I was at a drunken, wild party last night/this morning… But SF4 was playing in the living room so I didn’t drink(well I drunk a lil) or socialize(well girls kept coming up to me asking me stupid questions) for 8 hours!!! ONLY SF4 AND MVC2… am I a loser? Haha. I don’t regret it though… The girls were ugly and and hot ones seemed to have boyfriends there with them.
There was this Cammy player there (It was actually his copy of SF4)… damn he was good… my Chun beat him 60% of the time, but my Sakura… 0%!!! Damn, am I the worst Sakura player?
But the truth is just that Cammy is my weakness in general. My Sakura has a better chance against the rest of the cast compared to Cammy. I am and have always been scared of Cammy (It’s just a personal thing). And this Cammy player only plays Cammy and is a grandmaster at her and very intelligent. For example he uses hooligan to gain weird position or as anti air, unlike flowchart Cammy’s who use it predictably and stupidly. His combos and air cannon were flawless. My Chun is nasty and could keep up, but my Sakura… I’m sorry for letting you guys down in here. Couldn’t represent like I wanted to with Sakura.
OK, you guys talk about percentages, but also think of what it does to you spirits when you lose all the time.
I’m starting to learn Sakura (Simply because I can’t a real main that fits my gameplay). And I’m losing all the time. I can do some basic combos and techniques, but I can’t seem to get anything down 100%. I haven’t won a single game in Championship mode (I’m G2-D) since I started with her. So I tried getting a few matches in Player Mode, and it’s even worse. I can’t even lay a finger on any of my opponents. It’s embarrassing because they taunt me all the time, and they send me hate mail afterwards telling me how much I suck at this game.
Safe to say, I now feel like I may be one of the worst Sakura players in the game, if not the worst player in SF4 period.
Dude keep playing the game… learn to love losing because of the lessons your learn from it. Become a master at learning what you are doing wrong and get creative in your offesive approach. Get random and see what works… I know none of this is specific because you didn’t specifically explain your problems… But just don’t give up. I sucked for ever, now I am better than everyone who used to whoop my butt. Thats how it works.

If you want help you’re going to have to explain with lots of details, or record some of your matches.
Don’t let them discourage you. Find out why you’re losing and work on it, some cases they’re probably just that much better than you so don’t dweel on it, not everyone can be Daigo ^^
Sounds like you’re playing a bunch of cockheads in that case.
You might find it better playing player matches. Living in Australia player matches are all I have available (champ mode is all 1 bars for me) and I can honestly say that I’ve never had to deal with rage-quitters or hate mailers since there’s no BP on the line and you’re generally playing people who you chat to on a semi-regular basis.
Also if you can meet up with people face-to-face you’ll find that people are much nicer and more helpful then. I lose all the time too, but really I find that when I’m playing with a big group of people everyone cheers for me anyway just because they like going for the underdog :bgrin:

I pretty poor at this game in general. I used to play SF2 back in the day on sega megadrive and thought i was quite good.
But when I play online with SF4 I get beat 9 times out of 10. My total win rate is 11.56% lol.
I’m terrible at defending. It’s not uncommon for me to see Offense:A Defense:E at the end of a match :xeye:
I like playing Sakura but it’s frustrating sometimes cos it feels like I have to work so hard just to get a few hits in. Sometimes I pick Blanka or Zangief just so i can get an easy win by spamming electricty/lariats but that’s no fun.
Anyway if you’re in UK/Europe and wanna play a really shit Sakura on PSN then add me (also play Dan and Gen quite a bit, who I also suck at).
I played a very solid Ryu und Chun for quite some time now. Then I played less and less and switched to stick. Now I decided to play Sakura because I was looking for a new challenge. Got quite beaten up last week, could only land one combo that I finished quite neatly and followed up with a stun. Hope I get better with her footsies and approach-game

Since this is my first post I wanted a thread were I could introduce myself. And what better place than this thread.
My main is Sakura, and I’m currently drowning in G1 on XBL. A couple of weeks ago I made the decision to leave SFIV alone for some time just to clear my mind and order a tournament stick because I just suck at combo’s with my controller or even the fightpad. I even got comments on Live that it clearly showed I don’t use a stick.
But overall, I don’t think I’m doing that awfull. Just before I got to G1 I’ve had a win-percentage of 58% and since G1 that has fallen back to 40-something.
Anyway, at the moment I’m not playing SFIV, but that’s because none of my friends play SFIV anymore, and other SAK’s are even harder to find. I love losing to other Sakura’s! So I’m looking forward to play against one of you.
But please be patient with me for some time: I get my TE stick in 2 weeks and it’ll be the first time I’ll be working with a stick. But if I learn as easily as with a fightpad I should be up to speed within a month.
Oh yeah, I’m dutch so forgive me any spelling errors…

I don’t think I’ll ever get good. I’ve had the game since april and I honestly think I’ve got worse as time goes on. And practice? What’s that? lol. I know I should go through the trails to learn combos and timing etc but I just can’t be bothered. Think I got to normal trail #4 or 5 before I got bored.
I still enjoy playing the game though just for the few times that I do win. I gave up on Championship mode after I got beat by a 1 GP Ken haha (I currently have 361 GP). Wish there was a G4 grade for people who suck as bad as me

Yeah man, I don’t use a stick yet either, but I’ve gotten decent at comobs… You can become decent at anything as long as you practice enough. Welcome to SRK though.
You got to practice man, but I can understand it being boring. Personally I hate losing and will do whatever it takes to improve :karate:
The first thing I did in SFIV was unlock Sakura and I’ve been playing as her ever since.
Unfortunately, since single player and vs. buddies is not so representative of actual competitive play, I’m not good. At all.
The few times I actually have been online, I’ve been destroyed, then told to throw away my game / quit / etc.
If anybody wants to annihilate me in a friendly environment on 360, please don’t hesitate to send me a game invite. I need all the practice I can get.
Same here pretty much. My record is like 1 win and so many losses. I wasn’t planning on maining Sakura, but everytime I do a XBL match I end up picking her.
