A easier way to get in on guile lol
It would be nice if they sped up his cr.Fierce a bit, that way it would fill in the gap for Bison’s AA. Bison’s Far and Close AA are pretty good with st.RH and close st.Fierce, but he kinda lacks that mid range/close AA.
That way it’d make him a bit like Sim or Chun, since he would have to choose the correct AA option for each situation.
I’d like a simple damage increase. Big B has to take risks a lot of times and yea the pressure is good but a little more bang for your buck would be appreciated
Bison is mostly fine. Which is surprising, theoretically he has very little going for him: little damage, no FADC combos, no comeback potential, no good AA, no zoning…
Some thought:
- Giving him a more interesting bnb. Reducing the pushback for c.mp would be an option, as today the c.mp, c.mk 2f link is impractical on most of the cast. I mean, every time I open the guard, it’s light * n, s.hk or light * n, sk. Counter hit setups are fine, but it is reversal fighter 4 we are playing here.

Are they actually going to tweak some stuff in the arcade version or is this thread just wishful thinking? I was under the impression that no tweaks would be made.
This is a wishful thread. I wish I had the power to gather feedback for devs. I just wanted to see what else this community thinks about the current state of Bison in SSF4 as a character design and his placement in the rankings and should he still get some polish?
He could definitely use more polish, given the state of the SF4 engine, but he’s still decent.
I am interested to see what Bison is like in Street Fighter X Tekken. Maybe we will see some of the cool stuff I want like: Cross-up DR, Cross-up Skull Diver, better tracking HS, AA.
You think Bison will be in SFxT? I think they can do a lot of fun stuff with SFxT if they dump him in there. Ryu has the donkey kick in the teaser clips.
I hope so cause if he isn’t I won’t buy it. That’s the main reason I never played 3rd Strike. No Bison no buy for me.
Bison is already Godlike as is. How much more top tier can you make him?
Bison’s not about getting in and doing crazy damage. His pokes are already godlike–His foot is made of a 5ft board with a brick strapped to it that does 100 damage and 200 stun. Good lord.
If you increase the range that thing will out poke Sagat’s s. rh.
The only tweaks he can could use (but are not necessary to his game)
1.) Faster Startup Frames on Cr. fierce.
- Make shoto’s work to get their block-strings. Anything less (2) black line blocks (check training mode for reference) can’t be anti-aired. Aka they get free jump-ins.
2.) General Game tweak, Won’t happen, but a Freaking option to turn off Input Short-cuts.
- If I get teleport instead of ultra one more time, I’m gonna rage.
I feel your pain with the shortcut nothing worse than trying to get U1 and instead you get Teleport right next and u get ultra instead
this thread scares me…
1)his stand HK is fine, if you increase it to be a better AA it’ll be TOO good. we do however need a better anti-air, i’d say making cr HP faster would be amazing.
2)make EX PC grab invincible.
3)make his cr lk 30 damage instead of 20
4)slightly increase the speed of both his DR and HP

make slide faster (startup + movement)
Devils reverse less recovery, both empty and when landing after the flip
buff skull diver hitbox and take 2 frames off the startup and make them active.
I don’t really think these changes would make him much better except maybe the slide theyd just fix some of the stupid shit. Slide is way too slow tho imo.
I was just wondering, not really adding this as a wishlist thing, but what if cr.Hp had juggle/launcher properties? Too OP? I don’t know as it would be, I’m just curious what the reaction would be. I mean, they did make the slide FADCable, I’m just wondering if they did another something strange or unique like that again.
No it would not be too OP. Every special Ryu has juggles…every one. Ryu has 4 normals with 3 frame startup and SRK is 3 frames with complete invince and juggles to Ultra. Giving Bison faster cr.fierce that juggles to U1 wouldnt be overpowered at all. it would just mean you couldn’t jumpin just like against abel, ryu, ken. sagat, honda, balrog, etc.
(not to mention they even gave them shortcuts to perform SRK which completely screws bison over)
If c.HP could juggle, I’d gladly stick to Ultra I forever.
For real though I feel like Capcom gave us alot in Super, and because so many seem like we need more. Capcom is gonna shove it up our asses… like wow ppl we beefed up your character and still you want more? Well let us remind you all what Vanilla bison felt like then, and nerf him in some terrible way.
The only major buff we got was U2, the rest of the buffs were subtle, mostly hitbox changes honestly the hitbox change to PC and making Ex-PC more reliable is all I can think of as far as buffs. Also like a lot of the cast lets not forget we also got dmg nerfs to a fair chunk of our normals. Doesn’t sound beefed up to me yes I was playing in vanilla, its not all that much different beyond me having fun with crossup PC in super, yes we got some tweaks that helped a bit but Bison still has his share of problems, and funny thing some of the major ones are the exact same ones he had in vanilla. Namely his AA options, or lack of them.
