america played a large part in ruining south america’s economy. so now the latinos want to cross over. america has only itself to blame. LOL! Also, LOL at this new law. its just not practical. i can see it being abused and innocent immigrants who just happen to be brown being detained for long periods of time.
banning illegal immigration is treating the symptom, not the cause, which is always futile. usa needs to crack down on corporations that employ illegal labor. then it needs to take various drastic actions such as legalizing drugs, which would cripple all the south american drug lords, and help stabilize the entire region. it also needs to send aid to south america, not just money either, but it needs to send experts in various disciplines to help fix their corrupt ass governments and broken economies. i know, i know, the whites are saying WTF no way we’re helping the browns, but think about it this way, its a temporary investment. kinda like how we poured money to the japs after we pwned them in WW2, and that investment paid off in spades. As soon as south america stops being a shithole, people will want to stop crossing over. everybody wins.

Arizona Ethnic Studies Classes Banned, Teachers With Accents Can No Longer Teach English
Wack, IMO
Do you approve?
You are going to be racially stereotyped in this country. To some, if you’re anything other than ‘white’, you’re unwanted. Those same “some” people do not have ruling power, but exist in enough positions of power to make “racial stereotyping” a problem. Is the hate, with no basis, bullshit? Yeah, of course. It always has been. However, the amount of illegal immigrants moving to the U.S. is massive. Something needs to be done, or so many think. I don’t think this is the right path, and I feel that citizenship should be MUCH easier to acquire (seriously, 15-20 years in some cases to get citizenship… come on), but I don’t think it is a bad step. I’m liberal as they come, and I don’t mind immigrants coming from any country, taking whatever job they can get, and living their life. Outsourcing, etc. doesn’t bother me. Money and work isn’t that important to me.
However, you have to understand for a massive portion of this country, immigration is a seriously problem (concerning their agenda). Something needs to be done to appease them. This is a good step to please those people, and I understand WHY people want it. As I said, I don’t necessarily support it, but for their agenda, it makes sense. I don’t see it as that big of an issue. Blacks steal, Asians run rackets across the nation, Hispanics are all illegal aliens. That is what some people will always think, regardless of such a law being in place.
Yeah, it’s always our fault. Never their fault.
Sigh…
Every time we try to do this people scream “imperialist”. Iraq and Afganastan as an example.
I’m kinda getting to the point of wishing we immediately stop ALL foreign aid and build that “Great Wall of Southern US States That Share a Border With Mexico”.
Of course Illegals are humans. Its the fact that they take legal citizen jobs and monopolize our basic labor jobs ( landscaping and basic housework) is the problem. Now its also the regular citizens fault for hiring somebody who doesn’t know how to speak english, or doesn’t understand intermediate english . All because they are cheaper to keep and will work those long hours for an extremely low pay. If these illegals wanted to be treated like american citizens and as equal human beings they would become citizens and learn english and the rights they would become entitled too. An illegal can easily take the same steps that everybody else did. They aren’t forced to come here but they should be forced to learn how our govt and laws work. If they can’t understand just deport them .
Lots of misinformation in this thread.
Undocumented workers do pay taxes. There is the sales tax, but they also contribute to social security. Many buy fake social security cards so they can seem like are legal residents. The IRS reports on getting a ton of fake numbers every year. Most workers are too scared to receive social security because they want to keep a low profile.
If it were easy enough to get a working visa don’t you think people would do it? Why risk being smuggled across the country by suspicious people or risk dying out in the desert? Its not easy or cheap to get a visa. The application process takes years and lots of money to do. Most people do not have the pleasure of acquiring a visa.
Undocumented workers are the most exploited people in this country. They were put in this situation by the USA so we are responsible. Immigration reform is needed. There is no easy solution to this, but it is a problem that must be solved
I agree, lots of misinformation in this thread.
They were not put in this situation by the USA, they put themselves in this situation when they decided to come illegally so they are responsible.
Our corporations fucked up their economies and we supported corrupt governments in the name of capitalism. In the 1950s Bolivia elected a socialist government and the United Fruit Company was having none of it, so a CIA backed coup over threw it. Look at the Nicaragua situation in the 80s. Cuba revolted because 0f a government that put american interests over their own people. NAFTA basically gave free reign for american companies to go into Mexico and run every local company out of business. The thing that saved Mexico was when they nationalized their oil. We put many of these countries in fucked up situations where they have no choice but to come here look for a job because there are none there.
As for the drug cartels, who do you think is the biggest buyer? If there were no money being made selling drugs in the USA the drug cartels would not bother.
It is sad that no is really looking at the bigger picture. Even if we enforce stricter border security, people are going to keep coming. This is putting a bandaid on much more serious wound. If we can find a way to stabilize latin america so they can have a decent life, they would not be coming here.
Dude, I’m pretty damn sure all you’ll need is a drivers license or a state ID card at the very least on your person. Pretty much anything that qualifies as legal ID to withdraw money at a bank is sufficient. To get those forms of ID you need to have birth certificates, social security card or equivalent or a passport. Meaning the ID cards themselves are proofs of citizenship to a degree, and green card holders carry those pretty damn proudly like they would any form of ID. You’re not going to have to carry a piece of fucking paper with you. Come on now.
…or how things are.
damn this law that makes it illegal to be here illegally!!!
suppose you don’t have either? i have neither (i’m not an illegal immigrant but a u.s. citizen, born and raised).
anybody could look like an illegal immigrant under this bullshit ass law that this hateful white lady passed although we know good and damn well who fits the description (stereotypical mexican).
this is just complete shit. this is the same country where tons of ppl don’t have id cards, a lot don’t even know where their birth certificate is, etc. some ppl don’t even carry their wallets everywhere.
its baffling that in 2010, we are going back to the 60s.
You don’t need a be a resident to get a driver’s licence, well at least not in California. There was a big issue about it a few years ago
It wont be long until states try to do something about the other minorities breaking the law…
Yes, because that’s what they are cracking down on, minorities. Not people who enter our country illegally. It’s all about dat evil white man oppressin’ everyone.
Thank you for providing us with the flat out stupidest argument in this thread (and that’s saying a lot).
Then go get a state ID? Do you keep all your money in a little box under your bed too? I could be pulled over really easy for the same stuff. I look hispanic too~ but I’m still a legal citizen. I carry ID, if I commit a crime no matter how I feel about it I’ll get in trouble. You’re saying laws should be based around stupid people, and no offense to you but I kind of laughed out loud at what you posted and it felt awfully rude, but goddamn who cannot identify themselves right now? You expect people to respect that kind of ignorance? Are we supposed to take pause over that kind of shit? Like “Damn dude, he…he’s right. We should really think about this.” Fuck, I really don’t know what to say without being a complete asshole, but you’re not being a part of the solution to what is obviously considered a problem in Arizona.
I honestly can’t be a part of this thread without sounding like a complete prick, so I’m out. This is ridiculous. Let Arizona decide with their voices and their votes or with their fists if they’re willing but doing nothing shouldn’t be an option and I’m tired of ignorance being a copout for action. I’m not squeaky clean. I do my share of illegal shit. I know if I get caught, I pay consequences. That’s all this really amounts to. If there are concerns that this will affect law abiding and legal citizens and spill over into my house, I want to hear about it. Until then, I keep my nose clean in front of the ones that matter and don’t get caught. How I feel about the law doesn’t make it right or wrong, it just makes it what it is. The law.
That ain’t the cops, and doesn’t have anything to do with this Arizona law.
That was the Federal Immigration, this law is about local police.
K. Regardless of your thoughts on those wars, we are rebuilding both of those countries.
