Because Iraq is so happy with all the “rebuilding” we are doing over there
You know, I really really want to bite on this. So fucking bad! But I’ll just say read up on 1070 before you catch the left side of the news and Movie-stars/Singers inputs. Oh wait too late.
Not the point, but whatevs.
I believe everything the Media tells me. Especially the movie stars and singers with their razor-sharp political advice. You can’t lie on TV, they won’t let you.
So i wonder how many people in this thread have actually read the law. Really not a fan of AZ in general, but hot damn i like this law. Our Governor’s got balls.
Where are your papers!?
Illegal immigration shares an etiology with the practice of tipping - both stem from America’s apparent belief in the right of employers to not have to pay people a decent wage.
So, the employer saves lots of money on illegals. Consumers save a bit of money at the supermarket.
…but things have a way of coming out in the wash. The money that the employers save by NOT offering enough money for American citizens to consider showing up to perform what is often hard, back breaking work, is coming out of the taxpayers’ pockets in the form of the strain that the cheap foreign labor puts on state, federal and municipal resources.
In Arizona in particular, it is the general public - and not the employers who hire the labor - who contribute the lion’s share of the taxes keeping Arizona and its cities in money.
The employers, you see, are offered tax breaks in order to encourage them to operate in Arizona as opposed to, say, Nevada, or even Mexico.
Cheap labor, low taxes - you can save a lot of money that way. Enough to encourage politicians to approach the problem by attacking illegals (and anyone who happens to looks like one), rather than the companies who hire them.
So. That’s the greed angle, which I believe is the primary agent here. Racism is merely running interference.
OH SHIT CHECK THE LOCATION!

Also, just so you guys know, there is an issue of gang and drug related crime to this bill, so everyone talking about mexicans taking jobs, rethink that position
Also, I disapprove of the law personally. Most mexicans are hella hard workers that keep shit moving, it’s the fuckups trafficing drugs and dropping the gang violence that end up mucking shit up.
There’s a solution to almost all drug related crime and violence that doesn’t require relegating everyone with brown skin to second class citizen status.
It just appeals more to pragmatism than it does to distrust and spite. And it would put a lot of policemen, prosecutors and prison guards out of work.
I definitely agree. Personally I feel like this entire situation is pandering to the john mccain az crowd. There are literally marches and protests everyday right now in tucson, so I imagine there’s a lot of shit that’s going to change (or at least I can hope so)
why can’t they legalize good stuff like pot and prostitution?>
BWUAHAHAAHAHA at the comments that illegal immigrants do not come here looking for handouts and that they are important to the economy.
Yes its true that they seek a better life, but you know damn well the bullshit they will pull to try and reap every benefit they can. Getting paid cash and not paying taxes, taking advantage of all social medical aid even if they did not need it, letting them claim their children on someone else income tax forms and splitting the money. The list of bullshit people pull is funny. Oh well being hispanic i am supposed to be against this bill, otherwise i am a racist coconut.
I’ve been saying this for YEEEARS. Illegals wouldn’t be flocking to this country if there weren’t people hiring them so why isn’t anyone going after these assholes? I suspect it’s because these corporations have a lot of influential people in their back pockets, including politicians so I guess I’ve answered my own question.
Also, that bullshit reasoning that the illegals do jobs that Americans don’t want to do: utter garbage. I’ve been to the unemployment offices and have seen hundreds of people who are desperate for work, ANY work including these “loathsome” jobs, but how can they compete with someone who is willing to do the job for much cheaper and little to no benefits of any kind?
Well legalizing it would get rid of an illegal market for it like outlawing prohibition… but any idiot could grow it themselves, the stuff that the government gets paid off of better be high quality if weed does get legalized.
if your illegal then get walking.
Now the only illegal that I actually knew was a great guy, hard worker, but he’s been deported at least twice and keeps on coming back.
USA is becoming Mexico jr, and once the USA gets to the poor levels that mexico is at, they’ll just illegally immigrate to canada.
If you’re illegal, and you get caught, then you deserve to be deported back to what ever country you came from. My parents and the rest of my family who are living in the States immigrated legally in order to live in this country. And we are still trying to get a few more family members to come over legally. If you are here illegally, you should be deported, it’s not fair that they should stay, especially since they didn’t go through all the work it takes to come here.
The current immigration system has a waiting list of over 10 years if you are not married to an American, has racial quotas etc, it is completely broken and completely, utterly not an option for the people sneaking in illegally. I am personally getting fucked by emmigration policy RIGHT NOW and couldn’t give a flying fuck if anyone breaks the law and is here illegally.
Secondly, illegal immigrants DO play plenty of taxes. And plenty of AMERICANS don’t pay their medical bills either. It’s all bullshit… the current system is bogus and deserves to be flaunted. Guess how hard it is for my mom’s ex husband to get his white British wife over here vs. me trying to bring my filipina GF…
(BTW I am not really arguing with you, just ranting semi-on topic…)
I support Arazona. I wish texas would do that. Also i agree with racial Profiling. Cops take notice on ALL physical traits of people that break laws. Skin color is no different then height or build. If they notice a trend of Illigeals having the same traits then theres probably a pattern they should keep in mind.
Reminds me when people diddnt want to only search the bags of Middle eastern lookin dudes at the airport. Cause thats racial profiling. But when such a high percentage of dudes involved in attacks look like Middle eastern dudes… it just makes sence to me if thats where they want to focus their attention.
I’m still trying to figure out why anyone would give a fuck what Ricky Martin thinks of this. How did he even enter this topic?
^_-;
Cuz Ricky Martin was Menudo & Menudo is delicious…
Anyway, i visited my white looking Mexican friend awhile back in Phoenix…All i can say is there a bunch of Mexicans in Arizona & a lot of legals look illegal, this whole racial profiling thing is going to be crazy. Then again white man has guns, mexicans have oranges & knives…
LEGAL immigrants. Once the laws were established, we didn’t thumb our noses at them. Damn, I wish bleeding hearts would quit with that air-headed logic.
And I do think employers who knowingly hire them need to suffer. Those are jobs that in this day and age, ACTUAL americans need. I’ve had my identity stolen by 3 migrant workers down in Virginia 8 or so years ago, and that shit was bitch to clear up. Of course, since they were illegals, there were no arrests. Had they been actual citizens they’d get jail time. That’s another problem: they have more rights and benefits than people here legally can get. WTF? Lately, there have been a few announcements about businesses about construction jobs coming up, along with employment opportunities. They make me mad, cuz once the building gets started, you won’t see any of the vast amount of americans who have actual skills and decades of experience in construction, building design, and structural engineering, and are currently out of work. It’s like that on ANY construction site: nobody speaks english, and hardly anyone knows wtf they’re doing, let alone doing it to code.
