Thank you jdm714. But do you know of any place that sells them in a similar way?, unless only purplearms does them.
I don’t make them for sale because i’m purely amateur and it takes me forever to do… but there are people on this board who sell cases. Kaytrim’s kustoms comes to mind, and art’s upcoming plexi cases should be pretty cool
Thank you for the information. Now I am wondering do you sell most of your parts (as in the arc-eye)? Sorry if it was posted already in this thread, I just go this account and I am not used to the thread works.
I do sell the Arc eye and masterstrike… check post #1 and all you need to know is there
4 down, 4 to go. You need a steady ass hand to solder these. I end up checking each one after I finish to see if I screwed anything up.
someone should try and stick an led bulb up into the balltops that turns on when it is used
just a thought
Kaytrim does that in a bunch of his customs, they’re posted in the stick thread every once in a while.
Finally finished soldering the arc eyes. The first 2 took forever to get done, but I managed to knock out the last 2 pretty easily without screwing anything up. Now to hack the 360 PCB and figure out how to set up the Master$trike
once you get used to the process (i used 2 sets of helping hands) you can whip these up in about 3 - 5 minutes each
check the earlier posts on how to do SMD solderinghere
or… …to steady your hand i usually have a glass of wine LOL
That’s the guide I used. Without it I wouldn’t have even tried it! I did end up getting a iron with a finer tip than the one I usually have. Good thing is it was easier to heat the solder points with the finer tip. The bad thing is it was only a 10 watt iron, so it didn’t heat up that fast or that much. Hardest thing was lining up the resistors. For some reason they kept trying to stick to the tweezers. Good thing I didn’t drop them, or I never would have found them again! As for a steady hand, I generally don’t do beer, so I had some Jameson instead!
I just noticed the newer ones have holes to use standard resistors. Nice touch.
Yeah i find that it stuck to my tweezers too… so i started to solder smt differently… i’d position it, then pin it down, then drop solder on one of the connections to hold it there… to each his own lol
lol… i think my only problem was just having a steady hand… but after getting into the groove of things its a cake walk =D I guess im also lucky too, i didn’t have any problems with the resistors sticking to my tweezers lol…
I ended up doing the same thing. Position teh resistor, hope it soesn’t stick to the tweezer/screwdriver/paperclip/finger/anything else used to get it in place, then heat up the solder that was tinned to the board and hope the risistor didn’t move! I didn’t use anything to hold the resistor while I soldered since it usually ended up moving the resistor anyway. The other side was a snap, since I had some ultra thin solder I could melt without really needing to use flux.
As with anything, I do believe flux and tip tinner/cleaner is your best friend on something like this
lol… while playing ssf4 online on the weekend i ran into someone named “waki-paki” and they recognized me and said they installed arc-eyes that day… are you here? lol
Mike, take this
first I etched the little plexi disc and put them like you in the clear Seimitsu Push Buttons. Second I illumanted them with yours ARC EYE PCBs

) the etched art is now glowing in led color

hehe
Happy I still have those. :wgrin:
But no machine to etch like you.
Nice! Now you gotta send me a set… and for ppp maybe a fist with a middle finger extended… dunno what to do for kkk hahaha
I could make you some, if you want. Mail me your fav art and give it to my plexi cutter…
HAR, you`ve the best ideas ever… Could you layout this ?
OMG bencao, thats sooo sexy! Im so jealous lol
dear god those etched plexi plates look so nice. I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on some
