ^_^;

Also, Amon is the Anti-Avatar.

I really want him to be telling the truth. None of this ruthless power grab under the guise of a noble cause bull shit, that was dumb in Pokemon Black and it would be dumb here. Let Amon be a man who has legitimate reasons to hate bending and truly believe that he has a mandate from heaven to rid the world of it.

LOLERSKATES!?
