When I was younger, my dad used to play the N64 with my brothers and I.
Now adays when I go visit him or he comes over here, he’ll always ask me to sit down because we have something “important” to talk about. Then he hands me an xbox controller and we do the co-op missions in Call of Duty.
My parents played Mario Kart, Mario Party, all the Mario sports games, Gran Turismo, and Smash Bros with me from when I was like 4 or 5. Now I’ve gotten better and need to give my dad a 130% handicap in Brawl to even give him a chance, but we still have fun anyway. There have been tons of other games, but those are the ones that are recognizable.
My dad taught me how to play Duck Hunt. Before I would walk up to the tv and shoot ducks. Dad taught me how to aim using the sights, proper handling of the gun and positioning. We both hated that fucking dog so motivated us to get better.
Grew up playing wrestling and sports games with my Dad, haha. Memories memories. We still play games together every now and again, but mostly he plays stuff and asks me for advice.
Yep. May Dad is the reason I play shmups and other arcade style games now, we used to play them together in the arcades and at home when I was younger. I heard my Mom always played the first Mario while she was pregnant with me lol.
I always seemed to win more or beat a level or find some secret treasure or something whenever my mum was around. This was back when I had the SNES and the PS1. She was like my own gaming cheerleader when I was young. It was great to be able to joke about certain sound effects and characters in games with one of my parents. Fond memories…
My Dad and I used to play Toe Jam and Earl back in the day. We got to level 25 once, and I ended up dying to a dentist + lawnmower guy + devil combination. We went out for pizza afterwards.
My mom is always trying to get me to play the latest battlefield with her but I’m not really into console 1st person shooters. I should get her into counterstrike…but then I’d have to start playing again too.
Anyway, when I was younger she’d play some games with me. Not really a full time gamer, but occasionally she would find a game that she would really click with and play it until she beat it. She really liked Aliens for Genesis for example. She wasn’t as into super mario world as I was though, but I remember we spent a long time playing it together when I first got it, but by the time I was wrapping up all the secret, super hard, special zone levels she was off doing grown up shit. I’m pretty sure she liked duck hunt tho.
My parents play L4D2 with my sometimes and when Diablo II was really big, we played that together. Also I have played Mario Party and those type of games with my parents. They are both huge into games though. In fact they both got Skyrim and play it quite frequently.
Didn’t play any games with my parents, however my dad got seriously ADDICTED to Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 in the late 90s. He would stay up late making the most amazing theme parks with awesome roller coasters. He doesn’t play as much now, but he still loads it up on our old-ass Windows 98 PC from time to time
First memories period was watching my dad play Final Fantasy 2(US) he would put the 2nd controller into a drawer so he could pretend I was playing, and I ended up leveling his characters for him before the final boss while he was at work or class. My mom still balls the fuck out on Tetris. I played N64 games with my dad up til Star Wars ?Shadows of the Empire? (the one with Dash Rendar) when he got an anxiety attack at the end of the first level when you had to fight the boss AT-ST, or is it AT-AT i never remember 2 legged one.
Now we get shitfaced and play Wii Tiger Woods together whenever my uncle is in town
