Interesting.
Based on that crappy statement “it will be based on skill of player BS”, as a Bison player and I am not counting online play. Didnt we always have to out think out play most of our opponents anyway? I will still play Bison but now I guess I have to use skill!
I told you guys about the scissor loop nerf. Bison gets fucked once again. AE SUCKS ASS.
BTW it’s not 80 dmg at the TIP it’s 80 dmg anywhere past the FUCKING KNEE! That’s about 95% of all hits.
Guile match will be 8-2 now yay!
Bison will still be god like people where is your inner spirit?
ugh…def not pleased with the sk change and the s.hk They didn’t even improve the c.hp so it’s even more free jump in attacks especially for the shotos all day. u2 more dmg but it’s now a charge…Bison is a dictator not a pussy…he’s all fucked now.
Bison should of stayed in that test tube when they were fixing his body back in SF4 for about 5 more mins. Just saying.
but jokes aside he’s still going to be good. You might have to play him a bit differently now… probly turtle more. Someone said this earlier but yeah he’s going to be more keep away now.
edit: lawl @ the skill shit comment. Why didn’t they say that about the shotos who spam fire ball and mash dp? Fuck off capcom.
in my opinion:
-
greater pushback: it says it’s harder to hit with a c.lk after a scissor kick due to greater pushback. that means it’s still possible. this might just mean instead of being able to do c.lkxxscissor twice after a point blank blocked scissor, we can only do it once before it starts whiffing. i can live with that, if that’s what it means. some people are overreacting and saying bison has no more lk scissor pressure. this can’t be true. i don’t think the nerf matters too much because bison eventually got pushed out anyways while doing scissor kick pressure in the corner, and if you know how to do the pressure you know how to deal with that situation in ssf4 already. it just means this situation will come a little earlier. generally when you get pushed out, you are in ideal footsies range, and the range the enemy can jump in. you can attempt to anti air the enemy’s jump out attempt, or if they are still blocking, focus forward dash back in and throw or do c.lk, or during one of the scissors you could have Focus dashed in deep to remain close to pressure. don’t forget if you land a knockdown at any point with sk you reset the distance for the most part.
-
greater pushback part 2: just trying to think on the other side of the coin now, more pushback also means we push the enemy into the corner even easier with a scissor kick.
-
the hittable box of c.lk being a little worse is okay because it is still a 3 frame move. if i do my 3 frame move and they do their 3 frame move at the same time, we will still trade like normal. if i do a 3 frame normal (c.lk) and they do their 4 frame normal, i will still counterhit them. in practice, i think the only difference is that c.lk is a little easier to punish on whiff probably. for the most part, i can also live with this change
-
st.hk damage nerf is ok too because functionally it still is a great pre-emptive anti air move due to frame data and hitbox. i seldom used st.hk to anti air except when the enemy jumped at very long ranges anyways. all this really means is maybe you should get used to using c.hp, or work on spacing yourself better so you don’t get jumped in on. the times when you have nothing you can do about the jump in (like when you did a normal like st.mk and they jumped over it) are not really changed by this nerf.
-
charge ultra 2 you guys already discussed alot. it’s a big nerf to the move unfortunately and i don’t like it, but i can live with it. after you neutral jump you are still a threat to an enemy throwing a fireball because instead of ex scissor you will be throwing out U2. of course you could have done this pre-patch as well, so oh well.
-
the projectile invincibility on the super seems like an okay change. it’s definitely another tool to use but i don’t know if we’ll be seeing bisons saving up meter to do one big anti projectile move. i’d rather land ex scissors here and there and gain momentum across the entire match, but who knows, maybe it will find its place (people were saying guile matchup, perhaps)
I don’t want to be nasty or anything but these changes are only going to hurt
scrubby or spammy Bipsons. He’s less user-friendly now when you come right down to it, but still above much of the cast. If your only means of pressure or even offense was sk loops, you’re doing it wrong. Don’t overlook Bison’s strengths- mobile, great normals, nice reversal options, godly pokes and his tic throws are really good too. They didn’t mess with those one bit.
so…

:x
I’m still playing Bison, but the Guile matchup hasn’t changed at all. What is up with that? It’s like the worst matchup in the game now.
Actually that’s not true, I think Guile Sim got worse for Guile since he builds less meter now, but…son, I am disappoint.
yeah Guile still shits on Bison lol. But that’s what secondaries are for
Yun and Yang goodness. That’s what’s up.
I think out of all of the things the st.hk nerf will be the one that hurts the most. Cr.hp is not viable in a lot of matchups and st.hk is prone to trading as it is.
On second thought not all the changes are being listed so who knows maybe st.hk will have some of its vulnerablility fixed so it becomes a better AA as a trade for the damage hit. Then again it is probably best to just assume the worst gief matchup just got a whole lot worse, from gief buffs to bison’s bad aa trades getting worse.
Yeah the changes are all good
AS LONG AS WE DONT GO BACK TO THIS
Buff my anti-airs please. We also don’t have a nice anti-cross up close normal for anti-air, would it have been hard to put that in too?
Ya and seriously how hard would it be to give a brother a fireball, rite?
Funny, the characters who force you to jump at them have anti-airs for all situations, while the ones who don’t get the short end of the stick. Roundhouse is 80 at tip, and as anti-air it trades quite a bit (unless it was buffed as a hitbox? I’d be fine with the damage then). Otherwise this is like vanilla Sagat j.mp and trading with everyone in his favour. Good times.
Interesting changes. Really gonna have to see the pushback, i doubt it’s anything terrible.
Bison is still the shit though. :wgrin:
I guess my offensive bison will be laid to rest now… I guess learning how to turtle should be a blast:mad:…I will not drop the character! as much as capcom likes to poop on their boss characters :shake: well I guess all that’s left is to hold :db: all day from full screen and anti air and force jumps oh wait…
“Light Scissor Kicks push back further when blocked, making it harder to punish him, but also making it more difficult to keep pressure on with Crouching Light Kick afterwards.”
Thank God!!!
I used to get punished all day for doing lk scissor kick on ppl, that move is so unsafe…
Good stuff bro, way to turn that  upside down
wdup with mgl though?!?
