There are laws that state that we educate the children. But at the same time most illegal immigrants that are adults don’t travel with children. There are a children who cross illegally (most of them looking for their mothers who left to try and earn money to send back). But really, at the end of the day, it isn’t the illegals at the welfare line but they are the ones pumping money into social security that they will not recieive.

Honest part of the thread that needs to be addressed at a national level. There are plenty of people who feel disrespected by illegal immigration. Most of the U.S. do not necessarily hate immigrants at this point, just the ones crossing illegally. This is a huge part of the problem when talking about immigration, what it does and doesn?t. Unfortunately one of the reasons why the debate at a national level doesn?t go anywhere (mind you, I agree with you and completely understand your point, you just happen to illustrate something that is very emotional about this issue that is often ignored).

Firstly, you’re mistaken that they don’t come here in families. Again, not 100% of the illegal immigrants that come from Mexico are age 20-50 males who work the fields to send home money to their family. There are all sorts of demographics that come here, and again, you know that with at least some of the illegal immigrants, they’re taking their entire family.
And yet another time, you know that schools aren’t the only social service that illegal immigrants are taking part in, at the expense of taxpayers and the at the expense of the opportunity for another American whose place they take (which is a huge problem with subsidized housing).
You can feel free to say that you think we should have open borders and should foot the bill for the illegal immigrants, and that’s not necessarily a “wrong” opinion to have. But you’re trying to rationalize it backwards while dancing around what your opinion really is.
