Super!!! hehe

Wow, just…wow. You guys are amazing. The thought of simply wiring buttons and a stick so that they’re functional seems daunting to me, but you guys have really taken it to the next level.

A few pages back I saw the video from Gummowned using capacitors to create a fading effect. Adds so much class and professionalism! I gotta be honest though, I know nearly nothing about voltage limits, USB power, current, and frankly…capacitors scare me. I’d love to try a light up mod but right now the thought of possibly (read most likely) ruining something is kind of intimidating, especially if I can’t run out and just pick up another one right quick.

I saw a bit ago that some of you guys use breadboards to make little experimental test circuits and such. I feel like I should muck around with something like that first, what do you guys think?

Get your hands on some open source hardware!
the Arduino is a great little started into hardware communications and understanding simple circuitry

$29 for the official branded but you can find 3rd party Arduino compatable boards for as low as $15

Project Arc-Eye using stock SE Madcatz PCB

Awesome stuff people! Quick question. Is it possible to tap into the red usb wire (vcc) of the stock usb/pcb of the SE Madcatz fightstick to power the leds? Thanks!

You can do that, yes.

Ok, here in this thread, too. I`ve assembled the buttons in a TE with black faceplate plexi.

Currently I`m working on enhancements of plexi button inlays.

WOW!!!
Lets see it lit up now!

Very nice! All you need now is to post pics with the buttons lit up

That and ship some of those inserts over to the states! I need those in my life right about now…

^
this… lol

Rofl by any chance, do u still have any custom clear plungers that are leftovers Purplearms? or do we need Bencao to whip up a batch =) just curious is all haha

lol… i gave them to bencao to make and sell…

made the first prototypes for the custom clear plungers and they fit. Okay, how many for the first batch?

Lightning pics will follow.

Bencao, I would like maybe 12 to 18 clear plungers please  Put me on the list!!!

!!! Lol put me down for a batch =D hehe… what’ll be the pricing on those anywayz if you don’t mind me asking =) Oh and also for the laser etchings im guessing we wud need to send ya our designs?

Yeah, sign me up for 8, plungers and the etched art. Shipping is going to be killer, I’m sure…

Thanks for the awesome suggestion. I actually ended up picking up an Arduino Duemilanove and now I’m starting to play around with little sketches like famous “blinky”. I’ve always been mildly interested in programming too so I have a lot to learn there as well.

I have a quick newby question though, it sounds like you use your Arduino for prototyping and eventually move it over to something else like the MasterStrike. Is there a reason the MasterStrike is used in the actual application? I’m guessing it has more “options” or is better suited than just the Arduino in some way?

I also got my hands on some Ultimarc LEDs as they seemed the simplest. (advertised as 5v leds that can be directly connected to source) Well, I started wondering why this was and ended up prying one apart…looks like they already have tiny resistors soldered in there! Cool! I also grabbed some Tri-Color Led’s for the heck of it to play around with, I’m wondering how I can make them fit Ultimarc’s harness and I have an idea, but man I have pretty much no tools. lol

I feel like I’m learning something new everyday. I think I have a new hobby…thanks! :woot:

Yes, noticed!

Hope I can hold a price about 4-5? per Button, perhaps cheaper. Sad, bud true. Each button consists of two discs as shown in this thread before. Link

We can go with the current design, but we can do some custom etching, too. Just send me the design files. I`ll try to import them into my tools. @32teeth : Did you find some icons in higher resolution?

Hmm, I can send a whole batch to somebody in the states and he takes care about further shipping. Nevertheless simple shipping without insurance with 6? is possible.

What capability does the ‘daughterboard’ and the Sanguino give you?
