Why are some of you asking for a release of neo wave with XI? They already released neowave in the states.
It was only released on xbox, it hasn’t come out on PS2 yet.
So get an xbox.
Well said.
I’ll be picking up a copy.

Bill Wood perfectly explains my campaign thus far…in that paragraph…
KOF 2006 should have cost $50. It cost $30.
50 - 30 = 20.
Give SNK their 20 bucks back.
I don’t think people comprehend the current state of the fighting game union…99.99% of the US gaming public couldn’t care less about this, and SNK STILL BROUGHT IT OVER HERE…FOR YOU. The hardcore fighting game fans.
This isn’t about AOF being the best fighting game series ever. People don’t buy Centipede/Dig Dug compilations because the games stand the test of time. They buy them because of nostalgia. They buy them because they’re classics that helped define the genre. They buy them out of respect.
And, in this case you buy it to support a company that is trying harder than ANY to satisfy a niche audience: fighting game fans.
A.K.A. YOU.
How many people here ever saw AOF3 in the arcades? I know I didn’t. When was the last time you saw AOF 1 or 2 in an arcade? WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW AN ARCADE?!?!
Perspective: 3 very rare, very classic, very JAPANESE games…imported to the U.S. for 15 - 20 dollars.
Don’t slap SNK (and the future of U.S. fighting games) in the face when they’re trying to cater to us. Pick up AOFA (and KOF 2006 if you haven’t already…it’s probably EVEN cheaper now).
Otherwise, kiss any hopes of Neowave, NGBC, KOF, etc. buh-bye.
“The Power is YOURS!!!” - The Captain of Planets
Lone Wolf…you’ve been repped good shit.
I know you coming out to EVO North when I hold my SNK Event there right???
Without a doubt SNK is… " The 100MEGA SHOCK! "
True.
In addition to that, this game didn’t get delayed a billion times, unlike previous SNKP releases, it came out in time (well, actually it came out 2 weeks earlier than the first announced release date) which is a very good thing and shows that SNKP is at least trying to make things better.
I was going to buy KOF 2006, but now that KOF MI Regulation A has been announced for JPN PS2, I’ll get that instead. I think that game is likely to get a US release considering that MI1 & MI2 sold better than any of SNK’s 2D fighters. We’ll have to wait and see.
are there any extras on the disc?
I just order mine.
I dunno, I want to support SNK and all, but I’m not a big fan of AoF. If there’s extras however I might pick it up. If not, I’m just gonna wait for the Fatal Fury Battle Archives to get released here.
My biggest confusion with this is WHY AOF?! SNK has the Last Blade Collection and TWO Fatal Fury Collections to choose from, yet they go with Art of Fighting. I might be wrong here, but surely someone at SNKP USA (or SNKP Japan, whomever made the call to bring this over) knows how bad the AoF games are in comparison to the FF series. I’m thankful SNK is making an effort to release more fighters here, but I’m dumbfounded as to why they chose AoF over the other options.
Well I went to all the Gamestop’s and EB Games in my area and not a single store has the game or will be getting it in. Looks like I’ll just have to order it. So KOF 2006 is cheap now? I never got around to playing that one (not a big fan of MI) but if I can get it and AOFA for $30 or less I’ll grab them for both my collection and to support SNK. Hell I bought Card Fighters DS mainly to show my support for them in hopes of getting KOF Nests here.
You should get KOF 06 it was pretty fun and not shitty like MI.
Me too but I have a feeling that when it does come out they will just re-release it with part 12 or something. It’s just another way to make money.
Like the 2 disk set of 2000/2001, 2002/2003
I got the anthology for 18 bucks.
I knew it was not going to be as great as other fighting games but I was hoping that it would play as fatal fury 2 cause I remember playing that game for hours.
Unfortunately it plays more like fatal fury 1. Very slow controls and the computers kicks your as like crazy.
I must warn all of you that it can be very frustrating at times especially when losing to the computer many times in a row.
I already imported this last year.
Too bad they still didn’t add practice mode.
People complain about these games being playable, but I or anyone I know have no problems with the controls or mobility in these games.
It’s just the 4th taunt button which is usually a hard kick for SNK games that throws people off.
Just read gameplay on gamefaqs or instructions, all it takes to enjoy these great old skool games is just learning how to play them, plus the fact AOF introduced a lot of what is now standard fighting game 101 accompanied with gorgeous graphics (at the time).
Probably the toughest thing I had to get used to was the ki meter. You know, the one that drained with every special move. I was used to SF and FF where I could do my specials all day long. Also, the generally slow pace of AOF always kind of put me off. It’s fun,for sure, but it definitely wasn’t as good as some others.
I hate AOF.
I am still buying this collection.
SNK… I love you and will always support you. Just give me a arcade-perfect US MOTW release and I am yours forever.
