Are you the worst Sakura Player? Vent here

Sounds dirty

sigh It’s frustrating 'cause I actually try to properly time my reversals and due to lag and me not being great at split second timing I don’t get them that often :frowning: When I really want the reversal I mash the shit out of it and will always get it, pretty depressing having to rely on scrubby tactics

same here. but against people who mash i just stop combo midstream and let then srk and then start over again. u can usually do this 3 times before they catch on to what your doing

somethings I still mash like crazy, like if someone does a naked super/ultra, during the freeze I’m mashing ex shouken the whole time because I have no idea when I’m supposed to do the input.

Typically, if i’m going to counter with ultra, i’ll input the QCBs and hold back till the slow down is just about to end then just hit the kicks. Same thing seems to work for EX shuou as well for me (when I remember not to jump)

… I hate Ken-Laggers. I really call BS to them spamming HP SRK and I can not punish them on block, I eat another HP SRK if I try to do a reversal, and when I do punish it, I can’t combo into even a simple c.HPxxEX Tatsu since the lag stops the cancel inbetween the c.HP and the Tatsu.

God I’m sick of loosing to amateur Ryu players. This game is getting more frustrating every day; higher highs and horrible lows. Finally quit a few minutes ago afraid of destroying my TE. Fcuk.

it seems like all i do is lose with sakura. every once in a while i’ll land an EX tatsu and stun some scrub with resets but it’s largely just loss after loss after infuriating loss. i even had a gief taunt me after knocking me down a few times with lariat. i mean, really?

also i’m new guys sup

Yeah, I’ve had Guiles taunt me after landing one air throw. Really? That shit is like a ****ing vaccum and you’re taunting when you land it? Please kid, please.

I had a Blanka taunt me when I was dizzy and he got a swift EX Kouryuken in the face (was playing Dan obviously) Only a pity I wasn’t able to mash out an Ultra.

Not playing for a month or two, I played a random player match to see how I would do. First and second matches, I used Sakura. My opponent was a Ryu(How surprising), I lost because of rustiness and mistimed combos. The Ryu started to taunt me cause of my bad play. Getting a bit annoyed, I switched to Bison. Ryu dizzied me, and started to taunt more. When I got out of dizzy, I flashed white with rage and went into an all-out offense on that Ryu. Made a complete comeback the first round and the Ryu d/ced the second round before I killed him with a Hell Attack into Nightmare Booster. My Bison’s fine, I have to relearn Sakura again.

Gawd. After entering 3 tournaments over this weekend, Sakura is not tourney material. I really do want to get better with Sakura, but she is so behind these top players. I played a few Sak matches online and lost most of them, but when I switched to Ryu and Gouki, I got easy wins.

Someone please tell me to keep playing Sakura before I change my main from Sakura to Makoto in SSFIV.

sakura’s bad matchups = people who know how to play. :frowning:

I think you got to be real patient, im fortunate to get some real time feedback from the big wigs here in dallas, If there is something I have learned from them its, I just need to be calm and asses the situation. I want to say 60% of my losses are due to just getting frustrated and doing stupid shit and getting punished when I should be more on the defensive. 20% is due to being way too agressive when I don’t need to be, 10% is failure in execution, and the other 10% is they just out played me. I played a real sick blanka today (one of my worse match ups) and he was pretty good, and keeping a calm head on my shoulders was able to pretty much go back and forth with the guy. I think sakura, is still tournament viable, well anyone is, you just gotta play to your strengths, and as well as the characters. I stuck with sakura in SFIV, im gonna stick with her in super. She doesn’t have much room to go back, just move forward, and with the super hadouken and full range fireball, mk cross-up and a few other things, I think in Super she will be even more of a force to reckon with, I am by no means the best sakura out there, but I think I do considerably well with what I have to work with, and all of you guys should see an overall improvement with sakura.

At least from what have been reading and seeing, until then I would say its way to close to consider changing mains, wait till super and see how she is for you. I play sakura because I like her play-style.

double post, oops =(

Anyone is “tournament viable” to a point, even Dan doesn’t have matchups worse than 7:3 against but there’s definitely the possibility of winning, just means you have to be better than your opponent to compete on the same level really. If you want easy wins then pick a top tier character :stuck_out_tongue:

I couldn’t agree more.

Yeah I’m a bad Sak, then again I’m bad with everyone cos I’m still a beginner lol. I played with Sak online for the first time today and got beat pretty badly in about 10 fights, including a painfully obvious flowchart Ken which is both embarrassing and maddening at the same time lol. I’ve only had around 50 fights online altogether so I’m not sweating it too much, but sometimes it still can get disheartening, especially when losing to flowchats.

But, right after my beatings I did manage to complete her last two trials on hard lol, might not mean anything to most here but to me its keeping me going with her.

I’m gonna stick with her though cos shes alot of fun, and I’ll get revenge on the flowchats soon enough!

^-- getting her hard trials down are a big step, those are good bnbs for her.

Yeah, if I got online for the first time, right now… forget it. Most people still playing online are SRKers = p. It’d be hard finding flowcharters… then again, I play player matches >>. Maybe Champion and Rank matches still have them.

I still find plenty of flow charts and random BS online :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah I could clearly see what he was doing, guess I got pissed off too much and kept getting caught. I still make the classic rookie mistakes, not checking their jump ins, being too eager etc. I’ve read this entire thread and see I’m not the only one guilty of this hehe, just gotta remember most matches are 99 a round, not 10, theres no real rush. Keep patient and when the time comes open up, I’ve seen videos of what shes capable of and shes like a mini wreaking ball when she gets going lol.

Its also good to see you guys sticking it out and getting results. Back to class for this Sakura.
