I don’t like to air my thoughts about what other people feel or opinion but I think some Bison players are generally too complainsive and dont accept the character even to this day. I never had a problem with Dictator since vanilla and only that I wanted for him was an ultra to punish fb’s in the next one which they did.
Since the dynamics of dictator changed in the ultra department more dash fwrd, focus dash fwrd Ultra will have to be implemented against shotos and plasma characters that like to follow up with more fb’s at mid screen close range. U1 is better fitted for this as it will cut that option
Here are some positives about the character.
Dictators stengths:
-One of the best hard hitting pokes in the game (ST RH)
-Fast frame crouching short
-crouching fierce aa (situational)
-st rh aa (situational)
-escape options: even if he is an option select dummy at this point we should know when to escape with or block! Block then determine a safe escape based on the situation! Block, walk out of block string, look for the pursue and react to it!
-Good air to air (Hell attack, jump straight up fwrd
-st strong punishes stuff like kens whiffed fwrd, fwrd (you can super on hit confirm)
-st. fwrd is gdlike
-walk speed is gdlike (almost like chuns)
-very agile
-close st fierce stuffs crouch techs when setup
-focus attack decent
-Is better at close combat (rushdown) than most characters
-I meter puts the fear of throwing fb’s against him (ex scissor)
-ex psycho escapes, ex psycho fadc safe (3 meters)
-Jump fierce after knockdown very good (crosses up at times on fat and tall characters)
-good crossup (back throw setups makes this more ambiguous)
-back throw sets up for ambiguous crossups situations in general
-crouching roundhouse is good as a footsie at times. For example at a certain range cr RH Trades with a Ryu fb at the right spacing
These are some of his strengths! Someone can post all his weaknesses. I know what they are but weaknesses of character can be overcome by its player depending on what the weakness is.
One more thing is that some would like for Dictator to have an overhead but that goes against the rule of the character. On top of that he cant have ALL of that and then a overhead…its the universal balance of things. A character cannot have EVERYTHING but cover himself well in the department of MOST things.
Overall Bison is very good and i dont see why anyone would complain about him overall but thats me. Matchups will always be for and against you and is something you have to overcome. Dictator is alot more of a thinking character and is not mindless rushdown like some ppl may believe.

Street Fighter 2
CE -A Tier type character very tough but no reversal
Hyper Fighting- Toned down but still good (ps and scissors were toned down) better arch on demon stomp. No reversal
Super-Good! Obtained Devil reversal and hell attack. no reversal
Super Turbo_ Very good. Trajectory of dr changed (more aerial) Super can be used as a reversal now
Alpha 1- S-Tier. CHEAP. DR is too fast and comes down too fast as the same for headpress. Startup time on supers were fast and freezes the screen so you cant flinch. 0 recovery on block
Alpha 2- Toned down. All his moves are slower and is much more FAIR.
Alpha 3-C Tier type character. Not as good as he was in previous alphas. Good priority though
CVS1- Not great but good. Has a new 2 hit move. Standing fierce was now a aa. Was a ratio 3 so he dished out good damage
cvs2- A- Tier. Custom takes alot of damage. RC Psycho crusher for escape. Builds meter quickly for a custom (usually by running away, dr and whiffs)
cfj- Good fast attacks and alot of plus frames on his normals. Represented a ST character so he dealth damage.
HDR- Dont know too much about him but to my knowledge he got buffs in his normals from ST. Like you can do standing jab and it will aa sometimes. Thats all I know
Hyper Alpha- Depends on your skill. Good on marvel mode (Shin Bison) can push block and has chains on darkstalker mode. He is a character that is reflected upon the player skill level.
People have always jumped in on bison at ranges where he cant anti-air. Thats every game. However when he gets a custom, Super, ultra etc. they dont jump anymore and that dictates the pace of the match.
