You guys have a lot of catching up to do. But it can be done before SSF4 comes out, it will just take constant losing. I admire anybody who will pick up the game at this point and play until they are decent.
I’m just taking a break from the game. So much better when you get back. I get a new sense of inspiration when I do that. When I do, its training mode all day.
LOL G2-D and you feel like the the worst player in SF4 huh? I main Sakura too (I’m almost ready to give up on her though).
Anyway hi everyone. I’ve been reading SRK for a while but this is my first post.
yo happy to have you on the forums but dont give up on sakura! shes too much fun
Listen to this guy. :lovin:
Agreed Sakura’s all about the fun
thanks guys. she’s fun but after 1500+ plus matches (86% with Sak) it’s a little disheartening when random sagryukenakumas SRK out of most of my link combos lol.
Quick question. Do you guys dash after ex shunpu, fadc or not dash for ultra? Sometimes my dash comes out sometimes not (damn DS3).
Left to right I don’t, right to left I dash. I just always bone it up one way but the other makes it easier for me, weird.
If it looks like they’re mashing during link combos then purposely stop after the c.LP and punish the mashed out dragon punch
The easiest way to juggle into ultra is Ex Shunpu/Tastu> Foward Dash> Ultra
FADC is not necessary for this combo. Hit training mode to get the timing down pat. Ex Tastu (Wait for them to launch) … Foward Dash + Ultra (As they are coming down).
Dash everytime in order to get maximum damage and hits. You can half ass it sometimes and not dash, but why not just practice for a bit and get it down pat?
Oh yeah and, Welcome to Sakuraland via SRK dude…
hmm thanks for that. i guess i’ll be in practice the rest of today lol
what he said and when u go for the mix up block. sometimes thats the best way to feel out your opponent. just bait it, block it, and punish. eventually theyll stop dp’ing and then u can go about your marry way.
I think that’s a bad assumption to make Some people just don’t learn, once a masher, always a masher
lol yeah thats true theyre usually ken to lol
Should’ve clicked on yourself just to see what happens. XD
I’m pretty sure this Sakura player was better than he showed, he had to play Sanford for heaven’s sake, but I this is not how you play Sakura vs. Ryu… Although some decent use of Ex Otoshi… http://www.youtube.com/FrameAdvantageDotCom#play/uploads/4/NMP1GD18cUU
(And the announcers thought the player Sakura did a good job… Sakura gets no respect  )
EDIT: Why won’t please stop calling Sak-u-ra Sa-cure-ra? Please!
Actually saying it “sa-ku-ra” is more technically correct
??? - would be how to write it in Japanese (hiragana/katakana).
It’s common for westerners (especially Americans) to mispronounce Japanese names and words, even the most common Japanese words are commonly mispronounced (e.g. karate and karaoke).
There’s two things to remember to make everything simple; 1. phonetics and 2. no syllable stress (which is related to phonetics really)
What I don’t understand is why dubs mispronounce names, all they have to do is listen to the original and copy it
Hmmm… saying Sak-u-ra sounds like Sa-ku-ra in my book lol
But thanks for telling me. I definitely didn’t know that.
I also dislike Abel being called Able.
To the untrained ear perhaps If you were to ask a Japanese person to say “Sakura” slowly they’d split it up as “sa-ku-ra”, reason being there are no single consonant sounds other than ‘n’ in the Japanese language (and also because it’s spelt that way :P). The closest to an ending in a ‘k’ would be “ku”.
I pronounce “Abel” like “Gaybel” Hehe, considering he’s French it’s understandable that the ‘A’ sounds like ‘a’ rather than the name of the letter.
The light bulb went off in my head. Sak-u-ra , Sa-ku-ra sound different for me now. I think it took your last explanation to help me out. :china:
It is very sutble though. Better than SAAA-CURRREEE-RAAA FTW.
