Anyone ever play video games with their parents?

My dad was into games before i was born, and a little ways into NES. He loved Zelda, and we played the shit out of that. Then he would play a TON of Bases Loaded (back then they didn’t have stats for players until they were in game, so he had BOOKS AND BOOKS of stats and shit). Last game we really played together was the first Final Fantasy

Lately, he now owns a 360, PS3, and Wii, mostly for exercise games and golf games and a few others. I picked up Kinect Tiger Woods for his birthday, but haven’t had a chance to play with him.

I think he’s a big fan of Gran Turismo lately.

my dad could and probably would still fuck my shit up in pac-man and pitfall.

i played street fighter with my dad in real life. he knocked me the fuck out. TAPfor the win he didn’t even use boxing gloves.

No, my parents aspired to more than just a GED so they never played games with me.

My dad used to play with my joystick.

My parents LOVE Halo and Smash Bros. I still play it with them today.

It was my aunt who introduced me to video games. We played super mario world together more than any other game ive ever played.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Screw all of you with your fond nostalgic memories.
My parents wouldn’t buy me anything because they didn’t approve of that shit, maybe they were afraid of me being desensitized to violence and becoming a maladjusted loner or something.
Anyway, when I eventually got a job, you can guess where all MY money went.
Now look at me.
ARE YOU HAPPY MOM!?!?!?
sob sob

My dad only played Duck Hunt, only if there was a beer in the other hand.

My parents both loved Dr. Mario so when I was very young I would play that with them. They were so competitive at that game that they actually wouldn’t let me play sometimes. And what’s funny is that it was my game. My mom fell off the game wagon shortly after the NES phased out. Fast forward to Super Nintendo and we have my dad getting really into Super Mario Kart. That shit was fun he would always pick Koopa Troopa. He says that Koopa looks like the baby from the tv show Dinosaurs LOL. We also got addicted to Tetris Attack. Again fast forward to N64 and then we get the crack that was Mario Kart 64 and Starfox 64. My dad actually got damn good at Starfox 64, we both discovered just about every bonus point you could find and had everything down to a science. On our computer my dad and I would always play Golden Tee Golf. Somebody randomly gave it to me as a gift and that shit kept my dad and me busy for hrs. Same goes for You Don’t Know Jack.

As time progressed neither of my parents were into games much (my dad would play any Trivia game though) but then they discovered Pop Cap games. My mom and dad both for some reason really, and I mean really got into Bejeweled. My mom followed that up with Zuma. I tried to play with them but it just wasn’t interesting to me.

Currently I play You Don’t Know Jack (XBOX 360) with my dad from time to time and Kinect Bowling really connected with both my parents so that is pretty cool to play that. On his own my dad recently discovered Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2. So all his spare time has actually gone to that. It’s actually LOLs seeing a 60 yr old man getting mad at the game when he dies. My mom discovered cell phone games so that keeps her busy.

My mom and I had a huge Tetris Attack rivalry. Crazy epic sets. And Wizard of Wor on the Commodore 64 with my dad. That game was fun as hell.

My mom doesn’t game anymore, but my dad still plays the CoD and Battlefield games now and then. Tried to get him into TF2 so we could play together, but it wasn’t really his thing.

DINOSAURS!!! I remember that show!!! Nostalgia up in this bitch.
They’re a fan of PopCap games and haven’t played Peggle? Manly tears have been shed.

My sister, mom, dad and I used to gather around the big couch in the living room and make runs through the MK1 & 2 ladders. My dad also used to take me to the arcade after school and sometimes on weekends to play fighting games and a few shooters. My dad supplied me with the gdlk “Hey can my son play a few games since all you guys are beating everyone else” assist and I’d get to cut in the line for a game or two. I also played 2I and 3s against him but once I was consistently getting out supers and special moves he stopped playing me.

i dont think rain was usable in arcade umk3

They both have played Peggle but neither of them liked it, same thing happened with Plants vs Zombies. My sister and I however love Peggle. I’m not to big on Pop Cap Games but I will admit that I love Peggle and own it on my 360 and my Nintendo DS.

my brother put me on project justice…I was WTF is THIS…ITS AMAZING!!!.. but now he’s to cool for games…fuck him…

Literally one of my earliest memories is watching my Dad beat Super Mario Brothers 3. He was also the first person I knew who beat the first Resident Evil. Now and again we get together and play some Time Crisis 4.

I played plenty of videogameas with my dad when I was younger. He was into games and had consoles before I was born. Nowadays, though, he’s just a PC gamer.

Used to play Mario Kart and SFII on my SNES with my dad.
He was good at Mario Kart. Not so much at SFII. He usually used Guile, but he couldn’t do any special moves.
My Dad had never played any video games before that, tho.
My Dads been dead for 5 years now, and for some reason I’ve been thinking about this topic a lot lately.
And then this wonderful Thread pops up on SRK.
Just sayin’.
