My friend skrface13 plays PS pad. He is ranked 10th and 43rd in gp and cp on the PS3 at the moment. Infact all the best players on the other forum I go to play with the pad.
Unless it’s The Stick of Desinty!</guitar riff> don’t expect any miracles I was playing on stick before SF4 came out, mainly SC4 with a bit of Alpha 3 and Mugen, and I still make quite a few “fumbles”
I’ve now put my Madcatz Fight Stick aside and taken the old Hori EX 2 out again, the Madcatz got that bad
was it the SE?
Before I modded my SE I had it for a week and the X button was already failing, now I got sanwa buttons and stick, I don’t have to worry about that for awhile now lol, but the madcatz made buttons are really terrible.
Yeah, only it’s the Y button that is causing me problems. The stick also seemed to imitate 360 d-pad a bit and do unwanted diagonals, something my HEX2 (older and cheaper) stick does not.
I quite like the original artwork on it, need new parts for it though. How easy is it to mod?
not hard at all, just dont be afraid to be rough with the process of taking out and putting in the buttons, it takes alot of elbow grease to force those bastards in, and I needed a screw driver to help pull them out (to poke in those little clamp like thing on the underside of the button), but while being rough with it you must also be carful to not pull at the wires, I’m sure you can get better directions at the tech forums, but its really not a hard process, the hardest part is man handling your baby.
That’s good to know, I contemplated modding my HEX2 but found out it’d require soldering and shit and decided against it (and getting the Madcatz stick).
I just need to order parts then, if I decide to x_x;;
Like when I try to crouch when I’m facing to the right, it’ll give me downback instead of just down, so if I go for a c.lk, lp, hp, tatsu, it doesn’t do the tatsu. So I have to hold forward first, and even then it doesn’t always work!
That, and I’ve mentioned the whole cross under, otoshi pooeyness before
its worth it believe me, because if that hori breaks down, you’re boned, the best thing about the Madcatz sticks are that they are easilly moddable, which means easilly replaceable parts if they break down, but if you get sanwa you won’t have that problem, we use sanwa parts for our street fighter 4 and tekken 6 br arcade cabnets at the arcade where I work, and it takes them forever to finally wear down, and at the arcade you get sore losers who slam on the buttons, kids who just mash the buttons nonstop, and people who think you need to 720 as hard as you can to do a hadoken, and thats just one hour of the day.
I’ve actually been thinking about holding DF for both my linkies, that way I’m ready for both since it’s still pretty easy to do a QCB motion from there and also ready for D DF for Shou too
Hida, I translated your comment “e~to ufufu” ne? “Umm~ heheh” I’m sure you know what it means since you wrote it but I had to investigate
The Hori is pretty sturdy, I have more faith in it than the Madcatz TBH and the Madcatz still works, just not all that well Still parts aren’t that expensive, have to decide on a colour scheme ^^;
